Secura Smokeless Indoor Grill 1800-WattWe purchased this because our gas grill broke. We didn’t want to invest in a new one yet. We are about to move. There is a learning curve going from gas to electric but we figured it out. Grill Steaks, Chicken, Ribs, Vegetables. Grill reverses to a griddle. We cook breakfast items easily. This grill/griddle is big. There are many smaller sizes on the market but we wanted to have room to cook several things at once! This fits the bill! We would purchase again.

Excellent bargainThis is a great grill. It heats up quickly and evenly. The non-stick cast iron grilling surface works great. It would have given it 5 stars for it’s one design flaw. The double side cooking surface has two functions. One side is for grilling meat. One side is for grilling things like eggs/pancakes and the like. The problem occurs when you try to cook something runny like eggs. The openings that were meant to allow grease runoff when cooking something like hamburgers, also lets eggs to drain off the grilling surface into the grease catch pan. You need to plug those holes with something when cooking eggs or tilt the grill slightly to stop stuff from running off into the holes (that’s what I did.) Even with this design flaw, I would still suggest this product.

Quickly replaced a grill and stovetop!Alright! Now this is easy and much more convenient! First off, I had searched high and far, contemplating propane or electric, cheap or expensive, and if I was willing to actually use it or would it be a 1 time thing. That being said, I found this, ordered it, and “seasoned” the both sides as stated in directions for use. Product came exactly as described, in solid packaging and no parts missing or broken (1 star). The manual is pretty helpful and well written (1 star). I know some users on here were asking if it comes with a scraper tool, and IT DOES! So do not buy extras, it even has teeth on 1 end for the grill pan side.Got it wiped down/cleaned and seasoned. Ready to use! Let me just say, I have had this product for about 3 weeks now and there has been no wear, it is fairly easy to clean (1 star) and I just store it in my oven as I live in Arizona and it gets waaaay too hot here to use the oven during the Summer months. The thing takes up a lot of counter space, as it fits in my oven on the top rack just perfect, standard size oven. However, that is not a negative for me because I knew it was pretty good size based on reviews, product description and other users pics.So far, we have made grilled cheese, pancakes, steak, eggs, grilled veggies, turkey burgers, and hot dogs with toasted buns. The pan gets pretty hot and heats evenly across the pan, no cool spots or extremely hot spots (1 star), so I just cooked on it as it sat on my stovetop, then I turned on the vent under the microwave as I cooked. The steak, burgers, and hot dogs let off some smoke and living in an apartment, it builds up fairly quickly. The removable glass top is nice also, although I am a avid checker of foods while cooking so I just remove it and set it aside for the most part, as stuff splatters the glass top becomes another object to clean when finished cooking (1 star). We really enjoy the product and find it much easier to use rather than going to the grill within the apartment complex and having to worry about cleaning other peoples mess. The grill/griddle does not heat up the kitchen as the stovetop or oven would and clean-up makes it so much easier as well. Very happy consumer!! Now all I need is more recipes and ideas to use this with!As you can see the pictures attached. I used the grill side to make the steak, no oil or butter used to cook it and still got very nice sear marks. The veggies I used the griddle side (it is very easy to turn over the grill/griddle even when hot, just gotta be careful) with no oil or butter, just a few sprinkles of water then finished with some salt and pepper. The steak was delicious, probably best steak I’ve made it quite some time and the zucchini was to die for delicious!!

Secura GR-1503XL 1700W Electric Reversible 2 in 1 Grill Griddle w/ Glass Lid Indoor OutdoorThis was a replacement for an older electric griddle that finally gave up the ghost. At first, it thought it was somewhat smaller than the old one. I realized that it is just the right size for my wife and I. First, many reviews say that the cord is too short but I found that it is perfect for me. I guess that’s subjective on where your outlets are. For me, this fits perfectly on my stove where I have outlets on each side. Where my old griddle had a small drip dish under it, this boasts a huge pan that’s the same size as the griddle. The griddle/grill is a good size non-stick 15.5”x11.5″ cooking area that allows for more than enough room for me. With 1700 Watts, it gets hot fast and allows for good searing of meats with no hot spots or cold spots. Now, to my favorite part, this has a glass lid. With my old griddle, grease had a tendency of splattering everywhere. With this griddle, the lid keeps grease to a minimum in the surrounding area. It lifts up and off for easy cleaning. My favorite part is how I am able to close the lid while cooking in order to keep the heat in and decrease heat loss, causing more even cooking of my foods. My first meal consisted of using the grill top to make steaks – a thick 2 1/2″ filet mignon and a 1 1/2″ thick New York Strip. It took a total cooking time of around 6 minutes to make the strip at a beautiful rare and around 7-8 minutes on the filet for a medium rare. Both steaks were very tender and juicy!! Again, the glass lid helped the cooking time and to keep the juices in the meat. As for cleanup, this breaks down very quick and easy to allow it to be cleaned. I love the drip pan that’s easily removed for cleaning and the ability to get into the edges of the grill with hot soapy water. As for using this indoors AND outdoors, indoor is a no brainer but if using it outdoors, make sure it is under a covered area of raining. After all, it is electric.I would give this 10 stars if possible. I absolutely love it! I wish I would have found this a long time ago. I highly recommend it to someone looking to buy an indoor griddle/grill.**UPDATE**I have had this grill/griddle for about 6 months now. I use it at least twice a week from cooking burgers, steaks and so much more. It accidentally slipped through my hand after washing it and fell to the floor, breaking off the handle. I immediately contacted the manufacturer and ask if I could possibly purchase a new one. They were prompt and courteous in an immediate email, getting my order number and a copy of my online receipt. I received another email saying that they were sending a replacement handle immediately, free of charge! Unless a few other businesses are not reading this, it is exactly how to have excellent customer support! I am still using this griddle and I wish I could give it more than just 5 stars!

