KRUPS Simply Brew Compact Filter Drip Coffee Maker, 5-Cup, Silver

 First of all Amazon’s delivery service leaves little to be desired. I was home all day expecting my order to be delivered but as usual, the delivery pesonnel did not ring my doorbell.
In fact it seems they didn’t even make it all the way up the steps and basically dumped and scattered my packages on my porch far from the front door even though there are concealed areas on my porch where they could have placed the items so they’re not out in the open unprotected. Amazon really needs to fix this issue with their deliverers.
Secondly, I love the look and size of the machine. It’s as compact as I hoped it would be. The coffee is hot and the machine slow brews the coffee which enhances the taste. However, it is LOUD, so loud it frightened me the first time I used it It sounds like there are marbles rolling around inside and I’m hesitant to use it. You can hear the loudness in the video.
It also came in a plain cardboard box with a basic computer printed label and with no manual, warranty card or any other paperwork even though in the description it made reference to those being included in the box.
The price also fell a few dollars the day I received my package.

I wanted to love this machine but with the disturbingly loud noise especially, sadly, I will be returning it. The search continues.

First of all manufacturers need to stop using the term “cup”. A cup has a standard measurement which is 8 fluid ounces. It is misleading and a shady business practice to fool consumers into believing that the pot is larger than what it actually is. Please change your description to what the machine actually brews, which is 5 servings of coffee. This pot holds 24 ounces of water which would work out to be about 4.8 ounces or less after brewing per serving of 5. That said I am satisfied with this small coffee maker.

Our programmable 12 cup Krups coffee maker finally broke down after faithful (sometimes muti) daily use for over six years. We received this one the same day it was ordered and set up was quick and easy- a fast wipe down on the outside and two runs of just water.
Pro’s: Very sleek and attractive. We knew that it being a10 cup machine it would be smaller than our old one, but the size difference to the 12 cup is very noticeable. The water reservoir lid snaps shut- I don’t know if it makes it less easy for debris to get in, but it feels like it now. The coffee brewed quickly and tasted great- idk if it’s a Krups thing because the old machine did this too, or if all coffee makers have this issue (it’s been over six years since I’ve used any other brand) but about half a cup of water is lost to condensation so we always add an extra half a cup of water now. Comes with a reusable filter.
Cons: It’s supposed to be 10 cups, but because they measure a cup as 5 oz you’re making less than you think. The warming plate turns off after only an hour and there’s no audible sound that let’s you know it’s turning off just in case you want to flip it back on. The space to add water to the reservoir is pretty tight- it’s just wider than a packet of sugar (photo att). We’re lucky enough to have a sink faucet that has an extendable hose so we use that, but if we didnt I’m very sure I’d be spilling water everywhere. There is no clock/it’s not programmable- I was pretty annoyed when I saw that it didn’t have these features, however the onus of fully reading the specifications before purchase is on me. I’m just… put off by it being such a simple machine for costing 60 bucks.
So far we’re happy with this purchase and are hoping the sting of the price will fade the longer we have it.

Husband wanted a new coffee maker with less “techy stuff” so I bought this. It was the least amount of buttons on a medium size unit. Husband loves it. Says the only thing to remember if I use it for heating tea or hot cocoa water is it’s HOT. Much hotter than his last pot, and that is a good thing. He no longer has to microwave a fresh cup of coffee to get it hot enough. And he’s really happy with the lack of “bells and whistles” he just wanted to add coffee and water and push the button. No clock or timer or other extra stuff, and this was perfect.

I had to replace my 8-cup Russell Hobbs retro one-switch coffee maker because all of its accessories had been discontinued. I needed a simple & compact machine within my budget and this is the closest contender, although a 10-cup carafe is too much. It looks good from the outside but the plastic inside looks flimsy & cheap. I hope the whole unit doesn’t burn out soon as some reviewers stated . My immediate disappointment is the coffee doesn’t come out hot. I am not sold on this machine yet but I will give it a 4 star and the benefit of doubt. Boy, I do wish I could find a 8-cup glass carafe replacement for my retro red Russell Hobbs.
