Good Cordless Fillet KnifeI have used mine for one fishing season, filleting mostly channel cats. It worked well — the battery had enough power to get through at least a dozen fish (and more), the motor was strong enough to power the blades through bone, and the blades were sharp and have a nice “fillet knife” shape.Using it on hot days, I did notice that the motor seemed to get pretty hot itself, but didn’t experience any problems. As noted elsewhere, the included fillet board is practically useless as such — I picked up the 19″ x 48″ cutting board from AP Outdoors (also available on Amazon), and that has worked well.I don’t think this knife is as powerful as the corded units available, but cordless was an important feature to me and it has worked fine on the 2lb to 10lb freshwater fish that I need to clean.I have not looked lately, but as others have commented, it would be better if replacement batteries and/or knife assemblies were available.

JUNKDO NOT BUY! Was in the middle of cleaning the very 1st fish with this, and it broke. Blades stopped moving. Seems like gears stripped. Contacted the company, and they refused to warranty or replace because it was a Christmas gift, and I didn’t use it until the summer. Past the return date from Amazon, and since it was a gift, I did not have original receipt, Berkley refuse to do anything.

The best Cordless Fillet Out thereUsed this for over a season of Saltwater fish filleting, Mostly Redfish. Trout, Pampano, & Snapper, up to 28″. It is a very good cordless fillet knife, I know of none better on the market currently. That said it does have some minor problems, sometimes the blades come out, the blade could be longer, it is not as powerful as an electric, but for me the cordless feature more than makes up for it, I’ve done maybe 3 tx limits of redfish before the battery finally dies, which for you non texans, thats 9 redfish most right up there in 24″ to 28″ range. I’ve recommended this to most of my fishing partners. No battery problems on my knife. Good Luck!

Works as well as any of the others. The knife works, the two blades are nice touch, especially when you are cleaning smaller fish. I have yet to find a electric fillet knife that seems to handle large volumes of fish and this one has some nice features but falls short on others.1.Ergonomic handle and sharp blades are certainly a plus2. “Cigarette” Light attachment is great3. Nice carry case, although the amount of foam makes repacking a little difficult4. Before long I developed a short in the cord, I was able to replace the end and it worked.5. Part of the motor mount is plastic and the motor torque managed to break the plastic. I was able to replace with a metal screw, but not a great design idea.

I works great. There is a flaw howeverI bought the 12 volt version since I use t a lot while camping without hookups, I works great. There is a flaw however, the part that connects to the battery and has a cigarette lighter adapter is made very poorly. It has already broken and I have used it only a few times. I fixed it with electrical tape, but it is a cheesy fix. The knife works well though. I would have given it 5 stars if the adapter wasn’t made so poorly.
