Simple cleaning optionThe instructions and time involved were totally worth the effort. I don’t know why this survey is asking about flavor, way to go algorithms!! I can’t recommend tasting the cleaning agent!! 😆

Review, instructions and TDS measurementsI have a TDS meter (total dissolved solids). It’s not perfect. but it shows if there is stuff in your water. If you run a blank pull (just water) through your espresso machine, it will show if the water is dirty, assuming you start with distilled water. I used the TDS to test the system. The CaffeNu system is easy. Make sure you have water in the reservoir. I used distilled water. Put in the capsule, position a cup to catch the cleaner fluid, and hit the regular espresso button. Wait two minutes (I left the room in case of irritants). After two minutes, run the “lungo” button for the large cycle with the capsule still in place. Then take out the capsule (it’s hot), close the lid with no capsule inside and run two blank pulls (the longest or lungo setting).Measurements with the TDS give a reading of 60 at this point (distilled water is zero, my tap water is ~150).So, in fact, there really is still some stuff in the machine. I ran four more blank pulls and after four my reading gradually went down to 5, down from 60.So the system works, but you *really* need to rinse out your machine to get rid of the residue!Minor annoyance: it doesn’t say what the cleaning agent is. I hate that. It’s going in your coffee.

Better Than ExpectedI was somewhat skeptical on these, but figured it couldn’t hurt. I cleaned my Pixie after descaling and based on the color of the water, it removed a lot! Even more importantly, my coffee tasted much better. I had forgotten how good it used to be. I took away one star because of the fit in my Pixie. The capsules are made of lightweight plastic and they don’t sit quite right in the chamber. Consequently, the top didn’t get punctured very well so the cleaning solution wasn’t evenly applied. I expect with regular use that won’t be an issue. I’m glad I tried them out.

Just used mineNo instructions I didn’t like that part. Like how many rinses do I have to do after running this pod. But oh my what a huge difference it made in my creatista plus. I was getting worried with the taste. But this made it perfect.

Effective for removing buildup!I was getting brown flecks of something when brewing espresso with my machine. I thought it might need to be descaled. When that didn’t solve the problem I thought it might be related to the spout so I gave these a try and the amount of stuff that was flushed out was gross and extremely satisfying at the same time. I don’t get any more brown flecks when brewing! My only complaints are that the instructions say to run the capsule through twice but many machines automatically drop the capsule into the bin so I had to use more than one. Also, I wish these were aluminum. I don’t like using plastic capsules in my machine.Overall, these are effective and will become part of my maintenance routine.

Miracle CleanerWe’ve had a Lattissima Plus for about 7 years that we love. We only make 2-3 cups a day so the machine is still in good shape. A couple of months ago, the coffee seemed weaker and the used capsule holder began to fill with coffee leaking into it. Then the drip tray below that had coffee too. It was a mess and we thought the machine might be ruined. We heard about this product and decided to give it a try. We ended up using a few capsules the same day, but after we were finished, there was no more leaking into the used capsule holder and our coffee tasted like real coffee again! We are so excited this worked and would highly recommend this product! We will continue to use it once a month now.
