Decent headphones, bad micEvery time I’ve had to speak In a work meeting, they tell me they can’t hear me or I’m cutting out so I have to unplug my headset and use my laptop mic.It sucks because I work in a shared office and it’s annoying when people are on speaker imo.

Almost perfectI got these headphones because I wanted to avoid buying products with plastic and I liked that the materials used in making this were recycled. I was disappointed that the packaging still had some plastic in it, so it wasn’t truly a “zero-waste” purchase, which was the whole point for me. I think they’re also vegan, which was important for me, as I’m vegan. The headphones’ sound is crisp & clear, with a balanced sound when it’s working. Many times I only get sound through one side and it crackles a lot when I’m playing the piano, which is troublesome because I can’t hear all the notes I’m playing. I have to keep tapping the headphones, moving the cable around or myself (or I have to sit completely still in a weird angle and barely make any movement while playing the piano, which is hard to do, in order to get it to work properly) and plugging it and unplugging it to see if the sound comes out through both sides. In honesty I don’t know if it’s the headphones doing that but the previous headphones (and the adapter) I used for my piano didn’t have that problem of sound coming in to one ear only and crackling, so I have to assume the problem is being caused by these headphones. I’ve never seen anything to adjust the sound level on these, which is the reason for the 1 star rating on that part. I adjust the sound on my piano. I ordered these on Amazon because the Bob Marley website ran out, but please pass on the suggestion about eliminating the plastic from the packaging. When they do work properly, I love these. They’re comfy and do block some sound out.Update April 30th, 2022:The crackling and uneven sound has persisted. It’s definitely a problem with the headphones. They also don’t work when I try to plug them into other devices such as my laptop or cellphone. Not sure if my set was just defective. Hope they construct these better in the future.

DisappointingWhen I first got these, I was pretty impressed. For $50, they seemed like a decent headphone for casual use. I liked that the materials were all recycled and/or sustainably sourced. I liked the fabric cable. However, my impression has only gone down from there. Upon trying the headphones, I realized the bass is quite lacking. With no EQ, I felt like my ears were being stabbed with the treble. However, there was a surprising amount of clarity, so I figured I would give EQ a shot. There are very thin margins you can work within before it sounds completely muddy. I finally found a sweet spot of sorts that I felt like created an inviting sound without losing any quality. I used the headphones at my desk for about three months, and quite frankly, they’re falling apart. The adjustable headband now moves freely, even when the clamps on the sides are shut, although those don’t really stay shut very well. When using the headphones, the drivers cause popping and creaking noises in the plastic housing, which distracts from whatever is playing. The ear pads also seem to have warped at some point and no longer stay attached. Also, they were never very comfortable to begin with. Neither was the headband, which I ended up covering with a padded headband cover I had laying around. But I wouldn’t put any money into making these more comfortable or last longer. The only thing that’s still in good shape is the cable.

Sound very good. But…They are way too small.

Okay, but not good enough for musicians.Note: Please be careful with the description. They are currently listed as 50mm drivers, but they are not. These are 40mm drivers. If you’re looking for 50mm driver headphones from HoM, search for the model EM-JH011. Their newer Positive Vibration 2/EM-JH121 are 40mm drivers. Feel free to fact check me on their website. You won’t notice the difference above if your ears are not trained for music/not an audiophile. The bass gets a bit murky when deepened on custom EQ settings and the mids and treble sound muted. The overall sound was a bit too muddy for my liking. As a bassist, this is a big no no for me. Now, with this set aside, are these bad headphones? No. Not at all. I actually prefer the older EM-JH011 models to the cult favorite, Beats. If you’re looking for something stylish and light with power but won’t break your wallet, this is the train stop for you. I’ve been a customer of HoM for the past 5-6 years now and absolutely love their products and what they stand for. You get the bang for your buck and can expect them to last for 1-2 years minimum. If something does go wrong with the headphones within 2 years of purchasing a new set, you can contact the manufacturer directly and they’ll send you a new pair. If you have a sensitive head, these may or may not be the headphones for you, but most on-ears will apply some pressure on you. In my opinion, they’re comfortable but can get hot to wear in the summer or after a couple hours of wear. All in all, the decision is up to you, but I do recommend looking at the EM-JH011 models first. They’re very slightly bigger, but the sound is so much better.

Cheap feeling and SoundingCheap feeling and sounding, was immediately made aware when I had it running through my audio interface. Absolutely no bass despite it being a selling point. Plus, the size of the headphones themselves where more appropriate for a child than a fully grown adult, as in they barely covered the center of my ears much less the entire ear. Don’t buy these headphones there are many more options that exceed expectations for the same price. Using the Marley name as a selling point is downright disgraceful.

Get the job done.I purchased these headphones for work to replace some cheap ones that I previously purchased here on Amazon that started to fall apart. I’ve had them for 2 months now and so far I have no complaints. Sound quality is good enough for me and the noise cancellation works so well that I can never hear anything else going on in the room. I actually plan on buying another one.
