Okay so there are 4 parts total the pitcher base, the pitcher nosel/cover, the steeping column and the neck connection. As a whole the only thing I really had a complaint about is when you take the grounds/ leafs out from steeping and you have to find a place.to drain them. That doesn’t really bother me its how your supposed to drain it. Your supposed to elevate it and set it at an angle because there is no drain at the bottom just the sides. Out side of that it’s easy to clean easy to manage and mess free. With that being said the clear plastic is still in fact clear so kudos.
As a pro tip giving the lid a 1/4 turn and it will give you a pour spout with out having to take off the lid entirely.

I rarely write a good review, like so many, I tend to only write when there is a problem. Not this time! This cold brew system has been one of the BEST choices I have made for coffee brewing. I LOVE my coffee, but over the years I found it was starting to upset my stomach. My doc said I was producing too much acid on my own, and needed to quit adding to it. Even with Rx meds, I was unable to continue drinking even a weak morning cup. Then I was told to try cold brew as the acid is less. I found this system. Life changing! I can enjoy my morning coffee again! In the winter I can warm it up in the microwave, but I am happy with drinking it cold as well! I have had no acid reflux after switching over, and this product makes it so easy to do. The filter works wonderfully. I like it strong so I have played around with my grind and the amount used, as well as type of coffee. (Fresh ground-Semi coarse, I fill that filter as they say to, and a dark roast) I pour all the water through the filled filter. I shake it, I let it brew 12 hours +/- on counter, then put in the fridge till morning. Carefully take filter out, and Done! I find it easy to use, very easy to clean and some terrific coffee to enjoy!

My son and husband love iced coffee. I was making them a cup of coffee using my Keurig but found it too hard to cool down the coffee without the ice watering it down. This coffee maker solved my problem. It is very easy to use and cleans easily. I let it sit in the refrigerator for minimum of 12 hours and have a nice container of iced coffee. One suggestion, after filling the filter with coffee to the top of the mesh and closing the lid on the water filled container, I turn the container upside-down. This allows the water to weigh down the coffee grounds to keep them lower in the filter. If I forget to turn my container upside-down, the coffee grounds will riser higher than the water level and not be absorbed by the water leaving me with a weaker tasting coffee.

This is my second purchase of a cold brew coffee maker. But not the same as my previous one.
The old one I had was made out of glass and unfortunately, it was pretty thin and lasted for a year and a half. It developed a crack near the lid on top. So I decided to get a new one before the crack propagates to the bottom of the glass jug. This was an item with a decent amount of reviews and was ranking 4.5 stars.
This item exceeds the previous cold brew maker in terms of rating by the number of reviews and roughly the same ranking.
What do I like?
It is made out of plastic, but of high quality and should last longer
The lid completely closes the container so there is no chance of spilling.
Much quicker to completely soak the coffee grounds all that is needed is to give it a good shake. Most items in this category usually need stirring.
Everything just screws on.
What I dislike
The instructions mention if you want to make it more concentrated it is recommended to pull the filter out and drain the remaining liquid into the rest of the concentrate for 45mins. But there is no easy way to do that unless you have a separate container where you can pour the concentrate and for the filter to rest above it.
Because this a close and shake cold brew maker would imagine the rubber seal will be the first thing to go. But im sure that can be easily replaced.
I have not given a flavour rating as I think it is irrelevant to this item because you’re never going to get apple to apple comparison between other individuals who have written a review. But what I will say in comparison to my old one, the ratio between coffee and water seems higher than my previous one which required 1.1L to 80g of coffee. The instructions for this item require around 950ML to 108g of Coffee so it is more concentrated.

I just made my first batch and dang is it tasty. It makes a concentrate which allows you to dilute it with a creamer or milk rather than water for a more latte like beverage… In a similar way I bet you could use it to make frozen cold brews without the ice watering it down.
The whole thing seems well constructed and can be completely disassembled for cleaning (although the screw mechanism on the filter can be somewhat tricky to get the angle right) once properly assembled though it makes a good seal when closed and kind of “snaps” into an open state for dispensing when you twist it in a rather satisfying way.
It’s also worth noting that the filter has an extremely fine mesh (great for minimizing coffee grinds in your drink) that feels like it might get flimsy over time but seems to be well secured as far as I can tell so time will have to tell on that one.
The whole thing is made of a durable yet flexible plastic rather than glass so it breaking is not a concern.
All in all very satisfied.

After using this for six months, every day I can summarize the following:
1) The coffee will eventually stain the clear plastic, or perhaps it actually scratches it ever so slightly. Regardless, even with gentle hot soapy cleanings, the plastic looks like “worn”.
2) The inner filter that locks to the main cap does not lock snugly. You can’t really twist it tighter to ensure a good seal. This sometimes allows grounds to escape into the outer filtered area when you shake the coffee maker- making for an annoying cup of coffee sometimes. A better design is all that is needed.
3) The top seals with an o-ring. I personally hate o-rings, as you must remove them to clean them every time, or after a few weeks they will build up a little mold on the inside. Coffee crud and o-rings don’t mix. If you’re one of those people that has found o-rings annoying in portable cups, etc. – then you’ll HATE this coffee maker!
4) Cleaning out the filter is relatively easy. The filter is just plastic, so you should be careful not to use any metal utensils near it.
5) I have never put it in the dishwasher, for fear of warping the plastic. All the parts need to mate perfectly for this coffee maker to function. Hand washing only is a major draw back for me personally.
This coffee maker is a smart purchase if you’re on the fence about whether you’d enjoy cold brew coffee versus regular drip. You can experience cold brews benefits without having to invest too much. These were on sale for half price during Amazon days.
If you already are a cold brew convert, then I would suggest investing in a coffee maker that has a GLASS BODY and a METAL FILTER rather than anything plastic. Yes, you’re gonna pay top dollar, but hopefully your investment won’t disintegrate before your eyes like this one does or require white gloves to handle.
If this is all you can afford, then, it’s probably the best value out there. I won’t be buying this particular model as a replacement though.

