Works OK, but so does kitchen stringI have a set of these, a gift from my sister. I’ve used them and they work OK, but I find making a lifter out of kitchen string, like the one that comes with the butterball turkeys, works better. Use heavy kitchen string, tie the string in a circle, bigger around than your roasting pan, with the sides of the circle together so you have a double string longer than your turkey, tie knots in two places, a little more than 1/3 of the way in from each end of the circle. I put it under the turkey before I put it in the roasting pan, position the knots under the turkey body and open up the loops at each end so they go around the wings on one end of the turkey and the legs on the other and lay the ends of the loops over the top of the turkey. When the bird is done, just grab the ends of the loops and if you’ve positioned the knots right under the wings and legs of the bird, it’s so very easy to just lift it out of the pan. for a heavy bird, I have another person helping with the Norpro turkey Lifters, which are not adequate themselves for me to use to get a 22 pound bird out of a roaster.

Need to move a beefy bird? Try theseI got tired of wrestling with big fat Perdue chickens — wracking my wrists on a half-cooked bird (breast side down for an hour) and then killing myself trying to remember which kitchen implements I’d use to shift the entire cooked bird to a cutting board. The solution was these Norpro Poultry Lifters. The handles are quite heavy, and the lifters are quite sturdy. They come with a little sleeve that covers the tips of each in order to protect them — and you — in a drawer, and thus far has been a flawless tool for… flipping the bird =).I was quite pleases to find lifters with 4 tines instead of 3, as this means on a big, meaty bird, when you need extra control and extra leverage, you have it from the extra point of contact as well as the changed weigh distribution; rather than wasting one tine as ostensibly an axle, you can get the bird on both ends and make use of all 4 to roll the thing over, rotating around where the middle tine would be in a three-prong lifter — more torque! They’re an excellent value for the money, clean up easy, and I suspect I will have them for some time.

As expectedNot much to report – works as expected. Have used it on up to a 20lbs Turkey so they’re reasonably strong. They flexed a little with that bird but didn’t bend permanently.

Value for the moneyPurchased these for our Thanksgiving Turkey. I’ve never had to make a Turkey before but due to the pandemic we chose to stay home. These are large, easy to use and clean up easily. They do what they are intended to do. Great value for a great product.

Sturdy and easy to use.I use these sturdy and well made utensils every time I use my roasting pan. Lifts large roasts, poultry, etc without breaking them apart.

Great for poultry and roasts.I pressure cook chicken and turkey and these lifters easily turn the birds for browning and removing from the pressure cooker. Also great for lifting ham to a carving board.

DO NOT DROP YOUR TURKEY AGAIN!!I bought these poultry lifters right after Thanksgiving when the two long forks I was using to lift my 25lb turkey out of the roasting pan bent and I dropped the turkey (luckily it was over top of the cutting board and not the floor!!). I finally got a chance to use them over the Christmas holiday on another turkey. Stuck one in both cavities and it lifted very easily. These are very sturdy and well made!!!! They have a very good “feel” and not once did I worry that the tines would bend. For whatever reason, did not put a strain on the wrists and forearms like the long forks did. Should have bought these years ago!!!

Now THAT’S a meat fork!Every dang time I was asked to carve the roast, or turkey, my wife handed me a”meat fork.” You know the 2-pronged fork about an inch wide, yeah that one. “That’s not a meat fork. I can’t hold the roast steady while I slice it.” Time after time it was the same thing.Well, no more. This baby is the bee’s knees! Sturdy, wide, and substantial, this fork will hold the meat while I cut it for sure. With a pair of them, as sold, I can easily get the turkey, or roast, out of the pan. The non-slip handles help keep a grip on the forks.I couldn’t be happier with the “right tool for the job” so as to speak. They are 4″ wide by 10″ long.
