Understand what you’re getting, and adjust accordingly.tl;dr: Good device. Worth getting in place of a normal air fryer due to its greater flexibility. It is, however, still a convection device. Keep in mind when cooking things. This is a first impression so far only using it to cook a few things so far, but my experience has been great – if with a few caveats. For full disclosure, I bought this with my own money and while it was about $30 off. I received what appeared by all accounts to be a brand new unit with that new appliance smell, complete with burning off excess plastics on first use.First things first: this is a fancy convection oven. It’s a convection oven that gets to very high temperatures and has very strong air circulation, but it is – ultimately – a convection oven. Unlike a proper grill, this has a fan that is constantly circulating air which means it will cook things faster. Keep this in mind when using it and make adjustments to prevent overcooking your food. As a general rule, the recommended times that come with the device are to make something Well Done. For this purpose, they’re accurate, but you probably will want to cut a few minutes off of those times for anything less than that. The device itself is straight forward to use. It has fairly standard oven/air fryer controls, but arranged a little differently. There are different functions that effectively change whether the air circulates in the unit or not, and there are macro temperature controls (low, med, high, max) that can be fine tuned from there. Time is only in intervals of whole minutes, which is slightly inconvenient, but Fine. When initially starting up and preheating, this thing is fairly loud. It doesn’t stay loud for long, but can probably wake up a light sleeper in a small apartment. Probably not a huge issue, but one to be mindful of when using for the first time.I’ve cooked london broil and salmon with this using the Grill option (regular circulation) with the recommended temperature settings (High and Max accordingly.) As I mentioned before, be mindful of how much you want to cook something. The recommended settings always err toward Well Done. As an example: in the case of salmon, I cooked it for eight minutes the first time and it was just a touch more cooked than preferred. At seven minutes, it was perfect. As for the steak, don’t make the same mistake I did the first time and keep opening the grill if you have a standard meat thermometer. All of that hot air is just going to escape and it’ll take some time to get back up to temperature again. In my case, I was too paranoid about the doneness of the steak that I ended up slightly overcooking it (medium-well instead of medium-rare) due to having to bring the unit back to temperature in order for it to cook the center properly. In short: get a quick read thermometer, or just follow the guide line of shaving a minute or two off of recommended cook time based on desired doneness. As for the results, they still tasted great. The grill surface does get hot enough to make a nice sear into the meat. Like any convection oven, the circulating air keeps the food from drying out and the cuts of meat were left very juicy and tasty.Cleaning is easy for as long as the ceramic coating lasts. This is the same caveat as literally anything with a Teflon (or similar) coating. If you’re especially paranoid, let everything soak in soap+water before cleaning it off. The brush it comes with does the job, but any sort of dish scrubbing brush (NOT WIRE PADS) should be just as good.Overall, my first impressions of this appliance are great. It is far easier, quicker, tastier, and more convenient than frying off or sticking something in the oven to broil. My wife and I have replaced the air fryer in our kitchen with this since it serves both purposes. If anything changes, I’ll update this review.Update: We’ve cooked a larger variety of things including turkey legs, hamburgers, smaller wings and so on. Everything remains great. It’s been very easy to clean as well with no signs of chipping on the finish. I will say I do hand clean everything, but it shouldn’t make much difference in the dishwasher.

Bought it a couple days ago and it is now $100 off on sale. Returning and buying another one.Amazon is crazy. I just paid almost $200 for this unit and a couple days later it is on sale for $120? I am returning and buying another one. The unit is awesome. I loved cooking with it. Throwing frozen chicken, pork etc in it and dinner is ready shortly after. The grilling function was new to use, we had a regular air fryer before. Defiantly a great machine and works as described. We also did potatoes vegetables etc and they turned out great. We grilled with some oil and there was no smoke.

Best purchaseI had an annoyingly small air fryer and was looking to upgrade it for a while. This has been the best upgrade and Amazon purchase I’ve done. I got it on Amazon prime day for an even better price. I recommend 100%. It’s so versatile. It’s wide so you’ll need to find a good space for it. It cooks quick & easy to clean. You can never go wrong with a ninja item

Less capacity than other air fryers but it’s still a welcome addition to my kitchenThis is a much smaller unit than the Iconites Air Fryer I’m replacing and it performs beautifully. It looks great on my counter and it’s a DREAM to clean. Some of the online reviews said that the bake times in the included guide are too long so I’m keeping that in mind. The ONLY thing I miss about my other air fryer is the ability to stack shelves in there and do multiple layers of food. I use it for basic air-fyer functions like making toast and toasting nuts and roasting vegetables. I have to force myself to pre-heat it! The other night I made hamburgers in there and I must say they were spectacular! I’m very happy with this product.

Missing Items Different Box4 out of 5 stars. Out Ninja Foodi was a return and repackaged by the manufacturer or 3rd party company. I know this because the box is different from others, items were missing, and the serial number has been covered by another sticker with new serial number.I have not used it yet since it was just delivered one day prior to this review.Disappointed with Ninja for not making it clear that this was “manufacture certified return.”I had to spend the time to call Ninja to get the missing items sent to me. Additionally, all the paper work to include the recipe book was missing. Ninja won’t send that, they will only share a digital copy of it. Annoying but not the end of the world.Again, the disappointment is that it wasn’t more clear I was purchasing a returned item that was factory certified versus a brand new item.

Cooks fast! The only negative I can say about it at this point is it’s noisy because of the fan. With that said I don’t even care I have made so many items in it and they have all turned out exactly the way I wanted them. I am hooked on the air fry in the grill setting now I need to expand and start using the bake and see how it does with traditional baked items like biscuits! This is by far my favorite purchase ever!

it’ll be your number one applianceI’ve had mine for about 3 or 4 years. All I know is once you learn to use it you will love it. I used my outdoor BBQ grill All the time. Now I use this. just keep it clean, clean the screen each time and it will last. I still use my outdoor grill. but for chicken wings or the occasional steak or chicken you can’t go wrong. I bought another one but saw the price on this one and now I have two new ones for future use.

Hallelujah!!I did tons of research before deciding on this unit. The thing that sold me was the indoor grill feature. Our first attempt at burgers was amazing and the French fries were delicious. Chicken wings on the menu tomorrow. My husband does the clean up and he said it was easy and no problem. He used a different scrub brush, but had no complaints. The size is perfect and not a problem to move around.

Must have!I was not sure if I’d like this as much as my old Cuisinart brand toaster oven/air fryer, but this one is so much better. It cooks so evenly and is a breeze to clean. I use it almost every day. I use the grill function to make toast.
