This frying pan is the perfect size. It’s cute and convenient. BUT it is very badly made and unsafe to use.
First, this is an appliance meant to be used in a kitchen…meaning lots of steel and the likelihood of water around. The plug isn’t a three prong, grounded plug, which all kitchen appliances should have. And the heating element is unenclosed, it gets red hot and its exposed, and less that two inches from the surface upon which it being used.
Two things happened. First, I got a shock when plugging it in. Second, there is now a burn mark on my kitchen counter.
I will never buy another Maxi-matic product.

It was a gift for my son. He loves it for college and says it works great!

I use this in my semi truck to have the ability to cook food out on the road. It works fabulous for just me with enough room to ground a pound of hamburger meat among numerous other items. It’s only about 600 watts which is in range of what my truck power capabilities are.
The only downfall I find is the cord is extremely short so I use a small extension cord

Works great. Easy to clean and is easy to use.

I bought this 8-inch electric frying pan because of the size. I live alone, in an apartment and am looking for alternatives to using my stove – which sucks up so much power every time I turn it on. I bought this 8-inche square electric frying pay – hoping to use it for “multi-purpose” cooking. Its the perfect size for grilled cheese sandwich (two if you cut one in half), or two fried eggs and I even used it to make a generous serving of rice. However, I found the legs weren’t stable so it seemed like it would tip over easily. The temperature control is basically “on” or “off’ which meant I had to stand there, continuously tweaking the heat-control dial as I was cooking. I sent the frying pack. FYI, I did buy a similar unit through Amazon – which is more stable and which I’ve kept – but I really am searching for a good quality small electric frying pan – (with reliable temperature control and even surface heat) – for multi use cooking. If anyone knows of such a product, please post a reply to this review. Thanks!

as my small power station would operate it. Fortunately, Ian missed us and we know how blessed we are but we use the little pan frequently for a lunch-for-one day. Great little pan.

So my granddaughter is 10 & likes to experiment in the kitchen. I am not comfortable with her operating a gas range so I opted for several small appliances she can prepare quick things for herself after school or on weekends. I ordered this as well as a mini griddle and a noodle cooker. She prepares SO many different things in these 3 little appliances with this mini electric skillet being the most versatile. She makes grilled cheese, smoked sausage, broccoli & omlettes in this little thing. I ordered another for my nephew’s dorm room in college. They both are pleased with it. I’d purchase again for other college students or pre-teens trying to learn their ways around the kitchen.

The lock for the handle will not position correctly, see image one.
The thermostat would not go beyond the low range. However, I was eventually able to adjust the fry pan to the medium range once it had warmed up.
As you can see, the heating element is only partially warming the base of the fry pan. Since I am using it as a water bath, that is okay, but it would not be acceptable if you were cooking a grilled cheese sandwich.
When the thermostat was stuck on low, I was having extreme difficulty melting these small vessels of Gulf wax. However, in the final picture, once I was able to turn the thermostat up to medium, the water heated up quite quickly.
