Wish I had purchased this a long time ago for my Barista Express. Significantly reduces channeling

I got this distributor/tamper combo because it was 58.5mm to fill the whole basket and not leave a wall of grounds above my fully prepped puck. It works good (not great). I like the distributor to get everything level and distributed and ready for tamping. If you leave this on your cup warmer, the heat causing expansion of this tamper, and the heated portafilter will cause very tight tolerances (sometimes too tight). Keeping this cool on the counter or a holder off to the side, it will fit in the basket everytime with less than .5mm to spare. Not the easiest to hold on to, but I’ll figure it out. Not getting consistent shots yet, but tamping pressure is one of many variables, and I’ll continue to figure it out as I go! If you fill your baskets toward the top, this will work great for you, if you under fill your basket, this doesn’t have a lot of adjustment and cannot go very deep due to the black knurled aluminum shoulder, and amount of threads to adjust/extend the stainless piece to tamp deeper.

The price is a bit much… but does the job well. Very nice weight to it, one side to distribute, the other to tamp down.

This espresso tamper and lever is very handy and looks great I’m very excited to use this as my main tamper every day

I’m not sure if I got the V2 or not but to properly use the tool you need to adjust it by twisting the body so that the distributor or tamper has enough space to reach down the portafilter depending on how much coffee is inside of it. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a great addition to your coffee routine. One thing to note, give it a good twist to expose as much of the metal body as you can for a good wash when you get it. The body looked tarnished/rusty when first exposed but cleaned up well after a proper wash.

I replaced my tamper with this tool because the edges ensure the puck is level in the portafilter basket.

Bought this for my signature Flair Signature, it’s the perfect size. This thing is quiet heavy. So glad I bought this.

It is heavy in your hand. Only I was making it at home. Now the wife makes it. Very little suds, black and strong no matter which one of us makes it. 4 two ounce servings fills my mug for work without hurting our hands.

Very satisfied with this Crema distributor and tamper.
The tamper side fits the 58mm portafilter better than the standard one that came with my rancilio silvia.
Distributor works great and the overall quality of this tool enables consistency in shots.

I took away 1 star just because the product doesn’t mention this tool is made for a double shots. The mechanism works with an inner screw that screws into the 2 sides of the tool. To adjust sizing, you would have to loosen (increase height) or tighten (decrease height) the side you want to adjust. The problem is both sides share the same screw to adjust sizing, so there’s so much you can actually adjust before having to tighten the other side to be able to loosen a bit more the one you are trying to adjust.
So, for single shot, you have to adjust the distributor side first and then adjust the tamper side before using it and redo all over for every shot.
