service was great; arrived quickly, well packaged, in good shape.
The product is Chinese, and it shows. The stock is heavy, but the fibers are coarse
and obvious. I use paper for pen and ink mostly, and this is not an enjoyable pad
to use. The nib chatters and the line bleeds. It might be good for charcoal or
pastels, but I would strongly recommend moving to a better grade paper. This
would be fine for kids.

My daughter is the artist of the family and she loves this sketch paper. Can’t beat the quality

I bought these for my little sister for Christmas,.got it out to wrap it and one of the spirals was messed up. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE!! Christmas is in a few days so i cant send it back! I mean Get a 2pack for almost $10 isnt a bad deal. But not happy about the spiral. For an artist that likes to keep their drawings in the book this is gonna suck,.its gonna be hard ti flip the pages. BUT Hopefully I can fix it.

If I could give it negative ratings I would!
The quality sucks big time! The quality of the paper texture isn’t too bad, but everything else about the sketch pads are just pathetic. I could buy dollar store sketch pads that are better quality.
The paper is cut really bad and put together in a haphazard manner.
If you look at the pictures you’ll see that even when closed the papers stick out. Some of the papers are wrinkly! How do you have wrinkled papers and think you can sell this stuff?
I really want to return it and run to my local dollar store and get better quality sketch pads.

Weirdly textured paper, weight unable to sustain markers 🙁 just a day later I found 140 lb paper that was around the same price. It came with two seperate pads which is not something I was expecting… 0/10 would not buy again

I purchased (2) US Art Supply 5.5″ x 8.5″ Premium Heavy-weight Sketchpads because it has loads of positive reviews, and Strathmore doesn’t offer a top-spiral-bound sketchbook. I have been using them regularly since 06/19/19.
POSITIVES:
1) The sketchbook has survived being shoved into my purse every day for almost a month with only minimal wear. Considering the state of my purse, this is impressive.
2) If you’re looking for something to practice on while out and about, this is a solid choice. I use it like newsprint: practicing different shading techniques and strokes, and quickly sketching out poses/expressions.
3) Everything but the spiral is biodegradable, and degrades quickly, so no one will ever see your unrefined practice work.
NEGATIVES:
1) Instagram artists, beware: “Natural White” is in fact the most un-photogenic gray I’ve ever had the misfortune of drawing on.
2) This is not “semi-textured paper made to accept all mixed media.” The texture is coarse but wrong for charcoal, and it rejects everything but ballpoint. Graphite transfer is significant: within a day, sketches look blurred and faded. When I tested Sharpies on it, the paper’s texture dulled the nibs and the colors faded into the un-photogenic gray.
3) This is not the sketchpad for glamorous scenery sketches, nor is it one for preserving your child’s artwork.

Cheap cheap cheap! Getting what you paid – not much. Paper is not even cleanly cut on pad. One side of paper has a lined texture that comes through on graphite drawing with even the slightest touch. Other side may be usable for shading practice at best since texture is less obvious. I would have returned but used black markers to indicate front cover became back side because of texture issue. I will use the two pads for testing color, marks, pencil sharpness. Will never by another product from this manufacturer.

If you are looking for a notepad has thicker paper quality, easy to use and just doodle away or jot down notes, i would recommend this product. It is sturdy enough, paper mimics thick bristol paper. If you are using pencil, charcoal or any medium that have residue, it will definitely smidge little easier on other papers. Spring is kinda loose, paper moves around when you dont hold it but it doesnt bother too much. I would say its best budget thick notepad out there. Cant really compare to other 20 bucks drawing pads.

Le ressort en haut est bien et ne gêne pas lorsqu’on dessine. Les pages bien épaisses sont résistantes.
