I have had this for almost a year now simply because I keep thinking it might work better & I could fix it, but it will going into the trash. After the first use, the spring that holds it together in the drawer sprung. I have tried several time to see if I can fix it and even my husband said to trash it because it was too flimsy. Since the spring broke – it does not line up properly so slicing is uneven. As I said, I have tried to work with it – but it has serious design flaws and I do not recommend purchasing this.

The issue with this product is that the lines which are straight when the tongs are completely closed, are at an angle once opened. So its very difficult to get straight cuts. On top of that, the spines are not at all sturdy enough, and will bend against a knife. And the grip is not strong enough to prevent items from rotating. I’m buying a mandolin instead.

This gadget allows me to hold a tomato or mushroom and cut it into perfect slices. I was always worried I would cut my fingers but with this gadget it allows me to get my fingers out of the way and still cut a nice size slice. Unit is sturdy and easy to wash. Would buy again.

Would be better if it was plastic. Super bendable and the metal just dulls your knife really fast. You don’t get even slices every time and end up wasting product.

This product is garbage. Got it tonight, stuck a tomato in it and went to slicing it. Twice the knife hit the end of the tines and both times they bent out of shape. Very poorly made product and every single person giving it a positive review is flat out lying. Don’t waste your money

I didn’t care for this product very much because of two things: the first thing is that it only handles smaller size tomatoes because if you try to cut a larger size the tongs at the end don’t wrap around evenly so you can’t cut a straight line. The second thing is the spaces for slicing through with your knife are not really even. Product feels fairly sturdy for what it is but I gave it the review I have given it because it didn’t truly meet my needs.
