I received my duo via Amazon but when I ordered it didn’t specify that it was from Costco. They shipped quicker than expected, and included a bonus 1 lb ground coffee, 48 KCups and a spare coffee machine filter. So I was already impressed before even firing it up.
Love the slim design and removable water canister that can be placed on the back or side. Love not having to fill the pot with water first then pour it into a coffee maker, usually ending up with water on the counter.
The design allows me to make a pot of coffee and then use a KCup function or just straight water through the KCup function without having to remove the full pot coffee filter. They function through two different places. This important to note because if you want hot water for tea, it doesn’t run through the full pot coffee filter area and taste like coffee.
The coffee comes through hot into an insulated pot instead of warm and heated on a burner resulting in a bitter cup of coffee. Note, there is no burner. This actually works well for us as having a water softener, as with our other coffee makers, on occasion after washing the pot and placing on the burner, the salted water has corroded other coffee pot burners.
Anyway, the flavour of the coffee is superior to any other coffee maker I have had.
Now, the one flaw; insulated pot doesn’t close completely so the coffee stays “warm” for two hours as advertised. Warm, not hot. Since my husband leaves for work before 5 am and coffee is timed for him, by the time I get a cup shortly after 6 am, it is warm, not hot. If I add cream, I have to reheat it in the microwave. This is a small point, not major but if you think it keeps the coffee hot for two hours you would be disappointed. The coffee is good enough to drink black though so without cream, it’s usually warm enough for the first much needed cup.

Have used this for a year now and have had no problems. Works great. Easy to set the auto-brew so you have coffee waiting for you in the mornings. After a few months I start to notice it starts to brew a little less than the amount I choose. (For example if I choose 6 cups it might only brew 5.5 cups). At this point I know I need to clean it, which is very easy to do. Just mix even parts water and vinegar and run it through the machine. I usually run 2 full reservoirs of this mixture through it. The limescale comes right out. After cleaning just run some clean water through and you are good to go. Highly recommend this. Just bought another one for my daughter as she heads to college next year.

I absolutely loved this dual purpose machine, worked perfect with no spills and when you selected the strong button for the single serve it was just like a regular cup of coffee unlike other percolators I have had in the past. Unfortunately it never lasted 2 months when one morning I went to make a pot of coffee and it wouldn’t power on after checking all the usual causes for an appliance not to come on. Today I received a new replacement and hopefully this one will last much longer since it isn’t a cheap coffee maker.

We have owned a few Keurigs over the past 10-15 years and this one is the hands down best. I love the ability to make a full pot when my wife and I are both home over the weekends or making myself a cup at a time with a pod when she is traveling. Flavor and strength is great for both the pod and the full pot and eapecially love the carafe which keeps the full pot hot for a long time. The ability to move the reservoir is an added bonus so you can place it on the side (or rear) that makes most sense for your setup. Its a large enough reservoir so I am not having to refill it with water daily like our previous Keurig. Very easy to setup and very easy to use. Lots of flexibility with cup/pot size and strength. I haven’t found anything yet with the design or functionality I would change.

It works. It makes coffee abdcthe brewer doesn’t impact the flavor of the coffee. Have used the carafe, the burner keeps coffee hot, not the carafe. That’s fine. The water reservoir is way at the back abd hardcto reach. Because the reservoir is long and shallow it needs to be filled in place. Reservoir comes off but is hard to hold level to fill. It’s just a bit tall for my coffee bar station that goes under my cabinets, especially to lift out the carafe side coffee baskets. The cup side is fine. A slide out version on the carafe side would work better. We like the option of carafe and cup.

Honestly I hesitated buying this model due to all the backlash and criticism it received. But I took a leap of faith and put my trust into the few good reviews and I’m so glad I did! Zero issues. None. The pot brew function works well, as does the single brew. The people complaining about the grounds overflowing must be using an extra fine grind of coffee or something cause I’ve never had that problem. Try a fine-medium grind people. And those complaining about the coffee pot really have me wondering if they’ve ever poured a pot of coffee before. Everything works as it should. Period. The end.
Looks quite elegant, it’s quiet and most importantly, super convenient. Cheers.

