Enamel grill plates make all the difference.I did lots of research on several different websites before deciding on this grill. My old Cuisinart GR-4 model no longer had non-sticking grill plates and I was looking for something that would hold up better over time. Enamel seemed to be the best way to achieve this according to reviews. Another feature that sold me on this grill was the different thickness settings available on the top plate instead of only floating. Even when it was new, my previous one always had to be manually adjusted with a pot holder at the back to lie flat on a sandwich. I like that this grill doesn’t have an electronic display, just simple controls. I also appreciate the panini button for a quick no-fuss start! Compared to other lower-priced models this product is a worthwhile upgrade.

My review is base on usethe unit heats very well, it’s easy to clean and easy to use – the sear is quite good. I have not cooked a steak on it but it appears it could do that well too.Ok – so why the rating of just two stars?! this has everything to do with the design. when you make a big sandwich (the purpose of this maker – the entire purpose of this maker) you should be able to close the lid and NOT have the sandwich squirt out (pinched out – i.e. the back of the maker should lift up so that it closes top down on your sandwich. this is just NOT possible with this maker. You close the lid and your sandwich starts pusing to the front and out because the back of the maker does NOT lift up! Yes – one corner does and it is pathetic. you should be able to put the sandwich into the maker and close the lid – that simple. but you end up fighting the thing trying to push the sandwich back in as the ling tries to squirt it out. everything works wells – but if you put a stead or anything in it expecting the lid to land evenly on top and bottom – that is NOT going to happen! at best you will get a tiny bit of the steak (sandwich) where the lid comes down like scissor (where it should come down flat on top and bottom – it just does not work. it should have been better engineered to land flat top and bottom but it does not. if all i can really do is cook one side – i might as well buy a pan. it is a PANINI PRESS! it should land flat top and bottom! it should NOT pinch it out as you try to close it!

Breville is the best at everything!!!I had and kept my first Breville press, but because I could not remove the plates to clean, it became too much of a chore to clean it. I kept researching other similar presses , but couldn’t find one that was simple and that I liked until I tried again after the holidays and saw that Breville had updated and greatly improved its original press. I loved, loved, loved the way the old one worked and so I bought this one. So, so happy!!! Works beautifully ,as all my Breville products work. If you buy this, you will not be disappointed. And no more wasting time cleaning!

Does what it says!Easy to use, cleans easy, versatile and stores in bottom drawer in kitchen. A little heavy to lift in and out but like it out of the way and like the weight as it feels substantially made. Only kinda wish it would level more with top level coming down flat instead of at angle, but for an indoor grill, or making grilled sandwiches it’s great! Haven’t tried pancakes yet and waiting for waffle plates to ship. I’d buy again!

Great non stickFirst time with this Breville Grill. You can literally wipe off the plates and they come out clean. I do find that the plates are not as hot as the Cuisinart I had before, and the browsing is not as good, but the size, the weight and the non stick plates are well worth it. This grill suites us perfectly. We have a small kitchen and it is just my husband and myself.

Love it!I will be biased in my review. I love the brand!I own almost every Breville appliance with an exception of Vitamix. They work very well, look very stylish and last a very long time!The press is very sturdy and makes perfect paninis. I don’t use it for cooking meats. So, I can’t really tell how effective is this for other cooking options.

Greta for multi-use and easy to cleanI’ve been using the stove less since I got this. Use it for grilled cheese, paninis, grilled steak and waffles (bought the waffle plates separately – not included), and the food comes out great. Also very easy to clean. Happy to know there’s no Teflon in this product. I’m a big Breville fan – also have a countertop oven and juicer.

Excellent griddleSuch a great grill/ griddle! I should have bout this long ago as it is so useful! Pancakes, burgers, paninis, eggs, and so much more! One small gripe is that the lid, not being as thick, doesn’t quite cook the same as the base. But that is small once you know about it.

Solid Grill with good grilling/cooking surfacesOverall, i really enjoy this grill. It is well built and the buttons seem to be far better than the cuisinart griddler 5 (which i do not recommend). Temps are even on the grilling surface and it meets our needs very well.
