Looked as good as new, super easy to use , powerful and quick clean up!I had been planning on purchasing a juicer for some time having previously owned a very basic and honestly very mediocre store bought version that was messy, and produced very little juice. I decided on a budget of $100 – $150 knowing that as of now, I am not a juicer fanatic and do not plan to juice every day, but still wanted a quality item that would get the job done.Initially I decided on the Breville Compact Juice fountain which was running at the $100 price point but it was also on back order for 1-2 months, then I spotted this for around the same price just the fact that it was a refurbished item. I was a little hesitant to purchase but figured the excellent reviews were reassuring and Amazon has always stood behind its product. Though just in case I purchased the additional 4-year warranty which was really cheap but peace of mind!It arrived in a new box, looking brand new and wrapped in all the manufacturing packaging – not a mark or flaw to be seen, so my guess is these might simply often be returns that once shipped cannot be marked as new even if never used…who knows? And it works like a charm -I will post a video next use. As its close to shopping day I had a bunch of fruit and veggies that needed to be used so mixed apples, parsley, pineapple, lemons, sage (weird but it works, trust me) and cucumber. It produced a full jug of super fresh, tasty juice and took mere minutes to make. It cut and squeezed right through the produce. It did work much better with the harder stuff like apples and even the cucumber, though did better than I expected on the herbs; it struggled a tad with the pineapple leaving a lot of pulp behind – BUT, I simply took all the pulp, threw it in my Vitamix, added a few berries and a banana and I have a smoothie ready for work tomorrow which is thicker as a lot of the watery content became tonight’s juice! The kids loved the juice and I also plan to use it to make popsicles in the summer as a great way to sneak some extra greens into their diet. The best part of all though was the part that I had been dreading, was one of the easiest of all -clean up. Some of the parts are dishwasher safe, it was just 5 super easy to rinse parts that took seconds to dissemble and rinse off. Far easier than my old model and it is also worth noting that the juice was caught cleanly in the jug with no spills during juicing!Glad I went with this -refurbished and all!UPDATE: One of my favorite juice shots is lemon, apple cider vinegar and ginger topped with cayenne. I had been making it with pickled ginger but after watching my local juice place (which charges $7 for these shots) using fresh ginger juice, we tried juicing ginger….this thing whips though it, without you needed to peel it and about 5 stalks ginger filled a 4 oz mason jar so I am saving money and getting the real deal!

Remanufactured? Might As Well Be New.This is an excellent and cost effective juicer. It is an outstanding one to get if you are interested in trying out juicing, but you are not sure if you want to be fully committed yet. The juicer is very easy to assemble and disassemble and cleaning is mostly simple, although you have to keep up with it. After a juicing session the plastic pieces pretty much just rinse off. There is a metal mesh basket which is inside the juicer which needs a bit more attention. You actually have to scrub it with an included brush to get out all the particles lodged in the mesh. If the mesh is not kept clean it affects the performance of the juicerAt the base of the mesh basket are tiny blades which spin very rapidly and grind up whatever you are juicing. You feed your fruit and veggies through the upright tube to the grinding blades. The ground particles move up into the basket where centrifugal force squeezes the juice out. The pulp is then discarded into an attached container and the juice is extracted into another. Pretty simple. This thing is not tiny. A little bigger than a full sized food processor, it won’t be the kind of kitchen tool you will be putting away every time you use it, especially if you juice constantly. Be prepared to designate counter space and a suitable work area around it.There are more efficient juicers, but not at this price. The package we received was like a completely new juicer. There was absolutely no indication that this was a remanufactured unit and we have had no problem with it. There really is not much of a learning curve on using it, there is however a learning curve on decent juice recipes. We are fairly new to juicing and if that is the case for you as well my first piece of advice is to get used to going to the store every couple of days for fresh produce. We stocked up for a week and subsequently have had to throw out some items which went bad before we used them, especially if you are using organic produce. The juice tastes significantly better if the ingredients are fresh anyway.