We bought our first Kuerig about 11 years ago and it has been so reliable and hardworking. A true warrior in our early morning routine. But when we had guests over it was slightly annoying not being able to just make a pot of coffee for everyone. This purchase is a game changer. I already know it’s going to last a long time because of the reliability of their other products and now we can make MORE coffee when we need it, like on Saturday mornings after bad decision making the night before. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Just bought this coffee maker a week ago and love it. It is our second combined coffeemaker. Our first was a Cuisinart. (I do not recommend).
The single tank receptacle for both brew types is perfect. You lift it off the maker, take it to the water faucet and then but it back. No leaking (like the Cuisinart) No more having to try to fill two different water tanks with either the pot or another container. The flavor of the coffee is excellent. The thermal carafe keeps brewed coffee warm and pours with no spills!!!
I cannot recommend this coffee pot more. If you are looking for a two option coffee pot, this is a very very good one.

I purchased both of these pots at the same time (Keurig here on Amazon and the FlexBrew from our local big-box store). Here is my analysis:
Things these two share in common:
* They make great coffee!
* They both make a carafe or a single serving with a K-cup or with your own grounds in a k-cup adapter.
* They both make a carafe with up to 12 cups, or 60 oz (you lose some fluid in the brew process, achieving more like 56 to 57 oz).
* They are both programmable for an auto-brew.
* They both have an option for strong/bold coffee and the option applies to both the carafe and the single-serving side.
Keurig K-Duo Plus pros:
* Attractive.
* Small footprint good for smaller kitchens.
* Has a reservoir to hold water for multiple cups.
* Comes with a thermal carafe.
* Comes with a gold filter and water filter.
* Has easy-to-read push buttons for size options.
* Carafe and single cup options come out of the same spout – less cleaning involved.
* Fast brew process.
* Little to no steam escaping the top, so it seems safe to place under cabinets. And because of the separate removable reservoir, it can be used just fine beneath cabinets without pulling it out to fill.
Keurig K-Duo Plus cons:
* Expensive.
* Size options limited. For a carafe, you can choose 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups. For a single cup, you have the same choices (in ounces). There are no in-between sizes, and the maximum K-cup size you can make is 12 oz.
* Coffee filter basket is a bit hard to pull out and push back in.
* Gold filter does not have a handle.
* To use a “My K-cup” adapter with your own grounds requires fully pulling out the coffee basket, reaching up inside, and popping out the piece that punctures the K-cup. So switching between K-cups and your own grounds for a single brew is super cumbersome.
* Does not include a “My K-cup” adapter for your own grounds. That must be purchased separately.
* Height is quite tall and it can be difficult to see the button controls if your cabinets are low or cast a shadow. Could be difficult to insert a K-cup for some.
Hamilton Beach FlexBrew pros:
* MUCH more affordable.
* Less buttons to push as water output is based upon how much water you put in at the time of brewing.
* Single serving side will do up to 14 ounces.
* Single serving size is dependent upon how much water you put in, thus making the size more customizable – so you can do a small espresso cup, for example, with only 4 ounces.
* Carafe sizes are also customizable up to 12 cups, based upon how much water your put in.
* Slightly shorter than the Keurig.
* Includes a mesh filter for the single-serving side, for using your own grounds.
* Storage for the single-serving mesh filter is beneath the single-serving drip tray which is quite handy.
* Coffee is really hot, so you can add liquid creamer and not feel like you have to microwave it.
Hamilton FlexBrew cons:
* Not as attractive as the Keurig. Bulkier.
* Does NOT include a gold filter. That must be purchased separately.
* Does not have a reservoir that stays filled and ready to go. It must be filled each time you brew.
* Takes longer to brew than the Keurig.
* Two separate spouts for carafe and for single serving. Therefore, two spouts that need cleaning/descaling.
* No thermal carafe included (They have that as another model, but it only does 10 cups).
* More difficult to fill the reservoirs since they are at the back of the machine. If placing this beneath cabinets, one would probably need to pull the machine out when using in order to reach and fill the reservoirs.
Final decision: in the end, I went for the FlexBrew, as I decided I preferred the ability to make up to 14 ounces on the single-serving side, so it fully fills my cup. While the instructions say not to exceed 10 ounces for actual K-cups, I have been putting in 14 ounces, selecting the bold brew, and it seems to work just fine. I also like that it’s easy to switch between K-cups and using your own grounds on the single-serving side. Plus, there’s storage for the mesh filter right on the pot, so I don’t have to go searching for the accessory. The better price tag is a big factor too, of course. I did end up buying a gold filter and a separate thermal carafe for those days when needed, although we usually drink the full carafe pretty quickly. Even with the purchase of the thermal carafe and gold filter, the price tag on this is still significantly less than the Keurig. I didn’t need to place this beneath a cabinet, so that issue wasn’t significant for me. If you need yours beneath a cabinet, I would probably recommend the Keurig.
