I love it. It’s quick and easy to use and it doesn’t require a lot of extra pieces. Store away easily. It’s perfect!

I bought this to make long, spaghetti-size Zoodles from zucchini and carrots, and I hate this product.
The metal/silver part where you’re supposed to hold it – that cut my finger as I was removing it from the box. So, for not being a ‘slicing’ part of this thing, it sure is sharp. Probably not the best place to direct your customers to grip while using this product.
The functionality – horrible. I tried a peeled zucchini first; essentially you’re supposed to treat this as a pencil sharpener (move the vegetable, not the peeler). Instead of long, spaghetti-length zoodles I got one, big, continuous ‘zoodle’ that was thin but *very* wide in length. Who wants to eat a ‘noodle’ that’s wider than their mouth?!? Next I tried a peeled full-size carrot; the smaller end got lodged in the peeler and the rest of the carrot was too thin to maneuver in the giant-size hole of this product.
That was enough for me – between cutting my finger, having it not work as described and having to dislodge a carrot tip with a pair of tweezers: I returned it.

I orignally gave this 5* but dropping the review to a 4*.
Update: Since I was impressed with using the zucchini I tried with the sweet potato and that didnt work well. I could barely get spirals. Maybe a sweet potato is too hard for the zoodle slicer. Also I wished it used more of the end of the zucchini. Since I find it annoying to use it manually I will also buy the one at $30 from another maker so I can get different blades and also make it more practical for when I’m cooking for more than 1 meal.
Will still keep this
Original review: ordered this product as I thought of trying a new diet. Well I gave up the idea of dieting but am focusing instead on replacing my carbs by better and healthier alternatives.
This product arrived fast and its very self explanatory to use. I bought 1 zucchini and decided to make zoodles. The product comes with a small pamphlet of recipes which is what I needed as I had no idea how long to cook the zoodles until I saw the 5minutes mentioned in one of the recipes on the pamphlet. Ok… I might not be the most organized but all i wanted was to try it as fast as I could.
Only drawback is that you lose the end of the zucchini as you wont be able to spiral it. But thats a detail as i just chopped it off in pieces and add it in my meat sauce.
My biggest surprise is that I actually loved my meal. Besides the texture being a little more spongy I would say it taste as good if not bettet than pasta.
I think this product is perfect for 1 or 2 meals at a time. But if I’m trying to make zoodles for 3 people or more… I need something a little more elaborate… maybe electric to save time.
Sometimes healthier alternatives means lack of taste but in this case zoodles are tastier than pasta. For me… I do not intend to buy pasta and will use this on a regular for myself and maybe 1 other person.
I ate the entire zucchini in one meal… not sure if my portions are right but at least its not carbs! My “pasta” was so tasty… peep the picture!
I can’t wait to try it with other veggies and google recipes online and get inspired by the pamphlet given.
This might make it to the list of items for gift exchange next Christmas… I know I’m early but its very practical, useful, easy to clean and a great add to the kitchen. Did I add it also comes with a peeler?

Once you get the hang of using this, it works. The metal edges are sharp, so be careful you don’t get injured while learning to use it. Also, the included peeler was broken. For $9.99 I didn’t bother to complain to Amazon about it, though, since it was an “extra”.
Conclusion: worth $9.99, but it ain’t fancy.

My brother prepared a meal with this zoddle tool and I was sold. A neat device that takes zucchini and shreds it like spaghetti. It comes with a few recipes but basically blanch the zucchini in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Either drain it and use your favorite spaghetti sauce or sauté it in a pan with oil and seasonings. I could not believe it that how much zoodles with tomato sauce tasted just like spaghetti.
Be sure the zucchini is well drained so hot oil does not splash out. For sautéing blanching is not necessary.
With a medium zucchini the zoodles can become quite long. After about a foot long shred, pullout the zucchini to break the shredded zoodle and restart. Use one medium size zucchini person since it cooks down some.
To fool your fussy kids that won’t eat vegetables, mix it with regular spaghetti.
I’ve used it to shred fresh carrots for salads and it worked great. I have not used the other side to make ribbon slices. I think it would work with cucumbers for a decorative salad dish.

I’m so glad I got this one instead of something fancier and bigger. Easy to use….like sharpening a pencil. Quick… one zucchini zoodled in about a minute. Easy to clean…use the brush. Easy to store….it’s very small so you can stash it anywhere. I have not tried it with anything other than zucchini; harder vegetables might be more difficult.

Probably won’t use this much. My wrist aches from twisting the zucchini thru it. It is small (which fits in a drawer nicely) but don’t work with my big garden zucchini. Wish I would have bought the bigger crank kind.

It did not cut my zucchini easily.
