Nylon not SiliconeIt says the bristles are nylon, but I didn’t clue in to the fact that meant the thinner hairlike strands, not the thicker plastic like the silicone. As another user mentioned, these wouldn’t be heat resistant like the silicone. However, I am actually very glad that I made that mistake and ordered these. They are of good quality at a very reasonable price. I also had something where I needed a stiffer basting brush and these were much better at the task than the floppy silicone versions. Each has its use, so it is good to have both silicone and nylon basting brushes on hand.

Good, but bewareThese are definitely quality made. I’d used them a couple of times with great results, particularly ease of clean-up. But they are plastic. I needed to baste inside a hot wok pan. As soon as the bristles hit the the pan, they melted 75% of the way, making them useless. As long as you baste only food items, they work great. Just never have them in contact with hot metal.

Very sad, and I may have to buy another set …Sadly, I didn’t think and used the little one to brush oil onto a hot pan…so I’m down one. Very sad, and I may have to buy another set of these just to make up for that later. But it does a great job for egg washes, and looks like it’ll be really handy! At least the one I didn’t melt into a pan…So as long as you don’t do that, I think you’ll really like these!

Just a little creepy.I did like these when I got them, but I discovered that the top of the handles slide off and I dont like the fact that gunk can get under these handles and it is more cleaning and to be honest I dont know how I will get the gunk out as the upper handle is to narrow to get any thing in there to get it out…….. DISGUSTING. Don’t get me wrong. I am far from a germ-a-fob, this just really DOES NOT rub me right.

I love these thingsI love these things! They don’t rust! I have had basting brushes with metal, and will never use them again. Equally, I hate the rubbery bristles that give little control over basting. These are absolutely perfect! Dishwasher safe, durable, and noncorrosive. In the event I need to buy more, these are definitely what I’m getting!

They are OK…cheap brushes. One word of warning is the bristles aren’t individual, one ‘bristle’ goes up into the handle and must go over a bar inside, then come down the other side. They aren’t in there extremely snug and tugging on one pulls out ‘2’.

Excellent and easy to cleanSo far, we’re very pleased with these. We’ve used both of them just once but they worked great and are super easy to clean. Much better than the natural bristle brushes that hold the oil, butter, etc. Definitely glad we bought them and we do recommend to others. Great price, too.

… bristles and don’t fall out but the construction isn’t great. one of these has completely broke losing ALL …These work well compared to real bristles and don’t fall out but the construction isn’t great. one of these has completely broke losing ALL the bristles in one swift crack. if you can be careful with these, they’re great for the price

Woudn’t buy againI purchased this set on 8/5/15 and threw both of them away today. ALL of the bristles on the small brush came out in my hand. Went to the larger one and the bristles started to come if that one two. The bristles are folded over a metal sort of hanger. One end of the “hanger” came out of both brushes. All I did to was to fluff the bristle ends by running my finger over the top of the bristles.I am not a compulsive baster, so these were probably not used ten times (for both)

Basting BrushesWorks very well for decorating, not just basting. I would recommend these brushes to my friends for practical use as well.
