A convert. Was recommended to me by a fiend and naturally I ignored them thinking why? But now I believe that every home should have one. I started buying (mail-order) partisan cheeses during lockdown and this tool slices perfectly and also has the added benefit of reducing waste. Looks good, easy to clean and I guess could be used anywhere you need uniform slices.

I bought this as a mandoline-type tool for slicing zucchini lengthwise, and it worked out really well. This is a quality-made kitchen tool. I also began using it in place of my ancient wire-type cheese slicer. And, imagine that, it works great! I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to control the thickness of the slices, at least with harder cheeses like cheddar and Swiss. Not sure how it would work with semisoft cheese like Fontina. Anyway, this purchase has been well worth the quite reasonable price.

Finally replacing my 40+ year old cheese slicer from the cheese shop I worked at. Love this one! Sturdy, easy to clean, nice slices. Ordered a second for my camper.

I purchased this along with

I have not used these utensils. I purchased them as a gift for my wife. My wife uses them frequently for charcuteria, so this is my wife’s review. She loves them, says they work great, and are useful for a variety of cheeses she buys. I prefer to do the dishes, and they’re very easy to handle and clean.

This cheese slicer is very well made! It makes perfect slices and holds up well to soft and semi-soft cheeses. (Jarelsberg, cheddar, parmesan, romano, etc.) It is safe to put in the dishwasher and shows absolutely no signs of rust! Also makes a great gift for people who like to cook!

I like that I can get some thin slices of cheese with this but it can be a bit awkward to hold and also due to pressure will sort of bend so that it is flat rather than at an angle which makes it difficult to get at the cheese

Works really well on oranges for old fashion. I’ve bought it for a friend who also loves it. Super easy to use. Super easy to clean. A real quality product

I have been trying to replace a Cheese plane that my mother bought over 28 years ago, but over time the handle cracked and it came apart last month.
I have bought a number over the years but they all did not seem to slice the same, too thick or ended up breacking the block of cheese.
This Boska one seems to work and slice cheese nicely, not too thick, just right for making a sandwich or a cheese toasty.
its nice and light weight, and the handle is stainless steel so hopefully will be able to go in the dishwasher, don’t try that with the wooden or plastic handles.
Note the slicing edge is sharp but i have never felt worried about them cutting my hand accidentally while slicing.
Its possible you can use them on veggies as well but have never tried that.
Enjoy!

This is the best cheese slicer I’ve ever had, so easy to use! Would make a great gift.

I signed up for an online cheese tasting (you pay and they ship the cheese to you; the cheese tasting was then guided during a Zoom session). So I suddenly decided I needed a set of nice cheese knives for that. LOL
The set was shipped in a nice box, so you could use this as a gift. Though I do seem to remember the inside of the box being dusty, which was odd, but I always wash utensils and such before using anyway. The knives worked pretty well. I picked this over other cheese knife options because it seemed like the handles on these would be a little longer. I did find the handles to be a decently comfortable length for using the knives. And they just are also nice looking knives, makes it all look more fancy.
I also appreciated the included info on what type of cheese each knife should be used for. I never realized before that you actually should use a different knife for a hard cheese versus a soft cheese (just makes it easier to slice if you use the correct knife).
I haven’t used these a lot yet because I haven’t been hosting much in the last couple years (gee thanks, covid). But I am hoping to be getting to show them off more at book club or other group events in the future.
