Most ovens these days come with a built-in timer, but not all of them are loud enough to hear from another part of the house. With this portable timer, cooks won’t be bound to the kitchen while brownies bake or a vegetable pot pie cooks. This simple timer has a mechanical pointer that winds around the face to count down anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes. The instrument ticks while in use and, when time is up, it sounds a long (about 5 seconds) and loud ring that can be heard while running the shower or over the noise of the clothes dryer. Cooking aside, this gadget is also great for setting time-outs for toddlers. (When the timer rings, kids can come out of their rooms or chairs.) This timer has a large face with easy-to-read numbers and Taylor ensures complete accuracy in its readings through a one-year limited warranty. –Cristina Vaamonde

No batteries needed–no need to replace every so oftenthis mechanical ring timer is simple and a good size—it does not need any batteries as you would simply manually wind it to your desired time. It is made of a sturdy plastic and you can just place it on your kitchen counter or anywhere you plan on using it. The numbers are large enough that you can easily see when winding. Make sure you wind it PAST 55 and then back to the desired minutes (5,10,15,etc) this seems to reset it to wind and ring when the time is up. The ringer is loud enough to hear if you are not in the same room—-it also has a ticking noise as it counts down. It is not digital so it doesn’t light up—you will need to use it in a lit room. Timer goes up to 60 minutes max.

Nice loud and long ringWe’ve thrown away so many timers. They don’t ring loud enough or long enough. This one does! We love it! Easy to read and use.
Lin Hart –

UPDATE: Bell doesn’t always ringThe timer is easy to use and read and seems to count down the time accurately. The bell only rings sometimes however, which makes it kind of useless. This happens even though I am always careful to turn the dial past 55 and then turn down to the target minutes, according to the instructions.UPDATE: After using it several times, it now rings every time. Maybe the mechanism had to loosen up.

TrashUsed it 2 times then would not set to my time. It kept changing to another time. After multiple tries, put out in garbage. Waste of money and hope it would work for me.

It’s the best timer I have ever had.I like the fact it has a loud ring and a long ring. As I am nearly 90 I am getting very forgetful so this timer makes sure I hear it even if I have popped into the other room.
