Lovely percolator for off-stove useUpdate Sept 27, 2022: I have had it now for a few months and still love it. I bought a little tag for it from the $ bins at Target, now it’s even cuter. It cleans easily and I don’t miss my Keurig at all. The reheat feature is the best and I use it all the time. I didn’t like the acrylic knob or the aluminum down inside the bottom (see pics), BUT I can overlook those because of the great functionality this percolator has.———————————————Original post July 2022I researched many brands and types of percolators. I was initially set on a stovetop one, but the rewarming feature and auto shut-off and auto ready of this unit made it appealing. I didn’t want to get distracted with the kids and forget my coffee was still heating on the stove an hour later! Yikes.I have been very impressed with this one. I realized that like most coffee makers it is basically a 6oz cup not 8 oz, so when I want to make 4 cups of coffee I fill my glass measuring cup to 3 cups or 24 oz, pour it in and add 4-5 coffee scoops/tbls of coffee and it makes it just perfectly.It does have markings inside that go only as low as 6 cups, so this is why I measure out 24 oz, because it would only be 4 cups if there was a mark for it. Inside the coffee basket there are markings that go from 4-12, so I’m not sure why they didn’t do the same for the inside of the kettle, but it is only 6-12. Not a big deal because I don’t use the markings. Can hardly see the ones on the coffee basket anyway.The percolator states that it is all stainless steel, but it does have a very small heating part in the bottom that is aluminum where the stem sits down in. So that part will discolor and have a slight corroded look over time, but it’s fine.I sometimes leave the extra coffee in the pot until the next day, but take out the coffee basket, and then reheat by turning it on and letting it get the coffee piping hot again. It’s way hotter than my Keuring ever gets, which I enjoy because I can add half and half and its still too hot to drink for a few mins. I like my coffee REALLY hot and REALLY dark brewed. This unit meets that way better than a Keuring or even my expensive Nespresso ever could.If you ever accidentally make it too weak it’s pretty easy to add more coffee to the basket and brew again, but only after it has cooled enough to open and for the unit to start again and not just keep warm. The keep warm feature is also a favorite. After pouring my first cup I just place the unit back on the base and press the button again and it will keep it warm for another 30 mins or so.Brilliant unit. So happy I didn’t get a stove top one. This makes it a breeze with no babysitting or accidentally leaving it too long. Also, the basket holes are so tiny that only the finest coffee grounds could possibly escape, but they have to be miniscule.

Never going back to dripWe decided on this percolator after once again having to toss out yet another automatic coffee maker that eventually clogged up and stopped working. We have hard water and don’t always have jugs of drinking water on hand(especially since the pandemic) so we were replacing our automatics every 6 months to a year. I was just fed up. If you suffer the same frustration I definitely recommend this. It’s slightly more effort to set up and clean but I’ve gotten used to the routine pretty quickly and there’s no way for it to get clogged by hard water build up, as every component that comes in contact with water is able to be cleaned. I love my coffee but I’m not what I’d call a coffee snob, so yes I just use pre ground coffee like maxwell house and Folgers and I’ve had no issues with coffee grounds in my brew. I do use percolator filters (I found a pack of melitta filters, 300 for $5 on Amazon) so those will do the job if you don’t want to grind your beans. You do need to find a ratio that works for you but by the 3rd pot we had it figured out. I noticed most of the complaints are in regards to the warming setting. I haven’t had any issues personally. I don’t have a problem remembering to hit the button when I place it back on the warming disc, and when it does shut off it still stays warm for a good while, maybe an hour. For us this works great. It’s definitely an adjustment at first but we’re happy we made the switch!

A great cup of coffee!I ordered on Saturday and received the Percolator Monday afternoon. When I was a child we lived next door to my Aunt and Uncle. It was such a pleasure to visit in the mornings. Upon entering their home the aroma of fresh percolated coffee was a such a warm welcome. My parents drank instant coffee and I never could learn to tolerate it much less learn to like it, so I purchased my first drip coffee maker in the early 70’s. Recently our Cuisinart coffee maker began to show signs of failure and as I shopped the internet for a replacement I discovered Percolators were still available for home use and remembering the aroma and taste of my Aunt’s coffee, I ordered a 12 cup pot. The first morning as the percolator brewed coffee the aroma reminded me days gone by. It was true 65 years ago and it’s true today … there is nothing compared to the aroma and taste of a freshly percolated cup of coffee.

Love percolated coffee in the mornings and smelling it brewed.This coffee pot looked great. It was easy to clean and it worked very well. The only issue is it does not have a warming setting, so if you drink a lot of coffee in the morning it wont be an issue; however, if not the coffee will have to be heated in a microware later.

Versatile electric kettlei like both coffee and tea/ however, the traditional coffee maker or tea pot comes with several issues. they are too small to use. only a few cups and i have to boil them again or prepare again. also, the traditional tea pot did not come with heating or boiling functions, and i have to get additional electric kettle to do so. then i found this one, which fits my desires very well. it looks decent with Mediterranean style. the integrated percolator could filter well, which could be cleaned separately. only a few mins, 12 cups could be served. i could use it to make coffee, tea, hot cocoa or even oatmeal. for sure, it could also act as normal electric kettle. like it.
