I use this to make my homemade yogurt. It works well. It has a cute little clip on it so you can hang it onto the edge of your pot and not risk third degree milk burn. Most importantly though is that it has a little straw-shaped plastic case to hold it in. I just like wearing on my shirt with my pens and pencils. I look very ‘technical’ and I think the ladies like it.

The pride helps me gauge how hot the milk is in the picture. Once I get the field, I won’t be using the thermometer. But it works great.

This is a good thermometer if you intend to insert/submerge the probe fairly deeply. If you only insert the probe 1/2″ or so, you will not get an accurate reading.

This makes steaming milk for lattes and cappuccinos quite easy. The clip holds well, and it’s easy to tell when the milk is the right temperature.

I use this thermometer when scalding milk for yogurt. I like that it sticks out a bit from the edge of the pot (previously I was using a flat thermometer that was nearly flush with the side of the pan, and I was always skeptical about whether it was measuring the temperature of the pot or the bulk of the milk). The downside of the thermometer sticking out, however, is that the pot lid does not fully cover the top of the pot. Minor issue, as far as I am concerned. This thermometer is very easy to clean and stores easily in a drawer.

We like it big here in Texas. But a too big of a dial does not work in a normal sized frothng cup.
