ReliabilityI have purchased two Waring WCO500X commercial countertop ovens and although they bake really well they do not last. The first purchase was made February 2021 and stopped working completely in March 2022. Purchased our second one March 2022 since we missed the warranty cut off nothing could be done but trash it since repairs costs are about 1/2 the price of the oven. We had our first issue with the convection not working about 30 days ago. Did some research & troubleshooting. There is a reset for the oven which we did and it worked. Today (July 1, 2022) before a busy weekend the convection no longer works regardless of what we do! It will still bake but not function using the convection feature. I have contacted Waring directly but since I rely on personal reviews I thought I would leave one on my experience with this product. If I had the space I would purchase a different convection oven other than countertop. Buyer beware when purchasing this item for daily baking use in a commercial environment. Now I have the issue of getting a refund for another defective oven from Waring. Wish me luck.

Breaks after warranty expiresBought from Amazon in February 2021. Residential use by one person since then. Now in October 2022, the oven is malfunctioning. It won’t get hotter than 300 degrees. This oven is supposed to be NSF certified and commercial grade. It should not malfunction so soon, out of warranty, especially since its use has been light. And there is nowhere within driving distance where I can get an out-of-warranty repair.

Great value commercial countertop convection ovenThis commercial convection oven is well worth the money. I opened my restaurant thirteen years ago and this is our fourth convection oven. The last two I purchased were Avantco brand from the Webstaurant store and they were in the same price range as this Waring but much inferior. One Avantco was so bad the Webstaurant store gave me a full refund because the door hinges wore out in less than 6 months. My other Avantco is about 3 months old and works ok but has many flaws and lacks the nice features of this Waring unit. The Waring gives the option of setting a timer or infinite on. We run it 8 hours straight, 7 days a week. It can be set for oven only, or for convection. It has a drip tray which makes cleaning 100% easier, especially because we use it as a cheese melter primarily. The control dials are large and designed for easy reading. It also has an interior light which none of our other three convection ovens had. This unit is designed for standard 1/2 sheet baking trays, unlike Avantco’s off standard sizing. Also, this oven comes with an NSF approval label, something our local health inspector looks for.I have to mention that it’s exciting to see Amazon move into the commercial kitchen equipment arena. It’s a dificult challenge to choose the right equipment and Amazon’s rating system is a big plus to help us get the best product. Also I have to mention that last year I purchased Waring smoothie blenders to replace the Vita Mix brand I had been using for 12 years (probably went through about 5 or 6 Vita Mix’s). The Waring’s were about 1/3 the cost of Vita Mix and they work better.

CAUTION: OVEN DEVELOPED A SHORT VERY SOON AFTER BUYING AND USINGThis is my second one of this brand oven and same size. Had the other about 10 years and left it in house when I sold and moved. New place has a nice relatively new large oven and range, which works nicely. But missed the convenience of this item and so bought a new one.CONS: Had I known the quality was no longer what it had used to be, would not have ordered this one again.First, the fan makes so much more noise that I cannot stand to use it and therefore, the convection is lost to me.Second, the pan and the racks are so rough and hard to insert, not at all, easy like the old one was.Third, seems to take an unusually long time just to heat up.Fourth: Metal is so thin. that when heating and cooling continues to make excess noices when cooling down or heating up. Quite disconcerting.PRO: Does bake good once up to temp and seems to hold good temperature. Have not used a thermometer to measure accuracy as yet. Exterior, still looks nice as the old one. Bright interior light seems brighter than the old one.Would only recommend with reservations.EDIT ON APRIL 22. WOULD NO LONGER RECOMMEND AT ALL. THIS OVEN HAS BEGUN TO CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF BAKING , EVEN AT 350 DEGREES. WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED AND THEN CLOSED, THE OVEN COMES BACK ON. I THINK THAT MEANS IT HAS DEVELOPED A SHORT (IN A RATHER SHORT TIME SINCE BUYING) AND IS NO LONGER SAFE.CAUTION TO BUYERS: LOOK ELSEWHERE, THIS MACHINE IS NO LONGER A SAFE HOME PRODUCT

Great Little Oven – Great Little Warranty – Great Customer ServiceI typically don’t leave customer reviews if the vendor does what’s expected and product is as advertised. But something astounding happened with this purchase almost 1 year later and I thought you might like to hear my story. I purchased this oven March 23; 2019, and loved its convenient size and performance. Three weeks before it’s “limited” 1 year warranty expired The thermostat failed. Suddenly the word “limited” became a crucial and frightening word. Expecting the worst I contacted the company and was delighted to receive an immediate response from Karen. She asked for a copy of my invoice and within 24 hours she shipped a replacement! Unheard of…I understand things with working parts are subject to failure, and although this was inconvenient for 3/4 days, not getting the run around was so refreshing. Thank you Waring and Karen.

Probably great oven, very inadequate packaging50+ pound oven arrived with multiple holes in box and a crushed corner, shipping box was not reinforced, styrofoam was broken in multiple places from drops during shipping. Cheap styrofoam granules coated the oven. For a $700+ oven, Waring should spend more money on packaging that will ensure oven arrives intact. When I turned the oven on, fan motor was unbalanced, likely from drops and damaged during shipping. Ended up buying an oven that cost 1/4 the price, but had double reinforced corners and edges on box, a plastic sealed inner box, and a softer styrofoam that remained intact and didn’t leave granules all over oven. Maybe if bought from restaurant supply house, it would be ok. Didn’t survive UPS.

Good oven but racks have small space between themThis half size oven can hold 4 half sheet trays, however, the space between trays is very small. For baking cookies, if you start with a big ball of dough or if you have cookies that puff high while baking, you can only bake two trays at a time. Also be careful of turning off the convection fan while baking – the top tray will bake very very fast and over brown the dough.Good oven for the price though. I needed a starter half size convection and I’m learning to work with this one.

This is a great professional oven & convection. This is my 3rd 500X in 12 years and do most our cooking with it. It is normally used in commercial restaurants and it cooks like a professional restaurant oven. They don’t wear out, 2 of the 3 units I’ve purchased I gave to friends and they are still using them.

Awesome productOur only complaint has nothing to do with the machine. The first one arrived with a bent door handle as the packing allows the delivery driver to put it on a hand card and the weight bends the door handle. It was replaced with a second one and the same thing, but not as bent, but enough you can’t put your fingers in the middle of the handle without making contact with the hot door.Works great, beautiful to look at.
