I first came on here and wrote a negative review about these hooks, because I could not get them to stick to the glass surface I was putting them on for the life of me. Really struggled at first.
Then I saw another review on here of another customer who figured it out by studying the instructions more carefully and giving a more thorough blow-by-blow of how to make these darn hooks stick.
When you first open the package, the hooks are going to be pointed straight out horizontally.
When you open up one of the packages of wipes and clean the surface you are about to stick the hook on, apply the suction cup firmly on surface, then bend the hook *downwards* towards the floor, and slightly lift the suction cup a little when you pull the hook down. Once the hook is pulled down, the suction inside the cup will activate and behold.. It will stick!
Try to read through the instructions really carefully and keep it on hand (don’t throw the instructions out!). I bumped up the star rating to 4, but not 5, only because the hooks are still a little too thick for my liking (so you can’t hang just anything on these hooks unless it’s a big hole or there’s lots of slack).. But I’m still glad I was able to make it work!
STUDY the instructions!

Hook is thinker then I planned to I needed to put my ornament on a tow to hang.
RampantDB –
Absolutely useless. Straight to the bin because they didn’t stick to anything and it wasn’t worth returning them. I only bought them as a suggested ad on and certainly won’t follow any such suggestion again. Total waste of money.
Kemon Hackman –
They’re heavier duty than a previous brand purchased and hold more weight. They stay in place by well and easy to relocate.
SC –
Reasonable product and just what I was looking for and needed.
Steve C Houbre –
Easy to install with good suction
Ellisa –
This product is well made for it to be all plastic. Also you don’t need to put water on the back or on the tile in order for it to work. Since it’s removable it makes it easier to clean.

Product was received as described.

I don’t know if this will help everyone, but I have outstanding strength on mine, so here you go.
The surface on which I mounted my hooks is a gloss tile with NO texture. It doesn’t have a “smooth” texture, it’s not even a matte tile, it is literally a glass-like surface. It’s not actual glass, but you know what I mean. That’s first.
Next up, the way I prepared the surface was far more attentive than just the wipe they provided. In fact, I didn’t use that at all. First I used a razor blade to clear the area of anything invisible like soap buildup or cleaning product residue. (BE CAREFUL. Don’t dig in, go backwards a little bit first, be gentle, go slowly — I’m not responsible for any scratches here.) Then I used a tile scrubber (the green textured sponge kind) with some tile cleaner (scrubbing bubbles) and rinsed that clean. Then I did both those things again. THEN I used a Clorox cleaning wipe and gave it another rinse. When I was done with all that I let it air-dry for a couple hours.
To actually install the suction cup, I lifted the hook and pressed it onto the tile, as the instructions say. But before moving the hook down into place, I lifted that little tab on the cup to allow a small final amount of air to escape. THEN I moved the hook down into place, and this took a little effort because of how much air I’d pushed out.
With these few extra preparations, I was able to obtain a bond that is incredibly strong. It has not fallen down and it has held its listed weight in place with no problem.
After installing this way with one hook and finding it to be successful, I installed a second and third the same way and all three are still holding strong, each with weight on them.
Your mileage may vary, but if you are concerned about some of the things in other reviews, this stuff may help. I hope it does!