THIS WOULD BE A TEN STAR REVIEW if it were possible! ! ! Recently my 10 year old coffee maker went out on me and I had to opt for St**b***’s $5.00 cup of diluted mud while I tried to make up my mind on what type of coffee maker to get. UGGGHHHHH – ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON! Iced coffee & cold brew ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT if done right. Instead of replacing my electric coffee maker, I decided to get myself a Takeya Cold Brewer because I enjoy Cold Brewed Coffee (CBC) a lot more and no matter what you get, Home Brewed is absolutely the two hands down WINNER in comparison to SB. I happened to be in a ‘goodwill-like’ store a week ago and found a NEW One Quart Takeya for just $5. I brought it home, washed it and immediately put it to use. I had my first mind blowing cup the following morning. Now I’m anxiously anticipating receiving the 2 Quart Takeya in a few days and really look forward to being able to brew enough to last up to a couple of weeks from it – more like a week’s amount of coffee. My choice of coffee is dark roasted, full flavored TopShelf Lion’s Maine Mushroom Coffee. The Lion’s Maine Nootropic in this coffee is a very welcome ingredient that’s highly effective.
UPDATE: The Pairing of the Takeya Cold Brew Coffee Maker and my coffee of choice is producing the best coffee I have ever had and it’s beyond easy to brew a batch with substance (not diluted) that lasts more than a week unrefrigerated – nearly syrupy. I fill a 20 oz. BPA-free bottle 1/3 full with the CBC and put it in my freezer and once it’s frozen, I add my unchilled CBC to the bottle and Im good for the day. The flavor from this method is excellent, but more water can be added if you just want more brew to drink. Diluted, this brew still retains full flavor. Tons of caffeine to shift your morning into HIGH GEAR W/ CLARITY OF MIND, BUT WITHOUT ANY CRASH OR JITTERS. I guarantee that one sip will have you hooked for life – it really is this great!
NOTE:
I know everyone has their own personal favorite, but I’ve been hooked on the typically electric coffee maker brew of TopShelf Lion’s Maine Mushroom Coffee for about a year now and gone through more than 20 bags of this EXCELLENT coffee (since October 1, 2021) and look forward to many more. I’ve given a few away as gifts and all recipients have loved it. It is everything the seller says it is and it’s flavor is definitively Top Shelf, if you use the right amount of grinds with an electric coffee maker. If it’s bitter, you’re using too much grinds. I use a very little amount of Stevia and it’s perfect. IMO, this coffee IS SOOO SMOOTH that there is no need for any type of creamer. The Takeya really does make a great coffee greater!
I’m from Hawai’i and have had the finest Kona Coffees available. When I’m in the mood, I create my own blend of Top Shelf & Kona coffee for extra special occasions.
NOTE: if your current choice of coffee grinds are fine and you notice sendiment at the bottom of the Takeya Brewer just remember the expensive delicious chocolate covered coffee beans we coffee snobs enjoy – LOL. If the grinds are small enough to get through the fine mesh, stir or shake your drink up and it’ll go down without much noticing and if you don’t like that toss / waste your current stash and get yourself a bag of coarsly ground beans or just stick with your overpriced diluted beverage from SB’s. To each their own.

Hey you like coffee? You like ice? Did you ever pay $4 for a bottle of cold brew coffee from some hipster operation? Get ready then to save and enjoy!
I bought this for the summer to get a cold caffeine kick in the hot hot mornings it’s October now and I’m still using it!!!!
Have you even had cold brew coffee bro?
OF COURSE YOU HAVEN’T! Not until you’ve had it poured out over ice from this wonderful device!
It’s light it’s durable it makes a good amount of coffee.
Well maybe not enough if your drinking tons of coffee I am getting 4-5 well filled cups. If that’s your daily does then calm it down that’s way too much coffee!

The positive reviews prompted me to splurge the $30 for this all-plastic vessel. It appears functional at first glance, but it’s not that user-friendly in design and function. First, to fill the coffee filter, it can only be done if it’s removed from the lid, and the lid is what holds the filter submerged. As a result, half of the grind doesn’t even touch the water, and floats to the top of the filter no matter if you add the water first int he carafe or if you add it by dripping it through the tiny spout because the filter is already inside and in the way. No matter what, the grind will float to the top. Then, regardless ho long you leave it in the water, the coffee will not properly dissipate the flavour, because it’s compactly held against the wall of the filter. Giving it “a few twists” as the directions suggest only muddies the water a bit, doesn’t add any more “coffee” to it. In my case, I tried keeping the grain in the can for up to 3 days, shook it at least 4x per day, and still the top grains were dry…. The clean-up is a cinch, it’s probably the only thing that’s useful about this contraption – but as another reviewer wrote: having the bottom of the filter as a solid “cup” makes getting the coffee out if it a bit of a task. After 2 uses, I’m returning it for a disappointed refund, and going back to loose grind in a water jug, a long handle spoon, and a good strainer.
