Great Coffee MakerHave used this for a year now and have had no problems. Works great. Easy to set the auto-brew so you have coffee waiting for you in the mornings. After a few months I start to notice it starts to brew a little less than the amount I choose. (For example if I choose 6 cups it might only brew 5.5 cups). At this point I know I need to clean it, which is very easy to do. Just mix even parts water and vinegar and run it through the machine. I usually run 2 full reservoirs of this mixture through it. The limescale comes right out. After cleaning just run some clean water through and you are good to go. Highly recommend this. Just bought another one for my daughter as she heads to college next year.

Works, lots of buttons, don’t miss oneIt works. It makes coffee abdcthe brewer doesn’t impact the flavor of the coffee. Have used the carafe, the burner keeps coffee hot, not the carafe. That’s fine. The water reservoir is way at the back abd hardcto reach. Because the reservoir is long and shallow it needs to be filled in place. Reservoir comes off but is hard to hold level to fill. It’s just a bit tall for my coffee bar station that goes under my cabinets, especially to lift out the carafe side coffee baskets. The cup side is fine. A slide out version on the carafe side would work better. We like the option of carafe and cup.

Keurig K-Duo Plus vs Hamilton Beach FlexBrewI purchased both of these pots at the same time (Keurig here on Amazon and the FlexBrew from our local big-box store). Here is my analysis:Things these two share in common:* They make great coffee!* They both make a carafe or a single serving with a K-cup or with your own grounds in a k-cup adapter.* They both make a carafe with up to 12 cups, or 60 oz (you lose some fluid in the brew process, achieving more like 56 to 57 oz).* They are both programmable for an auto-brew.* They both have an option for strong/bold coffee and the option applies to both the carafe and the single-serving side.Keurig K-Duo Plus pros:* Attractive.* Small footprint good for smaller kitchens.* Has a reservoir to hold water for multiple cups.* Comes with a thermal carafe.* Comes with a gold filter and water filter.* Has easy-to-read push buttons for size options.* Carafe and single cup options come out of the same spout – less cleaning involved.* Fast brew process.* Little to no steam escaping the top, so it seems safe to place under cabinets. And because of the separate removable reservoir, it can be used just fine beneath cabinets without pulling it out to fill.Keurig K-Duo Plus cons:* Expensive.* Size options limited. For a carafe, you can choose 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups. For a single cup, you have the same choices (in ounces). There are no in-between sizes, and the maximum K-cup size you can make is 12 oz.* Coffee filter basket is a bit hard to pull out and push back in.* Gold filter does not have a handle.* To use a “My K-cup” adapter with your own grounds requires fully pulling out the coffee basket, reaching up inside, and popping out the piece that punctures the K-cup. So switching between K-cups and your own grounds for a single brew is super cumbersome.* Does not include a “My K-cup” adapter for your own grounds. That must be purchased separately.* Height is quite tall and it can be difficult to see the button controls if your cabinets are low or cast a shadow. Could be difficult to insert a K-cup for some.Hamilton Beach FlexBrew pros:* MUCH more affordable.* Less buttons to push as water output is based upon how much water you put in at the time of brewing.* Single serving side will do up to 14 ounces.* Single serving size is dependent upon how much water you put in, thus making the size more customizable – so you can do a small espresso cup, for example, with only 4 ounces.* Carafe sizes are also customizable up to 12 cups, based upon how much water your put in.* Slightly shorter than the Keurig.* Includes a mesh filter for the single-serving side, for using your own grounds.* Storage for the single-serving mesh filter is beneath the single-serving drip tray which is quite handy.* Coffee is really hot, so you can add liquid creamer and not feel like you have to microwave it.Hamilton FlexBrew cons:* Not as attractive as the Keurig. Bulkier.* Does NOT include a gold filter. That must be purchased separately.* Does not have a reservoir that stays filled and ready to go. It must be filled each time you brew.* Takes longer to brew than the Keurig.* Two separate spouts for carafe and for single serving. Therefore, two spouts that need cleaning/descaling.* No thermal carafe included (They have that as another model, but it only does 10 cups).* More difficult to fill the reservoirs since they are at the back of the machine. If placing this beneath cabinets, one would probably need to pull the machine out when using in order to reach and fill the reservoirs.Final decision: in the end, I went for the FlexBrew, as I decided I preferred the ability to make up to 14 ounces on the single-serving side, so it fully fills my cup. While the instructions say not to exceed 10 ounces for actual K-cups, I have been putting in 14 ounces, selecting the bold brew, and it seems to work just fine. I also like that it’s easy to switch between K-cups and using your own grounds on the single-serving side. Plus, there’s storage for the mesh filter right on the pot, so I don’t have to go searching for the accessory. The better price tag is a big factor too, of course. I did end up buying a gold filter and a separate thermal carafe for those days when needed, although we usually drink the full carafe pretty quickly. Even with the purchase of the thermal carafe and gold filter, the price tag on this is still significantly less than the Keurig. I didn’t need to place this beneath a cabinet, so that issue wasn’t significant for me. If you need yours beneath a cabinet, I would probably recommend the Keurig.

Great upgrade from our old KeurigWe have owned a few Keurigs over the past 10-15 years and this one is the hands down best. I love the ability to make a full pot when my wife and I are both home over the weekends or making myself a cup at a time with a pod when she is traveling. Flavor and strength is great for both the pod and the full pot and eapecially love the carafe which keeps the full pot hot for a long time. The ability to move the reservoir is an added bonus so you can place it on the side (or rear) that makes most sense for your setup. Its a large enough reservoir so I am not having to refill it with water daily like our previous Keurig. Very easy to setup and very easy to use. Lots of flexibility with cup/pot size and strength. I haven’t found anything yet with the design or functionality I would change.

