This play and freeze ice cream maker provides students with a hands-on experience studying the properties of movement, freezing, and basic science principles all while making ice cream. No electricity is needed, make the ice cream by rolling the ball, and it is ready in approximately 30 minutes and makes 1 pint of ice cream. The ice cream maker is durable, made of polycarbonate construction. Please note that additional materials are needed to make the ice cream- ice, rock salt, and ice cream mix (sold separately).Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

Requires practiceIt definitely works. However while it is portable it is not as easy to use as I expected. You need to scrape the inside walls partway through and can’t use metal (risk of damaging the food prep surface). Finding a wooden or plastic spoon with a thin enough edge to really get in there is unlikely so you have to use force to get it done, and force plus some unfrozen cream in the middle can be a messy proposition. It was better the second time around with a bit of practice, but still a bit messy.Cleaning is easier than I expected, and it appears to be durable and well made.

Get the kids off the electronics and a sweet treat at the same timeThis product was very fun if you want to get kids off their electronics and they have so much fun with this because they’re working for their ice cream tree they get the rolls of ball toss the ball on the floor they can use the indoors and outside very and outside very easy to clean it makes so much ice cream just a little advice make sure you read the instructions on what type of milk you use and that don’t let you know how long to roll or shake the ball

Family fun IceCream makerFamily friendly although it does take a bit longer than I’d like to actually make the IceCream. We had 4 teenagers rolling it for over 20 minutes and it still wasn’t completely ready.

It makes ice cream.I fought my wife on buying this thing.I’m glad that she did it anyways in retrospect.I had visions of this ball taking up space in my cabinets for years without us ever using it, however, it has made quite a bit of ice cream.I use it now more than her.I like that the container is only one pint, so I’m not making a whole lot at once. It doesn’t take a lot of ingredients to turn out some decent ice cream. It’s surprisingly fun.You fill the bottom with ice and salt. You fill the top with heavy cream or coconut cream or whatever -add sugar and cocoa powder or vanilla and it turns out pretty damn good every time.I grew up with automatic ice cream makers and ice cream makers that had like a gel pack and all kinds of silly things with crank handles because my dad had dreams of making his own cream at home but he never really did. These things collected dust. Store bought ice cream is perfectly good. The whole idea of making ice cream to me sounds like a miserable chore.Because it’s a ball, it doesn’t really feel like work and we just started eating the concoctions straight out of the ball which is fine. I was wrong to argue with her when she wanted to buy this. Im converted. You should buy one. Or don’t. I don’t care.

Don’t throw it.Made enough delicious ice cream for small portions for 3 kids abd 2 adults. We used cream because it freezes fastest and tastes amazing! To nake ice cream we sat on the floor in a circle, played music and rolled it back and forth quickly between us. Stirred once, after about 12 minutes and rolled around for another 7 minutes. Delicious!

It will break and it may take longer than 20 minutesI’m a kitchen science teacher and my students use this ball to make ice cream when they are learning about freezing points. I found, through trial and error, that in order for ice cream to be made in 20 minutes the ball must be vigorously shaken which can be difficult for kids to sustain. Rolling it across the floor is not sufficient. Most of the ice cream my 7th and 8th grade students ended up with was more like a shake than solid ice cream but they enjoyed it nonetheless! Warning: It WILL break if it is accidentally dropped (I lost 2 of them because my students dropped them).

The coolest way to make ice creamI’d be talking about this with a co-worker, so I bit the bullet and bought one. It’s so cool!! (pun intended). Pop in the ingredients and then just roll it around the office for a bit and you have some great ice cream. We haven’t tried too many different flavors yet, but will definitely be doing so as it gets warmer outside. I imagine this is mostly made for kids to “make” their own ice cream, but this group of adults loves it!
