This is the bomb for heating liquids to the correct temperature.

This is really a good idea for making candy. Much easier to check the temperature of the candy while stirring than trying to hold a glass thermometer or trying to attach one to the side of the pan because that never works. I used it today to make toffee. I pulled the metal part out a little way because I though it was not working but I had messed up and put too much water in so it was taking to long to get to the correct temperature. Anyway I added more butter and sugar and it got to the correct temperature and I made toffee. Unfortunately after washing my new thermometer i could not put it back together again. The top part will not fit back down into the handle. I will be sending this back right after Christmas.
Update: So sorry to the company who made this. I figured out what I was doing wrong. All I needed to do was turn it around. It did not look like that would work the way it was notched but it did. I love it now. I use it to make sure I don’t have my hot tea or hot chocolate too hot to drink. Now I don’t burn my mouth ever.

This digital candy thermometer is easy to use. I like the fact it is both a spoon to stir and I can keep an eye on my temperature. I make my own sugar free ice cream and its important to use a thermometer to know when to stop cooking the filling. I would definitely recommend this purchase if you are in need of a digital thermometer.

A great idea in theory, and worked pretty well for making fudge this afternoon. I followed a web suggestion to make sure the thermometer was accurate by testing boiling water first. In non-high-altitude, should test at 212 degrees F, and it tested correctly. I will use it for my yearly holiday fudge from now on. My wishes for a better product would be… a longer handle, more strength and sense of security where the thermometer connects with the handle on the handle end, and maybe just a nicer looking product – but that is my personal decor taste. Some notes: to remove the thermometer from spatula for cleaning, or to use thermometer without spatula, pull thermometer straight back out of spatula – no need to twist. Designed to be held with the right hand; if you hold it with the left, the thermometer face shows the numbers upside down. Remember not to just toss the whole thing in sudsy water – thermometer face/case is NOT waterproof. A non-complicated straight-forward thermometer – on/off button and C/F button. Easy.

This is much more accurate than my infrared thermometer, and a vast improvement over traditional candy thermometers. I love that the probe doesn’t come in contact with the pan, just the candy. My only complaint is that its not comfortable to hold when you’re constantly stirring caramels. Very easy to clean.

I have fallen in love with this product and recommend it to family and friends. I make yogurt and can stir my milk and check the temp all at the same time. I also love that you can use the long probe as a meat thermometer. Great job to the creators of this.

Product itself is fine, as pictured. Problem is with your delivery personnel, this is the second consecutive order of mine that has been delivered to my neighbour’s house instead. Granted she orders far more on line that I, but when I am paying a delivery charge I do expect to have the parcel delivered to my door, rather than having to retrieve it from hers!!

Material is too hard to stir liquid products like melted chocolate