Excellent price on a great juicerBreville RM-JE98XL Certified Remanufactured Fountain Plus Juice Maker
I got this remanufactured Breville juicer for just $100, and let me tell you, it was a great bargain. The juicer looked brand new as I unpacked it and removed all the protective plastic – no smudges, scratches or other signs of wear. Also, it works perfectly. The pulp is quite dry after the juicing is done and the cleanup is easy. The juice is delicious. And it is easy to make.To my wife’s consternation, I did dump some juice onto the counter the first time I used it. But it turned out that it was because I did not have the pitcher in place to catch the juice as it poured out of the juicer!! Good for a laugh at myself, but I guess it does make the lesson that it is good to proceed carefully before you “throw the switch” as you learn the routine of readying it to use. It is a bit of a learning experience as there are several ways to make a mess. They are all obvious after the fact but I found I was a bit nervous until I had used it a few times. It has a strong motor that sounds like a jet taking off when you turn it on (no it is NOT as loud as a jet – just has a winding up sound as it increases speed).I read intensely, watched a lot of reviews, and struggled to make a choice. They make it seem so technical. The variety of brands and models is dizzying. Augers, grinders, blenders, spin, dry. Confusing. The reviews for this one were good and so was the price so it made sense for a way to try juicing without spending a fortune. I am most glad that I bought it. It is far better than I expected based on all the variables in other models, brands and types. I expected something more modest given that other juicers can run up to a couple thousand dollars. This was about the least I though I could spend and get something even usable. But I got a lot more and am very happy with it.If you are looking for a juicer and get a chance to get this one at a great price, I recommend it.5 stars

Item was received in good condition. I couldn’t tell my remanufactured unit had …Item was received in good condition. I couldn’t tell my remanufactured unit had been used before. The unit has been fully functional without any issue. I have noticed a few places between the top shroud and bottom bowl where juice is seeping out while in use. It is a very small amount (not enough to run down the machine or pool on the counter), and only happens towards the end of our juicing sessions. The pulp bin is almost full at this point and needs to be emptied out anyway.I think this is a great product for a more casual juicer. It works quickly, and requires less cutting than other juicers due to the large port on the top. The pulp that comes out of it feels pretty dry. Other more premium juicers may extract even more juice from the pulp, but at the expense of prep/operation/cleanup time. It does seem to excel at more fibrous fruits and veggies like carrots and apples. Oranges do fine. It just does OK for the leafy stuff (I’ve done kale and spinach). If you want to make lots of kale, spinach, wheatgrass based drinks you might want to look at other juicers.Speaking of cleanup time… I can breakdown and rinse the unit in about 2 minutes or so. You will spend the most time cleaning the blade/screen attachment, but they provide a brush that is fairly effective at this task. I wash it with soap maybe every third time I use it (used at least three times a week). I’ll go out on a limb and say this is probably one of the easier units to clean.I noticed there are a few reviewers saying they had some issue with the reman units. I took a chance and it paid off for me.

Nice juicer, very satisfied!I juiced in the mid-90’s but got darn tired of the hassle concerning clean-up so I just quit using it and gave the juicer away and never missed it.Here it is 2012 and I wanted to juice again for the optimal health benefits and I assumed machines surely must have improved from 20+ years ago, and have they ever, this Breville Juice Fountain is incredible, difference between night and day from my old juicer. My family has found that to wash, prepare and juice veggies and fruits etc… has become a family event, it literally becomes fun with everyone doing their part. We chose this type of juicer over the slower ones as we really did not want to turn juicing into a dreaded chore, we wanted one that was fast, easy to clean and not have to shove small cut-up pieces of food down a small chute. The 3″ chute is very convienent, the pulp discharge gets the pulp out of the way without clogging up the machine, the parts are easy to assemble and disassemble and clean-up on the most part is very easy (FYI, you will always have to deal with a filter to clean by hand and the supplied brush is very effective at cleaning the filter/blade part). The juice is pulp free, the discharded pulp (yes, line the pulp discharge container with a plastic bag, to discard the pulp we merely dig a hole in the garden/landscaping and bury the pulp) is relatively dry. The pitcher can seperate the froth from the juice but have found we very rarely use this as we like to stir the finished juice product before consuming so we just stir the froth in with the juice so this feature for the pitcher is useless for us. We have found this powerful juicer merely spits leafy produce into the pulp container, it does produce a small amount of juice from it, but again, very little, if we want leafy veggies in our diet we just eat a salad.Only problem we had was the filter/blade part did look unduly scratched and worn but amazon.com made that right so we were very satisfied with the price for a recertified machine of this quality versus a new one.

