- EFFORTLESS MILLS — With a single touch, the Elis Sense u’Select electric mills light up to deliver freshly ground spices. Just touch the body and the top to start the mechanism. When technology supports gastronomy, it is pure pleasure! Developed in France by Peugeot
- U’SELECT SETTINGS — Our patented system helps you select your desired grind. Twist to create your precise balance of flavor through six settings, from extra fine to very coarse. The two-stage grinding mechanism first effortlessly cracks and then grinds the peppercorns and salt to the desired coarseness
- PRECISION GRIND — Through two centuries of experience, we have expertly engineered each mill and mechanism specifically for the consistency and shape of peppercorns and salt crystals. Make sure to fill each one with the correct spice for optimum use. We make the gears at our French factory from stainless steel that is treated to prevent corrosion and rust
- ENHANCE FLAVOR — The u’Select mechanism brings out the depth of each seasoning by selecting the right grind for your taste. Salt makes meat juicier, and balances other flavors. Finely ground pepper will bring out its spice, while a coarser grind intensifies the flavor. Find your Peugeot moment and enjoy the art of French living with our instruments of taste
- READY TO SEASON — Our salt mills come with Cristaux de sel blanc d’Allemagne, a dry white rock salt from Germany, and our pepper mills with Tan Hoi black pepper from Vietnam (refill cubes are available from Peugeot). Fill with dry rock salt only (max size smaller than 1/6 inch/4mm) — do not use sea salt, and max size ¼-inch (6mm) peppercorns
- MILLED STEEL — Elis Sense mills mechanisms are made in France from case hardened steel and stainless steel. Each product is a marriage of ingenuity and elegance, designed so that the brushed finish and straight lines give off exceptional style in your home. Comes with six AAA batteries. To replace, remove the top section and unlock the motor from its housing

Great millI know have 2 in my kitchen. Just love the grinder.
Carolyn O. Thurston –
Works well, has different adjustments for the grindI’d had one of these for about 10-12 years, and I guess I thought that it would last a lifetime, especially for the price! Anyway, one day it simply wouldn’t grind anything anymore. I hunted all over the web for various brands, but decided this one still was the best out there. So I tossed the old one and so far, the new one is working well. Someone recommended to me to NOT use old peppercorns as they can become extremely hard and that may have been the reason the old one broke down. I prefer Tone’s peppercorns (rated highly in one of the cooking magazines). Love the little light that comes on when you grind as I don’t have a great light over my cooktop. I wish the container held a bit more peppercorns, but it’s not difficult to fill up again.

Lovely to use but . . .Lovely to use but they break down after a couple of years. I have bought about 6 salt mills and 3 pepper mills over the years. I have gifted a set to special friends. However the mechanism in the salt mill seems to corrode after about 2 yrs. Considering the cost they should last a bit longer. The Pepper mill lasts a bit longer and doesn’t corrode as quickly.

Love theseThese are really nice, high quality salt & pepper mills that make a great wedding or anniversary gift or if you just want some high tech salt & pepper mills. My only complaint is that they were hard to set up at first, especially the pepper mill. Other that that I love them. They will definitely impress your dinner guests.

LOVE IT (after I changed the batteries)I have had several Peugeot salt and pepper grinders over the last 20 years, including the original model, the rechargeable model and now this new touch top model. First, they’re great — but a caveat: they don’t last forever. On average, I’ve had to replace one about every 10 years, and that’s OK.Once you get used to the convenience of using an adjustable electric grinder, it’s hard to ever go back to the manual kind, especially if you do a lot of cooking and you are a big fan of fresh ground spices. So far, this has been my favorite of the three models that I’ve owned, but I almost sent it back. As a veteran owner, I already knew how to take it apart and insert the batteries, fill it with pepper, and put it all back together. (It’s a little tricky — NOT completely intuitive — so if this is the first time you are using a Peugeot electric grinder, read the directions.) However, when I set this one up, it didn’t operate. So I sat down with the instruction booklet and confirmed that I had done everything correctly and it just wasn’t working. Disappointed. I was resigned that I would have to send it back. But I decided to give it one last try by going to the market and replacing the batteries that came with the grinder with new batteries from the store. VOILA!!! Works like a charm. I am thrilled that I don’t have to return it. I’ve read the reviews about machines that stop working prematurely, so I’m hoping this one lasts as long as my others. If it grinds to a halt (no pun intended), I’ll try changing the batteries. On the other hand, we all know Peugeots can be temperamental!

Absolute best one made. This one replaced a 10 year old one whose batteries leaked. The salt grinder works like new.

life changing. Well not really, buts its very nice.Using a battery powered (6 AAA) is a very nice convenience. My entire life I have grabbed the pepper mill and started turning. Not very difficult, but sometimes I am peppering steaks off the grill or some other food where I need a lot of fresh ground pepper, and it does take a bit of time and effort. This powered mill/grinder is effortless. You hold the mill over the item to be peppered and touch the top to start grinding. Its a capacitive touch button not and not an actual button that moves. The grinder also comes with a little black tray to store the unit on, this keeps any extra peeper from falling out after grinding. It also has a pepper container and funnel to make filling easier. The amount of pepper in the unit is on the smaller size, but that is actually a plus if you like to change peppercorns depending on what you are cooking.Overall I like it a lot. Probably gonna have to spring for the salt grinder too…

Disappointed With Quality Of Elis Sense Salt Mill, But Problem ResolvedI purchased this product in September 2019 within a month or two or purchasing the matching pepper mill. The pepper mill still works fine. The salt mill makes noise when I press thee button. I can hear the gears moving. But no salt comes out. I am using Himalayan salt that I purchased on Amazon. I’ve dumped the salt out several times and replaced it with fresh salt. I also keep the device on the small plastic stand to prevent moisture from getting into the device. I’ve been a fan of Peugeot pepper mills since the 1980s and I was thrilled with this one. Right now I m extremely disappointed. UPDATE 5.11.21: I located the U.S. office of the manufacturer and was given a brand new unit after sending in a photo of the defective device. I also bought additional salt directly from the manufacturer though I was told this was not necessary. I’ve had the replacement unit since Thanksgiving. It is still working fine. Consequently, I am upgrading my review to 4 stars not only because I am in love with the replacement unit, but because the Peugeot representative provided excellent customer service, which I expect when I splurge on an expensive product like this.

Easy to use, refill and look greatWe had a rechargeable set from Williams Sonoma at the same price point that lasted less than one year as would not recharge. These look great, are easy to use, adjustable as to the grind, easy to refill and use batteries.
