Previously opened boxI liked this product, but when I received it, it was obviously a previously opened box. There was even a sticker on it from Amazon stating it was previously opened. My disappointment is that I was not given a choice as to whether I wanted an open boxed product. I have no idea if it was used previously but I did cook with it on the day I received it and it worked. I also paid full price for it but was not informed when I ordered it that it would be an open box. If I had gone to a store and had a choice between an open box or unopened, for full price I would chose unopened. I am really disappointed with this shipment even though the product seems to work.

Terrific Gourmet Stainless Steel 18/10 Electric SkilletI bought this a few years ago and used it only it once but due to my current circumstances, I cannot run up and down the stairs in my home. Today, in my kitchen, I grabbed a gallon sized Zip-Lock bag, added three small kosher lamb chops, six organic baby potatoes, a half clove of organic garlic with the skins on, some balsamic vinegar, some Worcestershire Sauce, some Moroccan Olive Oil, some Bell’s seasoning, some sweet grape wine, a heaping tea spoon of cornstarch, closed the bag and gave it a good shake and left it in the bag for a little while. Then, I cleaned, dried and sprayed the electric pan with some nonstick spray and wiped the pan with a paper towel. Set the pan on a marble cutting board. This pan gets hot, so be sure it’s on a safe surface. I set the temperature for 225 and added my lamb, garlic and baby potatoes, once the meat started to sizzle, I turned each piece of meat over, added a little water, and set a timer for two hours. One thing I want to note is, the water evaporates while the meat is cooking, so you need to be nearby watching to add a little more water at a time. It took about an hour and fifty minutes to cook (I like my meat to be thoroughly cooked inside). The last twenty minutes I added two sliced organic carrots. This meal came out great! If you’re concerned about the food starting to stick, pour a little more wine in the pan to deglaze while cooking and be sure to use silicone spatula or one that won’t scratch the pan.I wish this pan came in a smaller size because this pan is too big for travel unless you are checking a large suitcase and you wrap the glass cover enough that it won’t break. I am happy with this pan.

dont always take in the reviewswe’ve been using our skillet pretty regularly for about a month now and NO PROBLEMS tempeture holds true to the control setting ,,,, stainless cleans up easily (You have to know how to clean stainless Properly) size wise theres only 2 of us and from what I can see its pretty well made….. were very happy hope it lasts as long as our last one about 30 yrs… in my opinion most bad reviews come from those who have no experience operating or know how to properly care for this type of cookware….. learn to properly use and care for the items you purchase….. GREAT PRODUCT

Best stainless steel electric skillet around!i searched the internet for months for a stainless steel electric skillet to replace my 30-year-old Farberware electric pan. (I replaced one foot and the control/cord over the years. I still mourn its passing.) I’d tried the non-stick coated pans and hated the coating — food stuck anyway and the coating came off. Hubby came home proudly presenting the (cheap) TV-advertised copper non-stick pan. I DID like the square pan, but otherwise, WHAT a joke! It cooked food in the middle (within a 6-inch circle). Ever eat a half-cooked pancake? Half was cooked, the other half near the edge was not. Then I found Aroma Houseware’s shiny stainless electric skillets. They’re beautiful, they clean easily and they cook perfectly from edge to edge. They clear lid is wonderful so I can see how the food is progressing. The temperature gage is accurate! There are some drawbacks, but I’ll suffer through now that I have a great stainless pan again. The beautiful skillet is very heavy, and its stainless handles on the sides and lid are NOT insulated. It’s “built very low to the table/counter but it’s attractive and can go from kitchen to table/buffet. The pan is a little shallow but that’s OK for just the 2 of us; I don’t have to make double batches of chili any more. And I don’t have to use those awful plastic utensils that are not supposed to scratch.

Great skillet for the priceUPDATE: We purchased this in February 2014. It died May 2015. I started smelling something like saudering earlier this week. Today, the unit started smoking where you plug in the cord to the skillet. I made sure there was no food or grease in there and tried again. At the 225 temp, it doesn’t smoke, but if you go over that, it starts smoking. We really loved this skillet while it lasted- but I wish it had lasted longer. I don’t want to spend $60 a year on a new one.——-We love this skillet! With propane so high, we decided to try an electric skillet and wait out the prices. After some research, we settled on the Aroma. This skillet cooks really great. The heat is fairly even – which is unusual in most electric skillets. Of course, the middle is always warmest, but the outer edges are always close in temperature. For cleaning, if you get a tough stain just put a little vinegar in it and put it on low. Bring to a boil and unplug. The stuck food comes right off. Be sure to season after you do this! Also, watch the bottom. There are holes in the bottom – probably to let it breathe – but these can easily get water in them. Be extremely careful if you run water in the skillet.I’ve used this to cook enchiladas, spaghetti, meatballs, crumbled meat, homemade tortillas and more. Pancakes take longer to cook than in an iron skillet – because electric skillets don’t hold heat like iron – but I just add a little extra cooking time. This cooks hot, so you will rarely go over 300 degrees.
