This is a basic yanagiba knife with no bells and whistles.
This is a great price point for a solid starter knife. The knife is worth every penny! It is light and PERFECTLY balanced. The ebony handle looks and feels nice. It is made with stainless steel rather than carbon steel making it less likely to rust and easier to care for. Rather than put the money into a nice box, it’s obvious the company put every cent into the quality of the knife.
As a professional sushi chef I prefer a longer knife but this is great for the beginner or for the home chef. You will want to sharpen it right out of the box so don’t forget to buy a whetstone.
