We have all spread tons of times in our lives but never have you ever had the pleasure of a spread like this spreader. I used to only be able to spread for short spreads but now I am spreading all day long, and sometimes well into the night. Feel like spreading at 2am? Not an issue with this masterclass spreader. Sure, I could have gone even larger with the spreader but that honestly just seems like way too much spreading. This is the right amount of spreading for my comfort level. Like, where are you actually going to be able to spread with that industrial spreader anyway? Just way too much if you ask me. You will eventually just desensitize yourself to the spreading, and we all know that the spreading is why we are here. I’m just trying to help you save yourself because it sounds like a slippery slope you are on with this industrial spreader idea. Just buy this one to be safe. You wouldn’t jump off a cliff if that industrial spreader did, would you? No, I didn’t think so.

not a new idea as I have a similar product in my kitchen drawer unused for about 20 years
the blade is not flexible enough for spreading and the bevelled edge is on the wrong side making a left hand knife so not for me

We purchased ZYLISS Serrated Paring Knife, 3 3/4-Inch Stainless Steel Blade, Red from the seller Amazon.com Services LLC for $8.32. Actually purchased this exact knife twice within a few months as explained below. Also purchased ZYLISS Paring Knife with Sheath Cover, 3.5-Inch Stainless Steel Blade, Green from the same seller three times over about 5 years.
This is a great knife. We have purchased two of this style by this brand and loved our green non serrated paring knife so much we wanted to get the red one too. I know… it’s a knife. But with kids, having the little slide cover is great. Plus it’s a real quality knife.
After probably about 5 years our green knife broke finally so we bought both of these to replace and add. Within a month though I was washing it when I noticed the sponge catching on it. So many nicks all over it I thought the knife had corroded. I was very upset and about to leave a negative review when I just knew that couldn’t be what happened, asked my youngest if he used the knives and sure enough he told me he did and “the knives had a battle”. I’m amazed he didn’t hurt himself or get shards in his eye, but rest assured, slamming knives together repeatedly while they battle will destroy it. That’s pretty reasonable though so I’ll let it slide.
I did however, have to order another set to replace it… so in essence we’ve bought now 5 knives from Zlyiss over about 5-6 years and with their quality and the enjoyment we have, how long they stay sharp (if you take care of them) and no rusting, still happy with this brand.
I have seen a lot of people complain about rust. We haven’t had that issue, however we wash this knife by hand and not in the dishwasher. As of late we have also noticed a lot of our new butter knives rusting in the dishwasher so we’ve stopped putting them in the dishwasher and wash them by hand now too. I have never washed my sharp knives in the dishwasher so I don’t know if the rusting thing for others is a recent phenomenon and they’ve started using cheaper metal, poor crafting techniques, etc. as evident by this happening to the butter knives. I can only comment on my experience with the knife how I use it. This is entirely possible that it is a flaw though, so please be aware of that yourself if you plan to put the knives in the dishwasher.
