Perfect Single Cup CoffeemakerI wanted a single cup coffeemaker to use in my camper. My requirements were that it be small, easy to clean, low power consumption and most importantly; be able to accommodate my favorite Thermos mug which is slightly taller than 7 inches (sans the lid). My frustration lied in that very few manufacturers (including this one) provide the distance from the spout to the base for their machines. To me, I think that is a rather important piece of information. I had to search through several pages of answered questions to learn that distance for this model is 7 3/16 inches. BINGO! All my requirements were met, and the price was right! So, I tried it out right away running it through a couple cycles to remove any impurities from the manufacturing process. It gurgled and churned in a rhythmic fashion like all coffeemakers seem to do. The first thing I noticed is that the unit gets very warm after brewing so use caution if handling right after using it. B&D recommends waiting 3 to 4 minutes between brews and that’s probably why. Also, if you try to add water right after a brew cycle, it will contact the heating element and spit steam and hot water back at you. However, this IS a single cup brewer, so if you are making multiple cups at a time, you might want a multi-cup machine anyway. You can brew any size cup you want up to 16oz. The filter basket is made with a fine nylon mesh and has almost a 1 cup capacity so it should be able to brew as strong a cup as one could desire. It will accept coffee pods & pouches but not k-cups. The filter basket and holder are oriented to fit in a specific manner, and both are easy to clean. It comes with a decent insulated 16oz travel mug. It is all plastic inside and out. B&D instructs you to leave the lid on when brewing with this mug. I have never heard of that before, so I decided to try it. The lid is slightly tapered to allow the coffee to drain into the sipping notch. I placed the mug with the opening facing to the rear of the machine and brewed a cup. The coffee went right in with just a little left on the lid when done. Like many coffeemakers of this type, this one has a push start button that stays on even if the unit is unplugged. The advantage of this feature is that some users may want to use a timer outlet and prepare their brew beforehand. That way when ready, they can grab their mug and go. If for some reason the button is pushed accidently before plugging it in or adding water the machine will turn off after 10-15 seconds. This is a wonderful coffeemaker for the one cup crowd. Just a couple notes: If you are going to travel with or store this machine, make sure to tip it upside down first as the reservoir retains a little water even after brewing. Also, the base lacks rubber feet so it can easily slide when placed on smooth surfaces.

Decent little coffee maker for the price. The good: It works with my existing Yeti 20 oz travel mug (there’s nothing wrong, per se, with the mug that comes with it, but it’s a little smaller than I’m used to, and I prefer to drink coffee, which is after all a hot and acidic substance, out of a stainless steel mug rather than a plastic one; I should also point out that though it fits a 20 oz mug, you can still only pour 16 oz of water into it, or it will overflow), and the basket is easy to clean out and doesn’t require a filter. The bad: It leaks a bit around the mug itself. I fold up a paper towel and put it under the mug, which makes the problem manageable, but it’s still not ideal. Given the $25 price point, this isn’t really a fatal flaw, so I think it still deserves four stars. I’ve had it for about a month and a half now, and it’s chugging along, but I can’t yet speak to its longevity. Time will tell if it keeps all four of those stars.

Surprised how much I liked this productI’m not a coffee connoisseur but I love a strong, balanced, low acidic coffee (whole food pleasant morning buzz, FYI). I feel some of the negative reviews either had a faulty unit or the expectation for a $25 coffee machine were just unrealistic. For the price, this machine was excellent! It’s easy to clean, easy to use, and functioned as expected. I put 4 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee to 15oz of water. It was strong and balanced. At home I have a Miele built-in unit but I bought this for hotel travel and camping which for those purpose I think this unit is great! However, if your looking for a daily single serve workhorse I don’t think long term this would be a good value. It’s basic, no frills, no customized options. Essentially, water in, coffee in, push button start and you get what you get, 15oz of coffee lol. Any expectations beyond that are probably unreasonable.I feel happy with the value and the product, for me it checked all the boxes. It’s also easy to clean which I do after every use. The 3 minutes to wash and rinse two parts and tip the extra water out is minimal and will help this brewer last.

This is a win-win 🥰. The coffee maker is easy to use, clean and is most definitely Worth Every Penny. My new travel buddyI travel for work and many of the more expensive hotels don’t have a coffee maker in the room (or if you have a phobia of using a coffee maker that’s been used over and over by the general public). This B&D machine was ideal! I had no problem taking in my checked bag and it worked perfectly. I did not use any paper filters, simply flushed the used grounds, rinsed the basket in the bathroom sink, all of 1-2 minutes. Brews fast and very hot. It was great to have coffee first thing in the morning, and hot tea before bed. I did swap out the mug as my mug is able to snap closed, the cup that is included has a lid, but not spill proof. Would highly recommend if you travel and want to have coffee before you face the world.

Black & Decker single serve coffee maker CM618Just an ideal single serve coffee maker that does what it was designed to do perfectly. Imagine a great cup of coffee in a minute and a half with auto shut off. Sturdy construction, with a good travel mug that the coffee brews into. The brewing is quick and the coffee tasty. I love that I can have my favorite kind of fresh ground coffee anytime and not have to deal with pods.It comes with its own filter or you can buy paper filters. I haven’t experienced much difference in taste with or without the filter. It’s own coffee basket is quick and easy to rinse out and be ready to go for that next cup.You can pack and travel with it so you’ll know you’ll have a good cup of coffee whatever you’re destination is, whenever you want it.

My Favorite Coffee MakerI have owned many coffee makers and all types including regular drip pots and the ones needing the pods. Out of all of them, I love this one the most. I have a very small kitchen with very limited counter space. But I will always make room for a coffee pot. This coffee maker is small, doesn’t take hardly any counter space at all. It’s a drip coffee maker which I much prefer over the pods. My favorite tumbler fit’s where the one provided sits. 100% would buy again.

Better than KeurigI have had two Keurigs and a Cuisinart and this coffee maker is much better. I always used the refillable filter pod in the Keurig and Cuisinart, but they hold a very small amount of coffee. This little coffee maker has a much bigger reusable filter. I use 4 full scoops of coffee each time and it is about half full. I couldn’t get half that in a Keurig reusable pod. Simple, easy to use, and super cheap.

It works!Slightly awkward to pour the water in. I tilt the coffee maker to make it easier. It would e better if the base was flat. It’s molded to want a certain size coffee cup and I use all kinds so they don’t sit flat, but it works, the coffee is hot, and flavor is good.
