The rice cooker was ok until it starting flaking off the non-stick coating in the pot after about 6 months. I’m pretty sure that stuff can cause cancer, so I stopped using it right away. I tried to get it replaced under warranty, but Amazon sent me to the manufacturer website, and they offered to ship me one, but based on my experience I would have had to pay more in duties and import fees than the rice cooker was worth, so I didn’t bother.

I can’t live without rice and I can’t live without a rice cooker lol. Just do yourself a favor and get one. This size is for singles or couples not a family

Cooks rice great according to its instructions. Note that this is not a US cup, it is going by the Japanese measurement being 180ml per “cup”. However at 3 cups (540ml dry, 1080ml cooked) I still get enough rice for two to three individual meals.

While using this rice cooker for 3 month I found something that makes me not like it. First off when the rice starts cooking there are bubbles forming and it goes to the top and can make a mess. Secondly once the rice is cooked and at warm when you leave it there for a long time the bottom starts to become hard and stick together. But overall it’s a decent rice cooker if you need something cheap.

1. This cooker is very tiny, that’s personally perfect for me because I’m cooking for 2 but just something to note. It does make cleanup and storage very very easy. If you’re feeling lazy and just wanna toss the cooker bowl in the fridge you can do it without it taking up much space. (I won’t judge you)
2. The cooker definitely doesn’t FEEL super sturdy. It’s a $20 rice cooker so that’s expected. This isn’t a high quality cooker if that’s what you want get a Tiger or something. I’m a law school student living in a studio. So if this cooker lasts me 1-2 years I’ll be happy because I couldn’t imagine this little thing lasting longer than that. Once again it’s only $20.
3. All that being said it works great! I made about a cup or so of rice before I went to bed so I could make crispy rice tomorrow. It came out in about 20 minutes and it was great. I’m excited to use it to make all different kinds of stews, and the steamer basket will be great for dumplings and vegetables.
With reasonable expectations of what you’re buying this cooker is a 5/5 for its price. A cheap, tiny, but efficient rice cooker that realistically probably doesn’t have a lot of longevity. I’ll update my review if it randomly stops working.

No, it doesn’t have a timer, adjustable temperature, or a fancy chime. It’s not very big, either, and sometimes rice at the edges are a little too crispy.
But guess what? It works. It gives me a heaving helping of tasty rice in 15-25 minutes. I can even steam vegetables with it while all that goes down. For only about $20, that’s a pretty good deal.
If you’re having issues getting these results, look up the finger trick for how much water to use.

This rice pot is small enough to store and makes just the right amount for 3 people. Great and quick too

This works great, and is easy to use. The container that the rice cooks in is a bit flimsy, but that may be intentional. The interior is nonstick, and cleans very easily. Compact size.

If you are a mom to a teenage/young adult son, you know how challenging it is to get them to actually cook. This is so easy to use, my son actually makes rice and steams vegetables for dinner now! He thanked me for buying it. That alone gets this rice cooker 5 stars. It doesn’t get easier and the rice is perfect every time. BTW I’m from the Carribean and I’m pretty sure it’s against my culture to buy something like this (lol), but I now realize how much time I wasted making rice & peas any other way.

My old hand-me-down rice cooker finally gave out and I didn’t feel like spending hundreds on a new one since anyone aside from me in the house eats rice. Saw his for 20 dollars and figured it couldn’t hurt to try. Just used it for the first time this past weekend and the rice came out perfectly and the pot was non stick so clean was easy. I absolutely love the inclusion of the steamer as I use it to steam bao buns every now and then. Absolute great product for the price.