Fantastic Coffee Maker for both a Pot and Single CupJust bought this coffee maker a week ago and love it. It is our second combined coffeemaker. Our first was a Cuisinart. (I do not recommend). The single tank receptacle for both brew types is perfect. You lift it off the maker, take it to the water faucet and then but it back. No leaking (like the Cuisinart) No more having to try to fill two different water tanks with either the pot or another container. The flavor of the coffee is excellent. The thermal carafe keeps brewed coffee warm and pours with no spills!!!I cannot recommend this coffee pot more. If you are looking for a two option coffee pot, this is a very very good one.

So easy to use!We bought our first Kuerig about 11 years ago and it has been so reliable and hardworking. A true warrior in our early morning routine. But when we had guests over it was slightly annoying not being able to just make a pot of coffee for everyone. This purchase is a game changer. I already know it’s going to last a long time because of the reliability of their other products and now we can make MORE coffee when we need it, like on Saturday mornings after bad decision making the night before. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Blown Away by This JeurigI am a Keurig fanatic and have the Keurig Supreme Plus which I love because of the features and outstanding flavor. But lately, I decided I wanted a second brewer for those times I’d like to have a carafe. I researched everything I could find on the Keurig k-duo Plus and took the plunge. I am beyond thrilled! It arrived today, I did the one time cleansing brew, and I am now in coffee heaven. I love how this comes with a thermal carafe which keeps the coffee hot for hours, and the flavor is incredible. Being a thermal carafe, there’s no need for a warming tray that can cause coffee to become bitter. It’s so simple to use and I can make a single cup with a k-cup if I choose, or an entire pot. This machine is so easy to clean, brew, and work with no confusion at all. In fact, I can’t come up with a single negative!I now have both Keurig on my counter because each has its own special features for different situations, and I couldn’t be hapoier. Keurig hit it out of the park with both of these models!

It broke after 3 months, but Keurig replaced itAfter just 3 months of light use, the unit wouldn’t turn on anymore. I figured we were just out of luck unless we wanted to spend $30 to ship back the dead one. However, after contacting Keurig directly, it was a fairly simple process to get a replacement unit delivered to us without shipping back the dead unit, so instead of giving this coffee maker 1 or 2 stars, I’m giving it 4 stars. It is actually a great double unit, and Keurig’s stellar customer service makes it a great deal. Even if it doesn’t last for 20 years, it’s still a good value.

Best coffee makerI bought this so when folks are over, I can make a pot instead of cup by cup pods. It works great and a single 60oz tank automatically delivers the correct amount of water for pod or carafe. And the price is great too.

Basic but good machine. UPDATEDMy wife and I had been looking for a multi-purpose machine, one which makes both a carafe and a pod of coffee. I had seen this and after some investigation, we bought it.Observations:This is a basic machine which does not have a lot of features.I’ve read a number of reviews complaining the carafe spout design allows a few drops of beverage to spot the countertop. All one has to do is slow down when pouring. The wide spout is conducive to pouring quickly. Me, myself, I pour my coffee over the sink so any drips or drops go in it. Alternatively, a dish towel could be placed on the counter and poured over it.Keurig uses a 5 ounce cup measure for the carafe side. The carafe is 12 cups. 12×5=60, which is the exact reservoir size.READ the directions! This machine is easy to use and does exactly what it says it will do. To expect it to do X when it isn’t designed to do, it is unreasonable to expect that performance. If you need a different set of features, find the brewer which has them. Don’t buy it and then gripe it doesn’t do something it was never designed or equipped to do.Pros:The machine does exactly what it says it will do, day in and day out.It has a 2 hour auto shut-off for the carafe side and a 2-3 minute shut off on the pod size.Easy and intuitive to use.It is simple to maintain. I descale it as needed with the Keurig solution. I descale about every 3 months. Depending on your water, you may have to descale more often, or less depending on your use.You can brew a carafe and use the pod side while the warming plate of the carafe is on. Haven’t tried to brew both sides at once.It can be programmed to auto-brew at any given time, however, you must set the auto-brew function each brew cycle. This prevents the machine from automatically brewing a pre-programmed setting when the reservoir is nearly empty or empty. This is simply a safety measure.Cons:The directions which came with my machine says none of the parts are dishwasher safe. I would think for the money, a simple change of plastics composition would be in order without raising the price. The carafe glass stains easily, though it is easy to clean. The glass feels flimsy but I haven’t dropped it.It doesn’t come with the gold mesh filter, though it can be ordered or purchased at the grocery store.UPDATE:I’ve regularly descaled the machine with vinegar. Today however, I could not get the descale cycle completed, that is, without some frustration. I’d run out of vinegar and had (fortunately) 2 bottles of the Keurig descaler solution. I used the first bottle and was shocked at the amount of scale it removed. After completing the Duo instructions for descaling, I encountered 2 problems. First, the descale warning light would not go away. The second and most frustrating, is that in the carafe rinse, I would not get the full amount of required water to dispense. Instead of 12 cups, it gave me 8. I thought it was my mistake and I refilled the reservoir and tried it again, making sure I selected the 12 cup carafe amount. This time I got 2 and in the last attempt I got perhaps a few ounces. The pump made a whining, thudding noise.Spending a few minutes on Google told me the issue with no water was either the pump was out or debris in the line. I ran the second bottle of Keurig descale solution and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I then repeated the rinse instructions and this time I got the full amount of dispensed water. The descale lights did not turn off as expected. I learned there is a manual reset sequence which solves it. With the power “ON” press and hold the 8 cup and 10 cup selection buttons for about 5 seconds. Mine turned off immediately.
