If Only Pappardelle Were Thinner, These Disks Would Be PerfectI love my Philips Avance pasta maker, and I bought all the disk shapes I could, including this set. Although the pappardelle disk extrudes slightly too thick noodles for the shape, the angel hair disk is exactly what I wanted to make fine, almost-instantly cooked pasta. The thick spaghetti disk extrudes slightly thicker pasta than the one that comes with the pasta maker, and it’s perfect for making cold sesame noodles. I use the tagilatelle disk the least often, but if you’re looking for flat, not-too-wide pasta, this would be for you.As with all of the disks, cleaning is relatively easy as long as you let it dry a little and use the tools. This set comes with a special angel hair poking tool that helps a lot; it fits inside all the holes in each cluster to pop out the dough. It also comes with a plastic cap that fits on top of the thick spaghetti disk to clean all the holes at once. These disks are made as well as the disks that come with the machine: solid, thick plastic that fits perfectly and that holds up to the pressures of extrusion. If Philips were to come out with another set of shapes (bucatini, please!), I’d snap them up.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Excellent addition to my Phliips pasta makerI used the spaghetti disk and it made excellent pasta. I have used to several times already and have had consistently good results.

missing partsThe angle hair cleaning tool is missing. I called Phillips customer service help desk. At first, I was told the tool is not included with the discs. When I was able to describe the items listed on the box that are suppose to be included I was told they don’t stock them.

They don’t work wellYou are paying $40 for 4 pieces of cheap plastic. I can’t imagine what it costs them to make these. Maybe 50 cents. This machine is lacking and will not produce the pasta you want. It’s accessories are not good either. You can’t extrude a sheet for ravioli or lasagna.

TOO THICKI bought these hoping to make some nice paparadelle pasta. But it did not happen….It came out way too thick. More like licorice sticks than pasta. So sad, it cost me a lot of money to buy this set…wish I found a review that said these phillips discs are too thick. I found that out on a facebook group.

These are awesome and so easy to use!My husband bought me this pasta maker for Christmas last year and I absolutely love it. These pasta discs were the only ones I was missing. I love how easy it is to use these and the cleaning tools make it even easier to use. Once you figure out how to use these you won’t want to use box pasta. My in-laws love how fresh the pasta taste and they love it when we make dinner. These are so easy to use even the kiddos can do it! I would highly recommend these if you are thinking about getting them!

Follow the instruction in the Philips manual!Incredibly easy—if you follow the manualI have made three pastas (two ravioli and one spaghetti) and two worked perfectly because I followed the manual and recipes that accompanied the pasta maker; one failed to work because I thought I didn’t need the instructions any more. I religiously use an electronic scale and measure in grams. I clean up quickly after pasta is done or I soak the parts. I wasted time watching videos and reading reviews on line: there is a lot of inaccurate advice online and many viewers are influenced by information pertaining to Philips Pasta Makers that they do not own; e.g., my model (HR2375) does NOT have a built-in scale and, therefore, you need to use your own scale for measurement.Love the machine and will use it weekly.
