Great for kids who like to draw pictures and hand them out to everyone. Easy to rip out pages nicely, good value for money.

We use these sketch pads in our home-school preschool as journals. My kids color their answers to a prompt question and we discuss our artwork.
They are sturdy books, with heavy paper so that their markers don’t show through to the next page. Not suing a lined notebook gives my kids the freedom to “speak” using their favorite medium- art.
My kids love journal time and we definitely look forward to buying these same sketchbooks again when we run out of pages on our current books!

My 6 year old is into drawing at the moment. Had to figure out a way to keep all her drawings in one place. Now she practices in her sketch pad, everything nicely bound together, no more loose papers everywhere! I like the page size. She draws individual objects, she doesn’t need tons of space, so this is perfect. If I had to be picky, I would probably want the pages to be a little thicker since she draws on both sides. You can kind of see through the pages.

I always have notebooks scattered about my house. I’m a writer, so I have story ideas, random doodles, shopping lists, doctors appointments, random notes on any book or scrap of paper that’s closest. These are so convenient because they are thin in notebook thickness (50 pages, compared to 100 in other books), the sheets tear out, and they are completely blank. So I can write, doodle, organize my thoughts and I’m able to tear out the sheets so if I don’t like it I toss it. It’s the fun of having a “new clean notebook” without wasting notebooks. With the tear out sheets I just pull out the old sheets, which also keeps them light weight so I can take one notebook with me anywhere in my bag.
These pages are also the perfect size to fit into my classic sized Happy Planner, so I can tear out and hole punch the sheets and organize them any way I want in my Happy Planner discs.
I will definitely be buying these again.
    Not just for kids.

I work in a school and with Covid we are no longer supposed to share supplies so I bought all my own art supplies for art class (I prefer not to even share paper because those kids can be gross). The small size helps because I keep this in my backpack all the time in case I need it. Watercolor paint does leak thru a single sheet of paper but dries quickly so don’t draw on both sides if you plan to paint. I was hoping these would be think enough for painting as I never know what medium we will be using in art that day. Even my 5 year old loves these. Great size for small children and easily tare out to hang on the fridge. I will buy more for work and home.

We have bought these several times. Our boys love them. It has high quality paper and is the perfect size for doodling in the car or restaurants. We paired these with crayola twistable colored pencils (they dont melt like the twist able crayons do) and store them in a large zippered canvas pouch I found at walmart. They stay in the car so we always them. My kids have enjoyed these from ages 3 to 10

These are fabulous. We have one in every corner of our house and in the car. Particularly helpful at night rrright before little one goes to sleep, jumps up and exclaims ‘I have to get this drawing out of my head!!’ We have one under the pillow with a crayon and they draw their thoughts and then can get back into sleepy time mode. It’s been helpful, and I accidentally bought two 3-packs but decided to keep the extra bc I want one too. The paper quality is actually really good for what it is too. I like it, anyway. Not certain how effective it would be for professionals.

I’ve purchased these a few times now and will continue to do so. These are geared for kids and they work great for them but I also like them for myself, lol. My son and I like to doodle and draw and these are sized perfectly so we can take them with us on a walk or ride. Also are nice for pasting in pictures from magazines and things. Work well with colored pencils and pastels or crayon also. Sharpie markers bleed through some so you can only use one side of the paper if you use those but the Paper Mate felt tips don’t bleed through too much if you use a light hand. Its a great little art journal at reasonable pricing. Highly recommend.

We’ve purchased many many Melissa and Doug items and I’m always so pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. These are no exception. The kids love them and the sketch pad paper is thick enough not to bleed through and still has the texture of the art paper in an adult book. We will definitely buy again when the kids use these up. Love that they come in a 4 pack so everyone gets their own!
