When it comes to filters, I only use Jura brandI have no scientific reason to think that off-brand filters are not as good, but I’m on my third Jura machine in nearly 20 years and I don’t want to take chances. Our second machine failed due to a buildup of calcium. As a result, I run my current machine with a filter but in non-filter mode. As a result, the machine reminds me to descale (de-calcify) at the regular interval. I don’t get told I need to also change the filters so I keep track of that on my own. Between de-scaling and the filters, I’m sure our current machine will last a long time.To be fair, the failed machine probably made 10000+ cups of coffee in it’s service lifetime.

True Jura FilterThese Jura Claris Blue Filter is authentic, in original packaging and made by Jura. The price I paid was like 40% less than other sites. The product name changed from Claris to Clearyl. It appears to be the same filter, only a name change. Beware of generic filters! Read they are sub standard and can damage the machine. Some even reported filters in clear plastic wrapping along with moisture. Paid way to much for my coffee machine. Not taking any chances on damaging my machine!

Jura Claris Blue filter cartridgeThe filter works as it should. I can’t understand why they have to be so expensive, but the Jura machines do a great job and deserve/need the best care. Obviously, this gives it.

Part of a greater systemWe have had three Jura coffee makers over the past 12 hears (upgrades from our original) and they make amazing coffee, espresso and cappuccino. The amazing thing about this system is it is not rocket science, but it is solid science and engineering and this filter cartridge is an integral part of this system that starts with clean water, combines with freshly ground coffee beans and makes the perfect cup of coffee…