AmazingThe media could not be loaded.
Very easy to clean, nonstick and great heat dispersion. I can cook about anything on this including panini if I use the 3 1/2 lbs meat press and with the rings I can make perfect pancakes, eggs and omelets. It heats up very quickly as well, I absolutely love it.

A Solid Device that most will be happy with…Usage:10 times making bacon and eggs for breakfast sandwiches 8 times, 1 time for Burgers, and 1 time for pancakes. Two adults and a teenager have used this.I have used 2 other similar devices.Pros:Appears to heat up quickly and evenly (pancakes had only a faint toasting mark showing where the burning element is when cooked at 300 degrees F)Two sides to griddleLarge grease panComes apart easilyNot a Con but Not Necessarily a Pro:For those that are ‘active’ grillers (i.e. can’t leave cooking food alone), the glass top is mostly useless. No indicator marks to help align griddle insert so that metal tab is placed on right hand side of assembly so that electrical cable can be plugged into it without issue. If you put it on the left, you deal with a metal tab that prevents device from accepting power plug.Cons:Grease drain takes up about 1.5 inches (10%) of valuable grilling space (with ¼ inch buffer around edges)Non-Stick Surface Scratched Easily (already have a mark in my cooking surface)Condensation builds up on glass top and then drains down back of griddle when opening the glass and not necessarily into large grease pan, otherwise it would have been a Not a Con, Not a Pro as that’s just what happens when you cook.Review:Replaced a larger older griddle with this one. 4 stars were given instead of 5 mostly due to size of griddle cooking space and being scratched easily. Previous griddle could fit a whole package of bacon, this one requires two batches. Otherwise this is pretty solid device provided the non-stick surface holds up. When cooking bacon, they appear to cook evenly without a need to shift them around (just flipping to get both sides cooked to same degree). Eggs cooked evenly (scrambled and whites) and it appears the pancakes did too (silver dollar size cake consistency (i.e. thick and rigid versus thin and floppy)). For the glass lid, if what you’re cooking can just be left alone, it is nice to have. Just be aware that the steam will come out both sides of the glass and when you lift the lid, all the condensation is going to drain down the glass. Some may go into the grease pan but some may not (back of lid isn’t really over large grease pan and there isn’t really a defined runoff towards the grease pan for the water to go). Haven’t tried to make an omelet and haven’t cooked steak on this yet. My teenager cooked burgers on this and they came out fine (even had nice grill marks).

Great food, not so great clean-up, but read my tricks in my review.Let me first say that you cannot use the grill indoors because of smoke issues. I knew this in advance from prior indoor grills. The griddle is fine indoors because there is no fat dripping when you make pancakes, etc and you are using lower heat.No grill is easy to clean, and this one is no exception. Particularly hard in a standard size kitchen sink. However…..I have a few tricks to make it easier.1. Order the George Foreman grill cleaning sponges. They have grooves in them and really get the bbq residue out quickly.2. Clean the grill right after use when it is cool. If you wait until the next day, the oil becomes really difficult to clean.3. Completely cover the drip pan with foil. Then, place another layer of foil right over it. Clean up for this part is simple. Remove the top foil layer. The double layer ensures nothing penetrates the actual pan.4. Buy some ZEP degreaser. I get it at Home Depot and keep it in a spray container. Spray this on the grill and all parts. Let it sit for a few minutes, wipe, then wash with regular dish detergent. This really cuts through the grime. It will still take some time to clean, but the food that I’m making on this grill is fabulous to say the least. Both veggies and meats have been heavenly. The photo is of baby zucchini and one chicken wing that was my “test wing” to be sure I seasoned them well. The grill holds 2lbs of wings at a time.Enjoy

Second time we’ve bought this grillJust bought this grill again. The first was 9 years ago. Never failed in all that time. Bought a new one because the non-stick surface was worn and wasn’t non-stick anymore. Glad to have a new one again. Breaks down into pieces and all fit in the dishwasher. Pull it out & reassemble in a minute and ready to cook again. Very pleased with this item. Shipping was also quick.

I never really believed it could work like this! This grill is amazing. I had hoped it would be able to cook food evenly over the large cooking surface at a temp that was high enough to cook steaks the way my new electric oven broiler couldn’t do. The new electric broilers cycle off and on and you can’t cook the steak browned on the outside and extra rare on the inside, but this appliance aced it! Very even heat transfer, it maintains the temperature and the steak and grilled veggies looked like they had been cooked on my outdoor grill. Perfect grill marks, no mess and it didn’t stink up the kitchen, let alone the whole house like my last one did. The end result is amazing. It’s a bit bigger than I expected, and a bit too big to let sit out all the time, but it’s perfect for anything you want to cook on it and it’s a breeze to clean up. It deserves a medal!!
