Okay. First, I looked at all the reviews before choosing this knife. I looked at all the pictures and read all the text. From everything I read, I decided to give it a shot. It was a great decision. This is an excellent knife. First, think about it’s original purpose. Slicing sushi or sashimi without deforming the roll is not for an ordinary knife. This knife is so sharp that it can slice through cooked sticky rice and not lose a single grain. The traditional Japanese edge is perfect. And, the length of the blade allows you to slice through anything with a single pass, with no real pressure applied. The balance of the knife is flawless. It cuts through the tiniest tomatoes without losing one drop of juice and slices through cold steak like it was butter. You can balance the knife on one finger. The whole thing is hand crafted to perfecting detail. I also like the box. It’s a perfect presentation or storage box for such a finely crafted tool. I am very VERY pleased with this purchase. Five stars.

This product is perfect for our kitchen, it’s easy to hold. the color makes everything elegant. The material is excellent. What makes different this product than the other ones? It’s not heavy, is ergonomic. The knife is value for the money pay. Is a good purchase!

this is a great knife for the price. Keep in mind that it’s a specialty knife so not necessarily should be used for day to day cutting. I use it to cut fish for sashimi and it slices with minimal effort. I’ve also used it to filet fish and actually prefer to a filet knife. I’ve used it for well over 2 weeks and it’s still as sharp as it was from day one. Highly recommend this knife!

I specifically searched for a sushi knife made in Japan, the Q&A section even had responses that it was made in Japan. Product arrived today, box clearly states made in China. My review is based on this only. Once I use the knife, I will revise. Just disappointed with misleading information.

I needed a good sharp knife for fileting, and I found this one, Marku brand, and I just love the high quality german steel, and I found this one, at a unbelievable price and had to get it. I was not dissapointed, this knife is amazing. Very well made, flawless design where the handle is perfect and very well balanced too. Sharp, this one is extremely sharp, and can slice through about anything like it is nothing. I did my turkey up with this, and it sliced right through, and past the cartilidge too without even feeling it. Very easy to manuever, and slicing is very enjoyable. Hard to show how nice this one is with just pics, so I did a video to show. No cons, really nice knife, where I am very happy with this purchase.

At first I was quite happy with the heavy weight of this knife as a sign of quality, but in actual use I’ve found it to have one major issue for folks used to using western style double edged knives. This knives thick body, and wide single edged grind, causes some problems in use people will have to learn to deal with. When slicing thick material like a green pepper the knife has a tendency to drift to the left making in even cuts. It can be compensated for by leaning the knife over towards the left at the start of a cut, but it definitely takes some time to get used to. Otherwise, it’s an excellent quality knife with a wonderful D shaped handle
Update: The handle has developed a crack in the wood already, after less than two weeks of use, hand wash only, never in a dishwasher. That doesn’t bode will for it holding together in the long term

I have recently bought a few imarku knives and loved them. I decided to add this on me to the collection as I wanted a knife in between my chef knife and cleaver, and this one is just as excellent as my other knives! I highly recommend this product.

Nice presentation box, very sturdy, looks nice. But just out of the box, it couldn’t cut a tomato. I tried a potato and it cut through, but pulled heavily to the right making it impossible to cut an even thickness. Its stated 15 degree angle is true for the blade but it has a double bevel on one side leaving the final cutting edge of nearly 35 degrees which explains the heavy pull to the right. All that being said, after spending hours sharpening it to a true 15 degree cutting edge it’s as sharp as it should be and so far has held up well.
