A Mini-Mandolin for Garlic
Slice beautifully thin and uniform garlic slices quickly and safely with this mini mandolin. Or, flip the Garlic Slicer over and grate your garlic.
The handle has a separate garlic chamber with a finger protector that tightly grips the garlic for safe slicing/shredding. Your fingers will not come in contact with either the blade or the garlic while slicing. A rubber non-slip base holds the slicer just where you want it.
The sharp blade is made of stainless steel. The body is made of BPA free heavy-duty plastic. All pieces are dishwasher safe for a quick clean up.

sharp and easy to useI bought this for garlic but found I prefer minced or grated garlic. BUT I now use it to slice cold butter onto hot toast. It is spreadable almost immediately. I just turn back a little of the butter wrapper, hold the wrapped butter in my hand and slice flat directly on to the toast and easily spread it around. And done.

Handy kitchen toolI like cooking with garlic, but don’t so much like trying to slice the irregularly shaped cloves. This device handily solves that problem. You can quickly slice several cloves of garlic for cooking. As the smallest sections get down to the blade, they sometimes don’t go through properly, but that may be a process of getting used to the product. I’m glad I purchased it.

Slices too thickIf I’m slicing garlic, you want it super thin. This is thicker than I would cut with a regular knife. Not impressed. Prob will return.

The ultimate garlic slicerI broke my old Hutzler garlic slicer after almost 20 years of use. The blade had gotten rather dull and I applied too much pressure and it broke the plastic on one side of the blade. The last time I tried to buy another one of these garlic slicers Amazon did not have them nor did anyone else. I was thrilled to see that they are back out there again. It arrived two days ago and I am overjoyed to have a sharp and intact Hutzler garlic slicer again. I also own an OXO garlic slicer and a Microplane garlic slicer and the Hutzler beats both of them hands down. The garlic slices are consistent in thickness and it operates very smoothly. Just place it over a bowl, put peeled cloves in the hopper and start slicing. It’s great for slicing ginger as well.

Great tool for your kitchen!I have had one for years and recently gave one as a gift. I use it to thin slice onions for salads, and it works beautifully!

Does What It’s Supposed to Do!I wanted a mini mandoline that DID NOT make paper-thin slices, and this works beautifully. The thickness is about that of a CD. It’s very easy to use and slices multiple cloves of garlic in seconds. There is a small piece left after slicing, but it’s about the same thickness as the slices. So, that’s not a problem. I have not used (and will not use) the shredder side. It’s just nubs and looks like it would create a nasty mess. If I want “shredded” garlic, then I will just use the garlic press. If you want paper-thin garlic that dissolves in the pan when cooking, this IS NOT for you. It serves its purpose for me!

Great garlic slicerWonderful product. Slices so much easier than my last slicer for garlic. This product made it so much easier to slice garlic than I ever thought it could be, a true well made product that does what was described much easier than other incarnations before this

Must-have for your kitchenThis little slicer is small and so easy to use, I’ve given it as a gift many times. Fits in a small space, so keep it close to where you do food prep so you can whip it out. You will get beautiful, thin slices that are perfect for salads. Makes adding those stronger items much easier when you can get them thin enough that the taste in the mouth is subtle instead of overpowering. Scallions, shallots, onions…they even look great sliced with this! Great for slicing items to saute, too. No assembling (I don’t always use the safety hopper), just start slicing. It is small, so if you are slicing an onion or large shallot you might have to cut it first to get a piece that will fit in the blade. Just rinse off and pop in the dishwasher. Order two and give one away! Oh…the very best thing…they are so inexpensive that you need not worry about dulling blades or giving one to an envious witness to your meal prep.

Perfect for a quick saladI bought this as a replacement for an old one that broke. I have never used it for garlic but I use it for veggies on top of my salad. Slices are very thin but good for a raw salad. Zucchini, carrot, cukes are great but best when very fresh and not soft. I only use the slicer guard when the pieces get small. Otherwise I just give a quick pass over the blade while holding slicer over a salad.
