6 in a package, not 10The description says it contains 10 individually packaged tablets. There is only 6. I’ve only used it once on a 2-month old machine so I can’t tell if it made a huge difference. It does say in another part of the description that there’s 6 in a pack but in multiple places it advertises 10.

Work well but you only get 6I just want to echo that these tablets work well and are recommended for my Gaggia Super Automatic. I use them once a month. But like others have said, you now only get 6 tablets instead of 10 like in the past, and this isn’t updated in the description. So I’m pulling off one star.Pop into the unit to make coffee (not with grinder; on mu unit, this is the mode for grounds), let brew until halfway indicator shows, switch unit off. Give it 15 minutes to work, switch unit on. Brew at least a cup of ‘coffee’ (do NOT put ground coffee into unit), to flush. Might want to do this twice. Done.

I Think This Works But Instructions May Be IncompleteI am not sure if the directions are quite correct for using this product with a pressurized portafilter such as those on a Saeco Gran Crema or Saeco Aroma. A version that I found online last year said to draw about a quarter to half cup of water through the portafilter at a time with one tablet inside and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes, draw another portion, etc., until tablet is fully dissolved with the water fully heated per operating instructions and to then draw several cups of water to flush residual oils and cleaning solution. The printed instructions that came with this product stated to perform a series of long draws of about 5 minutes each until the tablet is dissolved but the tablet does not even last the full 5 minutes of the first draw.I have chosen to go with the instructions that I found online based upon the following experience:My portafilter physically looked clean and all accessible surfaces had been washed. I put a tablet into the portafilter and started drawing double shots of water through the portafilter allowing 4-5 minutes between pulls and allowing the water to reach normal brewing temperature. After the second or third shot I started getting small flecks that were more the size, appearance and consistency as the tea leaves (or dregs) left after drinking brewed loose leaf tea. I didn’t get very many at a time but this continued first through the cleaning draws and then for many draws of plain water to remove any traces of the cleaning solution. Although the internal piping of the pressurized portafilter is extremely short there must have been a substantial buildup of oils and I credit this product with their removal. I drew the cleaning solution and rinse water into a white ceramic cup so that I could visually inspect for any removed matter and ensure that the rinse water was running clean. Please note – no coffee, just a cleaning tablet in the basket of the portafilter. These tablets are for cleaning a portafilter only and cannot be used for descaling since the product is downstream of the boiler.Just in case, this review is for the Coffee Cleaning Tablet made by Gaggia,

What you see advertised is not what you getWhat’s advertised is a pack of 10 tablets. What’s received is a pack of 6 tablets. I chose the advertised product as it was supposed to be 10 tablets & the price would make sense when compared to other retailers. I needed to clean my machine, so I’ve already used several tablets.

A Needed Product for Keeping Up Perfromance1I use this product every so often to clean the innards of the machine. The are also used as the final step of my decalcification procedure. The manufacture’s product works very well.
