When we brought the legendary ATH-M50x studio sound into the world of personal wireless audio, we created what are, simply, the best-sounding wireless headphones on the market. But we weren’t content to stop there. Introducing the ATH-M50xBT2, the second generation of our critically acclaimed M-Series wireless over-ear headphones, featuring a number of enhancements to improve performance and usability. But don’t worry – we’ve changed nothing about the critically acclaimed sonic signature. The M50xBT2 delivers the same exhilarating wireless listening experience as its predecessor, offering exceptional clarity and deep, accurate bass response. There’s even the option to adjust the headphone’s EQ settings, if you so choose – make the changes in the A-T Connect app and save directly to the headphones. In addition, we have greatly improved vocal pickup, incorporating beamforming microphone technology for clearer phone calls and communication with the built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistant. We’ve also added multipoint pairing to let you connect wirelessly to two devices at once. An updated USB-C connection, a low latency mode, and compatibility with high-quality audio codecs round out the enhancements.

Almost Exactly Like the Original – The Good and BadThis wireless version of the ATH-M50x is almost exactly like the original in terms of sound quality and comfort. The sound quality is pretty decent for headphones in this price range. The M50x will always be energetic and bright in terms of sound signature. Usually, the wireless version of a headphone will dull that energy. I found the sound to be very similar to the wired version. As for comfort, the M50x has always caused ear pains for me after wearing them for a few hours. It is the same for the BT2. I have never tried aftermarket ear pads, so I don’t know if there is a better solution out there. Changing to different ear pads will alter the sound signature and affect the sound isolation as well.I have also compared these headphones with the vaunted Sony WH-1000XM5s. The Sony’s active noise canceling is pretty amazing, arguably the best in the business. The ATH-M50x does not have active noise cancellation but the sound isolation from the ear pads is actually pretty good. In terms of sound quality, the ATH-M50x is much better. Sony just doesn’t have as much detail as Audio Technica. Lastly, the Sony wins hands down for comfort. I can wear the Sony for an entire day and not have any ear pain.

Worth it but haven’t gotten the microphone to work 😕Keep in mind this is my first pair of really expensive headphones but I cannot listen to music any other way now! These sound amazing and the battery is astonishing but I have yet to get the microphone to work on my computer or on my phone. I wasn’t planning to use them in that way anyway but it’s worth mentioning. Pairing was quick. It pairs quickly to everything I’ve wanted to pair it to including my audio-technica record player.

Really solid bluetooth headphonesBeen using them for about a year now, just everything I wanted in a headset:Bluetooth with good quality soundUSB C charging + insane battery lifeOptional aux for any devices that need itFoldable and portable, also makes it pretty durable because an earcup isnt going to just twist off *cough* my old logitech headsetPlus the built in mics are actually decent for talking in a pinchAlso love the designAnd for $200 (what I got this for) seems like a really good deal to me.

Really good quality but quite unconfortable for my ear sizeSound quality and material are really good, the batery too. But they are quite unconfortable because of my ear’s size. After 2hs they start to hurt a lot. For reference, i’m 6’25 with quite big ears, not like dumbo big but definitly aren’t small, maybe they are Pau Gasol size hahahIf you have big ears consider buying other ear pads that have a larger foam. The problem is that you lose the bass quality.

Just rightThe sound quality is pretty good for me it’s definitely a step up from my Beats headphones and the Bluetooth audio isn’t as bad as I thought. There’s an app for EQ if you’re interested in messing around with it. I would recommend for only music producers or anyone in that laneUpdate: I was wrong I actually had to sit with these for awhile until I realized how good they actually were. I find them very comfortable to wear for long periods and the volume quality is actually better than I thought once I got used to them. Now I can mix and use them as listening headphones which should help make my mixes sound more consistent instead of switching to my earbuds once I have my mix on my phone. I even chose these over the more expensive Sony headphones I’m glad I chose this pair first

Very nice bluetooth headphonesI’ve been using these headphones every day since i’ve got them and I love them, the long battery life allows me to use these all day without having to worry about charging them and the foldable design makes them easy to put away/store, which is very convinient.

Amazing sound, bluetooth not good at allIncredible drivers. Crystal clear everything. I use them wired to my laptop most of the time, which is a far better listening experience over the weak bluetooth tech. The wired sound is so much more powerful. The bluetooth is buggy. It supports two connected devices but even if one of the devices thinks about playing something the other device will not switch over. I have to press play on whatever device and then stop, then close the app and then just maybe the second device will play something. A few times it completely stopped responding on a full battery and I couldn’t turn it off or on.Another thing that is really confusing are the next and previous buttons. I still have no idea if I’m raising the volume or going to the next song. I don’t think I’ve actually skipped a song on these because I just don’t know how.For this type of industry standard studio headset the bluetooth is a waste of money. Bottom line, amazing sounds, weak, weird bluetooth.

Great HeadphonesThese headphones are built well, sound amazing, and are flexible. I do wish they came with longer cables like the wired M50x.
