I find this knife to be very sharp and do a good job slicing, however, I’m finding food (potatoes, carrots, celery) sticking really bad. I could be wrong here but I was under the impression that santoku knives were made to prevent food from sticking? I’m finding I’m just reaching for my old Jamie Oliver chef knife over this one.

Best knife I’ve purchased!

I’m new to cooking so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when reading the reviews and seeing how sharp everybody said this knife was. First of all let me say from my beginner knowledge it seems great for the money and is definitely Sharp. So sharp in fact that while slicing some apples I watched it cut right into my thumb and go through my fingernail and thumb tip like butter. As I said before I’m new to cooking so I was not doing my due diligence in having my hands in the right position, but the most astonishing thing is that it was so sharp that nearly carving a chunk from my thumb did not even hurt. 10/10 I’m afraid of this knife but will continue to use it (but safer from now on)

This knife is crazy sharp. Makes cutting so easy. Compared to a similarly priced santoku knife, it was easily twice as good. Don’t hesitate.

I’ve never seen it’s equal for this price. Well worth it. Expert craftsmanship, excellent quality. Andrew Rea wouldn’t sell us crap.

This knife is a great deal! It is a little flimsy, I haven’t had it long and the blade has already chipped of in some places. Guess I expected that since it is very cheap. It is definitely sharper than what I was using. I would say just be gentle when chopping. I will probably purchase another one.

I cook..a LOT, and eat a ton of vegetables. I wanted to treat myself to a new, very sharp knife since i had been chopping with a not so great knife. I read the reviews for this knife and I thought, what do I have to lose? If it doesn’t work as well as the reviews say, I’ll return it. I thought I was going to have to spend at least 60-75 for an amazing knife, but no! This one is PERFECT. It’s lovely to hold, it’s super sharp, and the angle of the blade is perfect for chopping veggies on a cutting board. Even slices through cabbage, cauliflower and tough broccoli stems with EASE. I’m very impressed!

This knife has shown me all the knives I’ve been using all these years s u c k or maybe needed some good sharpening. It cuts any and everything with ease and I only use this knife and the babish chef knife now a days replacing a whole knife set with 2 knives!

I’ve had a WUSTHOF and expensive Japanese knives, and they’re great. But I see no reason to spend 300 on those when you can buy the babish clef knife for 30 dollars. I’ve been using the clef for a long time and hasn’t dulled yet. I got the santoku on sale for 19 cad, what a steal. Comes very sharp, easy to maintain, double bolstered, extremely cheap.

use this knife daily and I just love it. Stays sharp a long time. Shows no signs of wear. Light and easy to handle. Even though the handle is smooth it’s not slippery and I have never felt like I might drop it. I can’t say that about other knives I have. Love this knife. Would/will buy again.
