This jewel gets it tender. Let’s face it the quality of meat we are getting these days is just not up to standard. Using this meat tenderizer has made me enjoy our meals again.

I normally have the butcher tenderize meat for me but anymore. This is the best tenderizer for home use that I have found. It made short work of some steak I tenderized for chicken fried steak and the family loved how tender it was. I’ve since thrown away my tenderizing mallet. Money well spent!

Bought this to tenderize flank steak for fajitas. It was easy to use and easy to clean! I also marinated the meat overnight. The meat turned out so tender! I would highly recommend!!

In search of a less obtrusive method of tenderising meat I fell for the blurb and ordered this device.
Yes, it punches holes in plenty, however, I have not found my viands to be any more tender than before.
As for cleaning. Well! This device is an absolute nightmare. The minuscule brush which accompanies it is virtually useless. Should you wish to really ensure a hygienic cleaning of the device it is necessary to retract, by hand, the spring loaded section which covers the points ( an action fraught with difficulty and of necessity quite hazardous ) to enable any meat remnants to be removed. An alternative to this method is to vigorously brush the needles whilst holding the device under a stream of hot water or, agitate the device whilst holding under a body of hot water. Both of these actions have the attendant possibility of scalding. Moreover, submerging the device, even partially, fills the main body of the device with water which, even with the most vigorous shaking a la disco era, takes an age to drain and also carries with it the possibility of water-borne bacterial infestation as it is impossible to completely dry the working parts.
As a testament to my purchasing folly this device is doomed to spend it’s time in the drawer marked ‘Pointless Gadgetry’ together with other such marvels as the equally useless strawberry huller.
My accompanying photograph shows the tenderiser together with its far more successful, easier to maintain, rivals which also allow one to work out one’s frustrations thereby avoiding psychotherapy fees.

Simple, sturdy, punches little holes into the meat – does exactly what it says on the box. I use it on pork belly, after roasting it in the oven, I get a nice crispy skin on top – nom nom nom
