This thermometer was used for only 6 weeks (not daily) and already stopped working..filled with water in spite of it being waterproof and put in a case each time.

Purchased this thermometer to use in my kitchen at work for multiple uses. Extremely accurate and easy to use! Kitchen staple for all to have

So far this thermometer has lasted a week and a half in my darkroom lab. It’s easy to use and accurate. It claims to be waterproof and has held up. The true test of time will be if it can last a few months of regular use.

It is an incredibly accurate tool. Anyone who cooks, needs this. Temperature matters!

I purchased this to replace the one I got from work, which broke. If you intend to keep this in your pocket, it will break easily. They always bend at the same point. The metal part is not well protected. It’s an expensive and not very durible.

At least I didn’t pay much. I had another Comark that is much, much quicker. I think the number of the better one is PDT300 or 400 or something. The display on this one is also very small and is hard to read. I gave this away. If you’re a junior high student working on a science project, maybe this is a fair choice (cheap). But, it feels cheap and I won’t buy anymore. The other Comark I had was much better but it broke fairly quickly – seemed fragile to start with. I should learn to just stick with Thermoworks thermometers. They seem to cost a few bucks more but they last longer, work better and are generally much faster and more accurate. (I use up a lot of cooking thermometers and give a lot of them away.) By the way, I only paid $13.60 for this so the current price of $17 makes this even worse.

I’m using this thermometer for brewing beer, and it seems to be effective. I haven’t attempted to verify its accuracy, but it would seem to be accurate based on correlation between my anticipated post-mash gravity reading and mash/ sparge prescribed temperature ranges. I ran it through the dishwasher as the packaging promised it was dishwasher safe, and it did not survive. The LCD readout is no longer readable. I would imagine I got a defective unit. Amazon replaced it free of charge, but I will not be putting the new unit in the dishwasher…
PROS:
It is quick to arrive at a temperature
Temperature readings seem accurate
CONS:
The first unit I received failed to survive the dishwasher

Not dishwasher safe. Broke after one wash.
