I bought this because I have a stand-up freezer in a hot garage and a 32 yr old refrigerator in my kitchen I’m holding my breath doesn’t break. Plus I live in hurricane country. I put one sensor in each freezer to alert me if any problems without having to discover them in a less pleasant way. It did take me a bit to realize the defrost cycle was setting off the alarm once a day in the kitchen that only lasted a short period of time. I feel more confidant having them.

While you can use more than one main unit (and 4x sending units), the main units still want to pick up the sending units for the other main unit even though supposedly there are “millions” of codes that can be used.
However, I just walked way in to backyard, with 2nd main unit and its sending units, and set up the second unit there. Then once they are connected, walked them back inside and installed them in to freezers.
I take off one star due to these main units do not have any kind of memory.
So when you have to replace batteries, you have to re-sync the sending units with the main unit again, AND THEN reset all the alarm settings again. It should have a capacitor to hold settings for at least a few hours so that you can change batteries

I har to dock one star because they sent the incorrect color. I ordered black to mach my new frige but got white instead. Other than that it works 100% perfect

My wife and I have 2 kids and then the dozens of kids that spend the weekend with us – every weekend they go on the search for ice cream, pop sickles, treats, snacks, frozen burritos. 2 out of 10 times someone leaves the door open, or something falls, and they don’t see it until I wake up in the morning and EVERYTHING is either ruined, dethawed or we have to cook it right now. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking — DID IT HAPPEN – IS IT OPEN — and I walk out like a zombie to check and then walk back and fall asleep.
NO LONGER!!!! This thing is a gem. I have placed one in the freezer in the garage and one in the freezer in the house and they work like McGruff the Crime Dog. Takes about 20 minutes of the freezer being opened before it starts sounding the alarm to account for false positives. When it goes off, it’s 100% because the door was opened. Last time it happened before buying this we had to throw out about $500 in food from hamburger, turkeys, steaks, go on the sadness was real.
PROS:
– No more clearing out the freezer and start over because someone left it opened
– It comes with 2 devices
– Easy to use and setups within minutes
– Accurate temperature within 1 degree or 2 from my old school thermometer and this one
– Has plenty of options and alarms that you can setup
– Distance is really good – this thing is behind 3 walls and in a garage not connected to the house
CONS:
– Nada
Bottomline – I sleep better now and so will you!!!

Only thing I dislike is that the remote sensors take AA batteries (2 each) and the base station takes AAA batteries (2). Why not make them the same, one way or the other??

We have 2 garage freezers, and put this main Board on our Kitchen Fridge. The freezer door on stand-up was not completely closed about a week after installation, and the audible alarm set to go off at -5F (we keep freezer at -17F) let us know immediately there was a correctable problem before any issues occurred. You get a view of min/max temps with an easy reset so you can also see what’s happened while you were out or asleep. As a bonus there’s an indoor temp and min/max also displayed so you can track how your HVAC is doing indoors. Definitely a plus in the Mohave Desert.

Bad light other than that it’s fine

I have an overpriced fridge with a lot of electronic crap I really didn’t need. One thing it tells me is what the temperature is set at but doesn’t tell me the actual temperature or warm me when it not cooling properly. After a power surge blew the compressor it was cooling off and on, so I bought this to monitor the internal temperature. Only thing I have against it is you have to look at a specific angle to clearly read it, but was easily fixed by moving it lower on the fridge

This two thermometer readout is clear, with large letters, easily seen from a distance. We also like the two sensors, able to be placed where we need them in our RV refrigerator. Working great and very reasonbly priced.

June 15th, 2022. (New Version) AMIR Refrigerator Thermometer, Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermometer, Sensors.
I purchased this unit for my aging deep freeze, primarily for its ability to set an upper temperature limit and warn me by a continuous alarm when that temperature is exceeded. Two temperature sensors are provided so I placed the other in my refrigerator.
The unit comes with instructions which in themselves are easy to read and follow, however setting the alarm temperatures (minimum and maximum) does not work as one would expect from reading the instructions. They have omitted something. I did manage to set the temperature range but more by luck than understanding the instructions or interpretation. Others have commented on this issue so I am not alone. At one stage I was going to send the item back because I could not set the alarm temperatures and I can understand why others have.
The units work okay and the temperature accuracy is not too bad compared to my mercury thermometer. Probably a couple of degrees out which is not critical in my application and have allowed for in the settings..
The unit(s) d not come with batteries and the two sensors need lithium batteries if using in a refrigerated environment You will need 4 x AA Lithium batteries which add significantly to the cost. The control unit uses 2 x AAA.
Durability will be interesting. I hope they outlive the lithium battery life!
