CHARD HG-10 No. 10 Cast Iron Hand Grinder
The CHARD #10 Hand Grinder is the perfect hand crank meat grinder for making hamburgers, jerky or sausage. The heavy duty, tin-coated cast iron construction ensures years of continuous use.
Grind generous portions of meat quickly with the 2 3/4” diameter grinding head and ¼” grinding plate. Rubber clamp pads protect the work surface and the table clamp style attaches to any countertop up to 1 ½” thick.
The oversized thumb screw easily attaches or removes the poly handle which is easier to clean and won’t split or splinter. Fully disassembles for quick and easy clean-up.
Includes one sausage nozzle adapter and three sausage stuffing tubes: 3/4”, 5/8”, 1/2”. Great for making links, sausages and bratwursts.
HELPFUL TIPS
– When making burger from wild game, add a minimum of 10% fat to meat. This will give the burger moisture, but not make it fatty.
– Suet is not recommended as the hamburger will fully cook before suet melts causing suet particles to remain.
– When making sausage, add at least 20% fat with meat and grind it like burger. Mix the seasoning with meat after the first grind and then grind the mixture a second time.
- 2 3/4 Inch Diameter #10 Grinding Head with 1/4 Inch thick Grinding Plate
- Heavy duty, Tin-coated Cast Iron for years of continuous use
- Table clamp style attaches to any countertop up to 1 1/2 Inch thick
- Fully disassembles for quick and easy clean-up
- ncludes three Sausage Stuffing Tubes: 3/4”, 5/8”, 1/2”

Clean upI used this grinder to help my aging dog to eat her food easier. I took the unit apart and cleaned it with soap and hot water. Later that day, I was going to reassemble it but, the cutter blades and the strainer disc had started to rust. I recleaned them and coated them with cooking oil.

Dangerous to even ownDo not buy this product. After I received it of course I opened it up, assembled it and tested it out. It was rough going and crudely built but I figured I’d give it a try anyway after I washed it out with soap to get rid of the manufacturing chemical smells. I disassembled the grinder and soaked all the parts in hot water and dishwashing soap overnight in a large plastic bowl. The next morning the water was a yellowish color and when I dumped out the water there were all kinds of metal particles in the bottom of the bowl and all the parts were rusted where the tin had worn off. The tin coating had clearly flaked off in the threads and any other area that had rubbed in the few minutes that I had tried it out and would have gone into my food had I actually been grinding anything. Also the blade was rusted and the grinder plate was heavily rusted.Between the future metal particles in my food, the instant rust, the rough mechanical operation and the yellow (toxic plating?) chemicals on the metal I never even used it on food and am instead trying to return it as I don’t even want this thing in my house. As far as I am concerned this thing should not even be on the market and I pray for the people who are eating metal flakes in their food without even knowing it.I hope I don’t have any problems returning this product and getting my money back.Follow up: I have been searching Amazon for a way to contact them that in my opinion this product is unsafe to public health and should not even be sold on this site as Amazon may also become liable for health damage claims but so far I have not been able to find a way to contact them about this.

Very heavyI wanted a grinder like the old ones – this was so heavy and bulky and not a good quality at all. doesn’t grind well and it didn’t fit my counter top. My counter top was to wide and I won’t even go into details what I had to do to get a place to put it so I could use it. Very disappointed. But I got immediate service when I had to return the first one for lack of pieces and a new replacement was delivered. Thanks for that anyway.

Haven’t used it yet…I will edit or amend my review after I use it. The price was nice and the manufacturer claims “made in the USA”, so we will go from there.

Junk I wld like a replacementI used 1 time after I got my dear last year clean. Made sure it was all dry put it in a ziplock bag and put it back in the box and put it up went to use it again this year and the cutting blade was all rusty and I went to tighten the clamp down on the table and it broke so I can no longer use it. And the ad for the item says that the blade is stainless steel there’s no way that it’s stainless steel because like I said it was rusted stainless steel does not rust. It would be nice if I could get a replacement

Coarse constructionIt appears that it came directly out of a casting with a very rough texture to the unit. The plate is very susceptible to rust. When hand washing set aside to rinse began to show rust almost immediately.Coated everything with veg oil and had to store in plastic bag.

Just okay. The meat grinder is really sturdy made and not that difficult to take apart and clean the parts. The problem I encountered was the blade. It came NOT sharp at all! The dull spinning thing that actually was not doing its job. I washed it in the sink without any chemicals and dried with a kitchen towel. The towel got brownish stains and the blade itself was all rusted next morning. I kept it on the paper napkin for a complete drying, but it still got all rusted. Basically I may be using this manual grinder for making bread crumbs from the stale bread or grinding nuts, but not for meat. It did not do that job at all.
