A coworker was at my house one day and saw the process I went through to fill a kettle, heat my electric flat top stove, wait for it to start whistling, make my tea, and wait for the stove to cool down. Pointed out an electric kettle would be more electric efficient. I’ve been fighting getting one for years because I was very stuck in my ways about it. However, while working remotely, my office is upstairs and I can only be away from my desk at assigned break times. This makes it hard to make a new cup of tea every 30-45 mins, so I broke down and bought this kettle to keep in my office. This thing is super sleek. Easy to use. So fast. So quiet. And has an auto shut off. I’m so excited and I’ll never go back to using the stove!

Product is easy to assemble ✔️ Heats water to a boil fairly fast ✔️ One pot with element so it’s not dishwasher appropriate 👎🏾Actual lid does not come off so you have to wash through lid hole (which with carpal tunnel is doable but a little challenging as this is glass and I don’t want to test it’s breakability lol)👎🏾 Overall for its purpose to provide a moderate pot of booking hot water fast 👍🏾

Bought this to make hot tea in my room. It is rated at 1500 watts but only pulls 1200 watts. brings water to a boil in about 5 to 6 minutes and then automatically shuts off. It does about half a gallon of water at the max line. For me the opening at the top is just big enough for me to get my hand inside to clean. if you have smaller hands then you will be able to clean it easily, if you have big hands then it is harder to clean. Have had it less than a month so time will tell.

This kettle is built using Strix kettle controls which was important for me, as they are known for being a top supplier from a reliability and safety stand point. Amazon Basic’s use of Strix controls set this kettle apart from the myriad of cheap kettles available from China. It heats quickly and shuts off once reaching 100 C (as confirmed with my instant read thermometer).
Why did I check this with a thermometer? Two reasons:
1. I was trying to make French Press coffee with the water around 93.3 C (200F) and wanted to see how long a L of water once boiled took to cool to the desired temp.
2 I had read reports of this style kettle not shutting off and potentially boiling dry and causing an issue. So far the only way it has not shut off after reaching 100 C has been if the lid was not closed. The lid needs to be closed to allow the steam to reach the temperature sensor. If left open this kettle will happily boil away until all the water is gone, which did take over 15 minutes when I filled it with the minimum amount indicated (0.5L). Once dry the kettle shut off in just a few seconds. So I have no worries about other members of the household putting the kettle on and forgetting about it.
Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

I bought this so I could make hot chocolate or ramen noodles at lunch and I am very impressed! For the price this is an amazing pot, water boils much faster than I ever anticipated which considering the fact that I fill it with refrigerated bottled water makes it even more impressive. I’ll likely buy another for home since it boils water at least twice as fast as doing it on the stove.

I bought this kettle after my MC glass kettle unexpectedly broke. The reviews had me second guessing and debating if I should cancel my order but out of all the kettle options available that were unlike my last kettle, this one had the best reviews so I ordered it. I saw so many reviews and images showing discolouration after first use and multiple uses and this is what made me second guess this kettle BUT… I know I have hard water so I figured that’s what caused it so I washed the kettle and it didn’t change anything so I then bought CLR and immediately after pouring in just a little bit the CLR ate all the lime scale and the kettle is spotless, just as it was when I received it earlier this week.
Don’t let people’s images fool you into thinking this kettle isn’t good quality, the white residue is just from having hard water and is easy to clean.
I have now had this kettle for roughly 2 years and I still love it. I definitely recommend.

I bought this for my husband who drinks tea by the gallons. The water heats to a boil almost instantly, which saves so much time.
I tried making tea with loose leaf, but would not recommend that. The small tea particles were very difficult to rinse out due to the shape of the lid. There is a rim inside where the particles kept getting stuck, but regular tea bags work well.
I would definitely recommend this product.

I got this to replace an old Cuisinart electric kettle that died after several years of use. I really like the glass carafe on this kettle; unlike myold kettle it’s easy to check the water level to make sure you have enough for whatever you are brewing. The thermostat works well and reliably shuts off once the water has reached a full boil, though it may take a moment or two past boiling point to shut off.
The blue light, though useful to know that it’s on and heating, is also kind of gimmicky but it can be hypnotic watching the blue bubbling water as it approaches boiling.
The only downside is that this kettle seems to be a little slower than the old Cuisinart in terms of getting water up to boiling especially when it is completely full, though I have no way to know for sure.

Bought this to replace a nearly identical electric kettle (not Amazon Basics brand) and this has been great so far. Same functionality & looks just as nice on the counter. Maybe a little more efficient because it turns off faster than our previous one once the water is boiling. Boils water fast, looks great, easy to clean…exactly what we wanted.
