Great Success!!! (Mostly – 3 year update.)I have used this injector three times with great success! It has been used on a whole pig and two pork shoulders with a brine and basting mix respectivly. It is sharp, and has three holes in the needle which I’m on the fence about. It’s recommended that when “injecting” insert deep, and while injecting, pull out slowly. With the three openings the pulling out part get’s messy once the top hole is exposed. Aside from that, it’s a great meat injector. It breaks down nicely to clean and for my brines/basting fluids it’s generally a mix of apple juice/cider/water/brown sugar/white sugar/black pepper/cayanne/cumin/worcester mix. I also use a small spray bottle similar to
this
to spray the meat after the bark has formed before wrapping it. Overall it’s a good injector, I would imagine that it’ll hold up nicely to the type of injections I’ll put through it (a water like consistancy) and like most specialized kitchen tools, I’d recommend hand washing it, in this case to protect the gasket on the plunger.Update 10/16/2015 – The needle for this product eventually failed after about a year of use when trying to puncture the skin of a whole pig while prepping it for a spit. I purchased the
Bayou Classic 5011 2-Ounce Stainless-Steel Seasoning Injector with Marinade Needles
to replace it, however it was too large and I had similar complaints about the plunger seal on the replacement model that I purchased another one of these to replace the failed needle. I no longer use this for puncturing pig skin and just on already cut meats such as port shoulder/butt and brisket. I’m still very happy with the purchase and if I manage to exceed it’s capabilities again, I’ll gladly purchase again. I have not had any of the trouble as the other reviewers with the plunger gasket seal on either item. My second one has lasted about two years with no problems. I do have reviews on the spit I use and other BBQ stuff as well.

I think this product will work wonderfully,, so I am keeping this red one …really I should be ashamed of myself for buying this injector, not that it was messed up nor was it awful in construction , it was because I already had one, got to cleaning out my junk drawl , you all know which one, we all have them, but bamm I see an injector but it was bright yellow. I think this product will work wonderfully,, so I am keeping this red one too, you , I guess can not have too many, The product looks very sturdy, metal push bar, and metal injectors, but one thing I did noticed the difference is, my old one had better bigger holes for things like finely chopped up garlic, and onion, the red one, NOT so much, back to back you can tell the difference , but my old one is old and well better made, seeing actually I have had this one for 20 or so years.

Perfect for that injection that you need or wantPerfect for that injection that you need or want. Just take it out… Stick it in… and let the juices flow. Your meat will love you for all the injection you put in to it. I have never seen my meat swell like it did when I put the tip in and let a little slip out. I can tell you that I am so happy that there were those handles on each side so that I could get a good grip as I injected my juices in to the meat. Just remember you can get in to a lot of trouble if you inject your meat too much, so just make sure you are wearing proper protection so that none of your juices leak out and get on your face in a stream of injection.

Good product that I use to apply dye in tie dyeing.I use this for tie dyeing. It helps apply dye a drop at a time on intricate patterns. It’s of good quality. One problem (hence 4 stars iso 5) is that there seems to be one spot where the plunger sticks a little (even though I lubricate the O ring with vaseline). When the plunger clears this sticking point, I can get a small gush of dye. Hence, losing control of how much dye I put on my project. I know this doesn’t have anything to do with marinade, but a lot of people use these for tie dye, so I wanted to convey my experiences.

Definitely Not a Strong Quality InjectorPurchased this injector because of it’s low price. But don’t think that I would purchase a GrillPro again. I would spend a bit more money to get a nice stainless steel injector. Our marinade recipe call for us to mix part of the rub into the marinade. The needle on this injector (and probably any other injector) kept clogging. Pieces of the rub were getting caught inside the needle. When I applied more pressure on the plunger to clear the needle, I felt like the plastic parts on this injector would snap any moment. So, now I am off to purchase a stainless Steel injector and will have the cost of it and this GrillPro one before I finish.

Injector works effectively and cleans easy.I got this for our thanksgiving dinner. My husband melted butter, some brown sugar, turkey broth, and his special spices to have to use to inject the turkey for thanksgiving. This injectors needle has 2 spots were when injected it injects in multiple areas. The handle was easy to grip and is made of a hard plastic. The plunger inside pushes down while you use it and transfers to the needle part accurately. After prepping the turkey and using the injector the needle unscrews and the cap unscrews to clean. I used some soap and water and it cleaned very easily. The turkey went really fast and there was no leftover turkey it was so delicious.

This makes my life so much easier. Using a …This makes my life so much easier. Using a baster just wasn’t cutting it, for trying to transfer liquid from a large container to one with a small opening. But this is the Bees Knees! I just wish it came just a wee bit smaller or had the option to switch out the tips.

Nice Construction/Break Down Easily for Cleaning & StorageI use this to inject briskets and other meat. It works really well and the construction is very solid. It’s easy to disassemble for cleaning and storage. I love how the needle can be stored inside when not in use That prevents becoming poked by a sharp needle, when digging in a kitchen drawer for other kitchen utensils. You can check out SnagBear.com as well where I have featured videos and photos of this marinade injector.

good for bathing in your marinadeI bought this as a first attempt. It needs some improvement. When drawing liquid to fill it it pulls liquid over the stopper as well as under. After the second pull you are hosing yourself in the face with your marinade if you pull up all the way. You end up having to take it apart and empty it out. The needle has two holes at varying depths which is good and bad. If you get it make sure you aim the higher placed hole down. Between this and the top you get yourself covered better than what you are injecting (you do this with good ones too if not careful). My advise is spend the extra cash here and buy a nice metal one with round holes to pull and push liquid. The top screws off which you would think is convienent but it just unscrews while using it. This one is difficult to use and clean.I bought a better one and threw this away.

Worked great, but broke shortly after.I bought the product and it worked so well! However, after the first use, I set it aside on one of our tables. I went to use it again the next week and it was right where I left it, shattered into pieces…no one had touched it!So I contacted the supplier and without any hassal, sent me a replacement. Great! But, the same thing happened again. I used it twice this time, sat it aside, and went to use it one day and it was shattered into pieces again. I’m not sure whats making them break, but they fall to pieces while they are not being used.
