I have owned mine for 4 years now and absolutely love this kitchen tool. I just keep it in its original box in the back of one of our utensil drawers, and use it about once a month. What a value and a bargain– best thing about this thermometer is that it is instant-on the moment you unfold the probe from the body, and instant-off the moment you retract it back into the body. No batteries dying on you because you forgot to turn it off, this is a great little piece of engineering! One last thing: the temp is extremely accurate and the second you unfold the probe it is sampling the air temperature. This thing is quick and zoned in on any temp you want to measure. Love this thermometer.

Pop it open, take the temp of whatever it is you’re cooking, and know you’re not going to be eating undercooked food. What more peace of mind could you ask for? Having had food poisoning several times in the last 20 years, this thing is priceless! Works like a charm to take every bit of the guesswork out of cooking. Best little kitchen gadget I’ve ever purchased.

I’ve had other devices for measuring temperatures with a probe, but they end up fritzing out pretty early. Deciding on which Instant Thermometer to get for my kitchen, well, I just took a chance on this and won!
Con: if you get too close to metal that is magnetized, like our outside grill surface is, whoa watch out! Instant attraction, splat. Grab the tongs and get that meat and thermometer off the grill asap!
Pro: I can get the temperature of liquids or meat very quickly. The probe is strong to slide into meat, and easily folds back which turns off the display. Just as easy to turn it on by pull it out.

This thermometer broke within the first couple of uses. It was reading very different temperatures than the meat actually was, and doesn’t seem to work properly at all. I do enjoy the design of the item, I like that you can move the metal rod but unfortunately it does not work well.

The temperature is accurate. I took my own which for me is 36.2 and it was right on the mark. It is about twice as fast as my last thermometer. My flatmate agrees too, that it is quicker, in fact it was him who first pointed it out.
If it means anything to anyone, I am a professional cook, and am impressed by the product so far.