AMAZING!!Ok, first of all… I’d bet money that this is a brand new juicer!! It seemed brand spankin’ new to me. Breville is famous for their juicers because they are strong and last a long time, and now I see why. It’s strong and durable. I thought it was going to be hard to learn, but within minutes (after washing everything) I was up and juicing!!I was skeptical at first, because I heard it was a lot of work, etc… I actually find it rewarding to do the entire process. You really feel good when you are washing your veggies, and putting them in the juicer. One thing I’d recommend is that if you see the juicer not juicing, stop it and rinse the screen out, or clean it. You will get more juice. Cleanup is not as bad as I thought it was going to be, either. Use a bag to line the pulp and it’s easy cleanup. Today I didn’t have time, and loaded everything but the machine into the dishwasher. I’ll clean the filter myself, by hand, after soaking it in water for about 10 mins. No biggie.I researched juicers for WEEKS and it came down to this one. There is more output of juice, the pulp is dry, and it’s not very expensive. I feel so much better, and healthier, too!! (And it’s not all in my head, either…LOL) Please remember that when you juice with green veggies, like kale, you’re going to feel like your drinking grass… I just add ginger root, a banana or something, and down it. That’s the best method. The rest of the juice leftover, I put in 8 oz. Mason jars and put it in the refrigerator. (Juice 1/2 peeled lemon to it so it won’t turn colors) Once you get used to it, you wonder why you hadn’t done this before.I’d recommend this to anyone, and am thinking of getting this for a present for someone. Good buy, highly recommend!

“Remanufactured” must mean “New”!The Breville Juice Fountain Plus arrived last night, and despite my fear of putting it together given my extreme condition (a terrible case of “mechanically challenged”), the booklet was understandable; it took about 3 minutes to study the picture and understand the pieces. I disassembled it and washed the parts, put it back together, and I swear–within ten minutes of opening the box I had bright orange juice coming out of the spout. This is a lean, well-designed machine. I expected it to be a bit noisy, but it isn’t! The motor makes a little whirr–that’s it. If you have a day sleeper, feel confident that you won’t wake her up. My dog didn’t even budge! For my first juicing experience, I used a variety of fruit and vegetables including some hard beets–it just zapped them in two seconds and produced more juice overall than I expected. I have to experiment with recipes, but by golly–the juice tasted pretty good!! The Breville is even easy to clean, which was a surprise. I read on a message board to turn the metal basket over and use the brush in a counter-clockwise direction under running water; this worked perfectly, and it cleaned right up. I have been planning to go on a juice fast for a couple of weeks, but I was worried that dealing with the juicer would stop me. After this experience with the Breville Juice Fountain Plus, juice fast–here I come. I spent jillions of hours researching juicers before selecting the Breville, and the effort was worthwhile. Oh–one more thing–it fits under my kitchen counter!!! This is not big–it takes up just a tiny bit more space than a coffee-maker. If you are wondering which way to go in your journey toward juicing, the Breville is a good direction to take.

Get Juicing it greatFirst off, the Brevelle juicer is an excellent juicer. This statement is based upon only my experience with this juicer and no other comparisons to other juicers so it can be somewhat subjective but here is how I quantify that statement. I have used this juicer for the last 40 days. I have made on average 4 quarts of juice per day for 40 days, enough juice for three people a day. I have juiced everything from deep greens, such as kale and spinach, to easily juiced produce like cucumbers and celery without any issue. It has work well for the juice fast diet and we have seen good results. Understand that this is a spinning screen juicer that may not extract every drop of juice as efficiently as a masticating juicer but it does a great job in removing so much juice that the pulp seems really dry to the touch, carrots appear to juice the best.Cleanup is not very difficult. Seven total parts to clean. Most of the parts need a good quick wash and rinse and they can be left to air dry. The only part that most people dread is cleaning the screen. With the included brush, yes this is work; it takes about 2 minutes of scrubbing. We usually make a lot of juice at once to help with reducing the chore of cleaning the screen. If it is a question of whether to juice or not, by all means jump into the world of juicing and it will pay great benefits. I have lost 20 lbs, have lost two inches on my waist, and have a joy of eating healthy vegetables that I never had before. This coming from a recovering carnivore, now an aspiring omnivore. Good luck and good juicing.

Easy everythingLove the ease of this. I had other juicers when fruit was cheaper and hardly made juice due to long, messy clean ups. Now that I have to nearly take a second mortgage to afford the fruit, I’m making juice nearly every day! Highly recommend this juicer.
