This is a great sharpener! I’ve used a lot of methods and gadgets in my time including oilstones and diamond sharpeners… For all the “gadget” sharpeners this one is a winner. Sure there might be purists out there who need organic artisan zen-sharpening for their ultra expensive blah blah chef knife, but that kind of roody-poo is never satisfied anyway. Dude this will whip your blades into a great shape – the freaking thing is already dull AF anyway, amirite? You have nothing to lose.
Tungsten Carbide is one of the hardest materials on earth – and this little gem has a pair of reversible TC sharpening stones, so after you wear them down you can flip them over and start all over – plus they sell spares. I use mine in a handheld position like a traditional sharpening steel and the little handguard works to protect my meathooks without even thinking about it. BOOM…. Slide the blade through the handy notch in this sharpener and in a few strokes you’re good to go. You can maintain a great edge super fast and carry on as if you were normal afterwards. This thing even does serrated edges if you take the time. *mic drop*

Again…not a bad product. Don’t last as long as ones made years ago. Gotten cheaper in quality but higher in price.

This sharpener creates a very sharp edge to your knives very quickly. Evidence of the metal removed can be seen if you wipe the blade with a white kitchen towel after sharpening. Yes it will damage expensive japanese blades, but on most mid to low price blades it will give you a very sharp edge.
Don’t apply too much pressure to re-sharpen but if your blade is blunt, draw it across with firm pressure and you will feel it removing material and forming a new edge. It works better than other “copies” of this style of sharpener and I am guessing its due to the way the blades are mounted in the handle.
Don’t think of it as a one tool for every knife, but as a fast sharpener for your less precious blades.

this is by far the best knife sharpener ever within 6 strokes your knife will slice a sheet of paper!!!!!!!!!
p.s. once your knife is sharpened be careful it will cut you in a heart beat

This is a great sharpener! Every time I use a a knife I wash it then before it gets put away I slide it through this sharpener then hone it real quick to keep it ready to go for the next time! Always super sharp knives ready for use! It says it’s guaranteed for a (lifetime?) but I replace mine about every other year. You can tell when it’s time because the knives don’t slide through as easily. You can also buy replacement sharpening blades for these but for as inexpensive as they are I just buy a new one and recycle the old one.

I’ve had a couple of knife sharpeners that never put a lasting edge on my knives. I pulled this sharpener across my blade three times and it has been like a new knife ever since. I’m sure there are kits to put a scalpel’s edge on your knife but not this effortlessly and quickly and cheaply. If you’re hesitant, get it: it works as advertised and you’ll never regret it. I’m sending them as Xmas presents this year.

omg, just buy it already! this sharpener is a game-changer. i’m trying to think of all the sharpeners i can sell/get rid of now, there are several stones, some sort of mechanism for keeping the proper sharpening angle, i could go on… i’m not normally so salesy, but this sharpener really works! Bought three more as gifts, price is right. Sharpened all the knives in the house and my pocket knife. Only thing i recommend is to wet the blade beforehand with water, seems to help slide the tool with duller blades, also, be aware that there will be steel shavings all over the knife, sharpener, and counter/ surface you are working on… so be careful and rinse & clean all these items (don’t do this on your kitchen cutting board, for instance, trust me)

I needed a knife sharpener for my filet knife and this did an excellent job doing just that. My knife is like new again. The cost of this item is fantastic for the results is gives you. I went with the bright orange because I have a tendency to lose things and this has helped greatly.

First, this thing works. Blades are definitely sharper after using this. Problem is the metal shavings you see are coming off your knife. For less expensive knives this is just fine. For Carbon steel, regular honing will keep it nice for years with proper use, and a wetstone gets you the “shave the hair off your arm test” sharp. None of these type of sharpeners get you there for a lot of reasons. Knowing this, it’s a great product, just have to understand it’s not a universal tool.
