we have been making our own mince for a year now, as supermarket mince seems to be 50% water. The previous machine was “clockwork” and tended to jam up with fat/gristle/sinew/whatever but this attachment just draws in the meat and delivers lovely mince all the time. Now my son and wife fight over who does it. No workout for me but hey, who cares!

This is a quality metal meat grinder attachment for Kitchen Aid stand mixers. I have had previous plastic models which crack and become useless. Don’t even consider buying the inferior models made by others. Buy the original Kitchen Aid. Besides being a well made product Kitchen Aid has outstanding customer service. The most important step in using this or any other non commercial meat grinder is to cut the meat into 1″ cubes and place the meat and the grinder attachment in the freezer for 30 minutes prior to using. This will insure that the grinder will provide the best results and not jam

Sturdy, easy to use. I never ground my own beef before and it makes a huge difference than store bought burger. Nice and light and tender. Buy meat on sale….Game changer!

I thought I would save some money by purchasing the plastic version of this meat grinder instead of the metal one and I am very pleased with my purchase. The grinder works great with whole boneless chicken that I use to make my dogs food every week. It is much cheaper to purchase chicken from the store that has not been ground yet and so every time I use this I feel like I am getting money back in my pocket. It grinds the meat perfectly and is very easy to attach, clean, and store. Some of the meat sometimes gets lodged in the grinder but it doesn’t make it stop or anything. You just have to clean it thoroughly afterwards which is very easy. It was a very good purchase in my opinion.

Last year I ordered the juicing attachment for my mixer and never got it opened until a couple weeks ago when I looked at the many pounds of tomatoes in my garden. When I set the mixer up, I realized I needed the grinder unit to use the juicer unit. My fault, but KA just didn’t give that info very readily on the juicer attachment. So .. . got it and set it up the other day and processed 30 lbs of tomatoes in about 20 minutes – was VERY impressed with how it made tomato processing a piece of cake. – washed the tomatoes and pushed em through. Couldn’t be easier. I’ll edit review when sausage making is done. It’s obviously not a commercial system, but should be fine for family usage.

As with Dalstrong products (See my reviews) this thing screams quality versus other brands.
This thing easily chewed through everything i put down its neck. I can’t even toss out the box it’s such nice packaging and a good storage option.
For easy clean-up after grinding, toss a slice or two of bread down it and run it until the bread stops coming out. Then take it apart and look for yourself. Most of the cleaning will be done for you. What follows is a simple soap and water massage by hand.

I was able to disassemble and assemble easily, washed pretty easily, hooked up easily, cut up some beef, turned on the mixer, and it ground up about 4 lbs. No problem. That’s all I can ask for.

I bought this grinder to grind up deer meat. The only draw back to the item is that you have to cut up meat small because of the small throat size. But it does an excellent job. Highly recommend.

I’m really picky about ground meats and won’t eat it if I don’t trim and grind it myself. Too many bad experiences with mystery chunks or too much gristle in commercially ground meats. This works really well and makes a nice textured ground meat. So far I’ve ground chuck roasts and pork roasts and been really pleased with the finished product.
Glad I read the previous reviews that warned not to put the parts in the dishwasher. I just have a sink of hot, soapy water ready and I just disassemble it right away and soak it for a few minutes in the hot water and wash it right away. Comes clean really easily and the box it comes in is perfect for storage. Really happy with the purchase.

I bought this all metal KichenAid grinder and sausage stuffer over the plastic models because I felt it would hold up longer and work better for making sausage and grinding my own meat. I used it the first weekend after I got it and I made some Texas Hot Links from a YouTube video I had found, and it was easy and fun!!
I’ve been cooking all my life and most friends call me Chef, so yes I know what I’m doing in the kitchen. So there are several things that should be done when grinding meats and stuffing sausage and there are great how-to videos that show the proper steps like freezing the hopper and grinder before using to keep the meat cold and all the other tips. It doesn’t matter what grinder is being used, the tips apply to all.
This KithchenAid attachment is a great product and makes the job easy, all you have to do is use it properly.
