About Gaggia

With humble beginnings as a cafe owner in Milan, Achille Gaggia’s ingenuity and passion for coffee inspired him to invent a new way to brew espresso without the use of steam. That vision led to the creation of the Lampo device which produced the characteristic crema which has since become the hallmark of quality espresso.

Hyped up for….Not a fan.. super fast warm up time, shot pressure seemed very inconsistent. No pressure gauge. No temp gauge. Learning how to “temp surf” without any reading is more than i want to be bothered with. At the price, it IS a solid little machine, weird group head alignment, but solid. Surprisingly quiet with the pump running. As stated elsewhere… temp inconstancies will ruin your day. Pull a shot THEN flip the switch for steam… wait a minute or two. Light comes on, then even though you purged it 10 seconds before, expect copious amounts of water to squirt out of the steam wand at first. It starts strong, but the pressure in mine dropped rapidly, and it was rather weak.Steam your milk first, THEN run water until the steam light goes out. You may get perfect temp, or waaayyy hot water to start your shot.If you like pre infusion, you can do it here, but you’ll have to work for it.There’s better out there for not much more money.. I’m keeping my barista pro over this

Learning curve too complicatedI’ve tried almost everything and the expresó comes out fast , watery and no cream…recent beans grinded fine 1-2 set, leave machine 15-20 in the morning to heat , have watched videos and nothing. Don’t know what to do but keep trying
